  • This algebra video tutorial explains how to multiply rational expressions by factoring and canceling. It explains how to factor the greatest common factor, factoring trinomials, factoring difference of squares, factoring sums and differences of cubes, and factor by grouping. This video contains plenty of examples and practice problems on simplifying rational expressions.

    today is the day before my algebra 2 unit 2 test, one of the most difficult algebra tests i have yet to take. it is around 85 points for this first section, and i was really stressed about it until i remembered your videos. my teacher is rarely at school, so often, the most important lessons are taught through google classroom and a worksheet. i find myself pulling my hair out trying to teach myself these things, so when i find a video you make on the topic, i am flooded with relief. i have been on an algebra 2 video binge for the past few hours, and i have learned more from you than i have this year. thank you so much. you help so many people, including myself.

      Here he factored out a 10x and also factored out the trinomial. This is what happened. He had 10x^3 -70x^2 +120x -->
      10x(x^2 - 7x +12x) then factored the (x^2 -7x+12x) term to be (x-3)(x-4) so the final factored expression was 10x(x-3)(x-4). Hopefully that made sense!

    • @aidanpotts7157
      @aidanpotts7157 3 роки тому +1

      Difference of perfect squares is a "special pattern" basically a way of simplifying expressions. The more questions you do the quicker you will recognize these difference of squares and can write them in the form of (a+b)(a-b) also to get the value of a^2 - b^2 you can just expand the (a+b)(a-b) term out and you will see that the ab term cancels!
