Been on the service side of cars my whole life, I’ve built engines and installed lift kits since I was 19. I am 23 now, I have kicked alcohol and caffeine out of my life as well as prioritize my sleep and eating schedule which has skyrocketed my work ethic and mood. I far surpass even my managers in effort and positive attitude at my current job and I’m going to move into car sales. Tired of working twice as hard as the guy next to me and getting paid the same. My current job has exposed me to sales and I’ve become a lot more comfortable and confident in my sales and social skills. Im ready for my pay to reflect my efforts.

The schedule always killed me so I started just taking time when I needed it I just learned to communicate the need to my manager and usually they'd be cool with me going home for lunch or going out to eat with my wife.

The funniest part about this video is
    A. Every dealerships pay plan is different some are great others are awful.
B.same thing for scheduling it varies however at my current dealership we’re scheduled on average 50-60 every week and they do not tolerate if you come in late or leave early if you have nothing working. Plus good luck asking for time off.
    C. Lastly if you plan on having any sort of social life with friends, family, your significant other good luck, because your schedule takes away from any time to yourself let alone anyone else

I got out after being fired from 2 dealerships back to back. Ive worked at 3 dealerships, one of which was a used lot i worked for almost 4 years. I was fired and got another job at a nissan selling new cars and later dodge. All i can say infailed miserably and lost my spark. Now i cant get an interview or dealerships dont take me serious. Going back to an hourly job. The car industry killed me from the inside completely. To many snakes.

    • @Yoba-WanKanobi

@carsunlocked it turned me into a snake as well. I can say this hits because I also fell into being one of those salespeople who'd do anything to close a sale even if it meant selling a car way over sticker price knowing how bad the customers situation was. Once I started at bigger franchise dealership, I started to feel guilty about the way managers and sales people where and I soon realized what I had turned into. I did what was right and was being transparent with people about their situation and was fired for not selling. They told me we are there to sell, not be financial advisors.

Been thinking about making this move a long time now. I’ve been told I would be good at it but I’m not sure. I love cars. I have experience of delivering cars to customers and sign papers with them and also have customer service experience and sales by working as security before and currently at a uniform company. I like to be through when I do my research and I have some questions myself to make me decide to pull the trigger or not.
    1. Do I have to get my omvic license before or after getting hired by a dealership.
1a. If I get hired by dealership would they help pay for the license or it’s something I have to do myself ? 1b. Would I be able to make sales in the first 2 weeks to cover my own expenses if I get hired before finishing my omvic license
    2. What’s the best way to go to a dealer and get hired on the spot ? Meaning : what is the appropriate clothes to wear and which dealership are more likely to hire new guys in their 30s
    3. What’s the average of commission per car sale and what’s a realistic average of earning in a week especially this economy ?
    4. Which dealerships should I focus on to try and get hired at ?
All info appreciated and any other information related to them. Thank you in advance
    Toronto, Ontario

Hello Friend thanks for watching my video! Heres a few answers for
You can begin taking the course before you get hired so you are a step ahead of other people apply for the job but eventually a dealership will need to sponsor you and and register you to them.
Most dealerships dont pay for the license but every dealership is different. It is fair to say you would start selling in the first two weeks but you cannot legal sell until you have your omvic license
Best way to get hired on the spot is in this video ua-cam.com/video/veKW22YEbZ0/v-deo.html
keep commission averages but $400-$500 is fair average if your starting out
I would focus on getting hired a dealership attached to a manufacturer example, toyota, ford chrysler etc, avoid "Joes Motors"
For more training I have a free webinar you can watch on my website carsunlockedacademy.com
      Good luck

    *Long shifts.
    *$250 profit on New Cars.
*The manager uses sales associates move cars from one lot to another for several hours.
    *Complete mismanagement.
*Customers sit around for hours trying to close the deal with the finance manager.

Also funny why you wonder why car salesmen are never trusted.
