Macca's songs in this one year, 1968, would be the unreachable wet dream of 99.9 percent of professional composers in the world today: Lady Madonna (a top five hit). Hey Jude (the best recording of the year). Helter Skelter. Mother Nature's Son. Blackbird. Back in the USSR. Why Don't We Do It in the Road. I Will. Etcetera, etcetera.
Agreed! I would take why don't we do it in the road out but yeah. The man is a genius. I will is such an underrated song though. One of my favorite beatles songs.
1967 was the happiest and most productive time for the Beatles apart from Brian’s death. they’d quit touring, made their most groundbreaking album and apparently were just in excellent form, galavanting around London taking drugs and embarking on ambitious projects like One Love, Magical Mystery Tour, the Hey Bulldog recording session and meditation in India. Then Yoko turned up
Mr McCartney doesn't need autotune to sound good. Just pure skill and knowing that his vocal range is limited from age so he changes how he sings. Plus props to anyone who can play and sing simultaneously
1:02 = I just get so much joy from knowing what this song means to Jools and how in this second, that smile he gives just says it all. Playing along live to his favourite Beatles song...with Macca himself! My heart always glows at that moment. So happy for him ☺️
Stupefacente Paul come sempre, che Dio ti benedica e faccia proseguire più che si può Grazie infinitamente Ti amo!! Tanti cari auguri sarai ricordato per intere generazioni.
What a stinkin' genius he is !!! The song so unique, the progression and the piano hemiola rhythms so unique..totally original in every way !!! I never get tired of this or most Beatle songs...Hey ! This is the guy who wrote Yesterday !!!
Wonder why Paul changed the lyric from "Did you think..." to "Did you know that money was heaven sent"? The original lyric was great because it pointed out the foolishness of people who never had to work hard.
It doesn't really matter. One or two or words are changed by accident in most live performances, it's not some deep meaningful thing just because Paul McCartney did it.
This song will always be in my playlist. Apparently the squinty eyed pianoist across from Paul disaggrees but some people get bored on the way to perfecting a song

1967 & 1968 were the Beatles' best years in my opinion. So many great hits- Penny Lane, Lady Madonna, Hey Jude, Revolution, just to name a few!
Nick Kane 1966-1969 are all amazing and revolutionary.
Not just for the Beatles, but for music. Especially what you can do in the studio.

Etcetera was a song of his too hahaha

Clearly your remarks about his vocal range are relevant today; not when this was recorded in 2007.
He does now.
not on this song, it did sound good enough!
@@lynntempleton9640Hes 80 years old over half the worlds population does before 80, and first world countries that number still exists.
Every molecule of that man is pure utter genius.
I just want Paul to live forever. He just knows true entertainment and music and delivers each and every time. Such a beautiful soul

I've loved this man (Paul McCartney) well over 50 years. 🎹 🎶
Jesus Christ that's an awesome rendition! Just electric. Gives me goosebumps every damn time!
Oh my ... He still has it! What a legend ...
Brilliant!.... Just pure brilliance
See how he smiles when the guitar and tenor kick in...,he's a rocker...,despite the fact that he's a musical genius...,he just can't help it.
1:59 damn what a lineup that is for one show.
I have grown up loving this bloke.
It doesn't get any better than that.
His daughters and friends are sitting behind him. 😁
Also his son
“Hey dad, would you stop with that guitar already? We are trying to watch TV here”. Hahaha

'Later' is the best UK live music show since 'The Old Grey Whistle' by far ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pure joy! Ya still got it, never lost it...the magical Mr McCartney!
Greatest artist of the rock and roll era.
Yeah dude. The why don't we do it in the road song is pure rock and roll
@@blujay22 There are a few throw away pieces on the White Album.
You don't like that song? Or you talking about different ones
Also the yeah dude comment was before I read your name hope no offense was there
just three people think that ... 🙂 he made pretty songs, but ...
Stupefacente Paul come sempre, che Dio ti benedica e faccia proseguire più che si può Grazie infinitamente Ti amo!! Tanti cari auguri sarai ricordato per intere generazioni.
I never get tired of listening to Paul and this was especially cool seeing how obviously proud Stella was of her daddy.
Note Mary and Stella rocking out in the background.
I could imagine how much fun it would be to be in the audience to hear that one live on television!
He is great as always ! Stella , Mary ,and their husbands at table behind him, what pride they must have in Daddy.
The organist did a awesome job.. Two Thumbs Waaay Up for the organist♪♫♪
Excellent♪
The piano player wasn't too shabby, either
@@comanchio1976 are you trying to prove a point
@@Anonymous-jb6gj ... and what point would that be?
I thought I was just making a comment, in the comments section, where all of the comments go.
@@comanchio1976 sorry, I'm just being stupid. He's a good pianist, Paul is.
This is not just a song but entertainment, a show and a party all in one! When this doesn't move you feet, then you must be dead!

Look at how happy Paul is........🥺😢😊
Would like to see Jools Holland at the Hammond Organ more often.
Great tune that was written as an homage to Fats Domino whom Paul admired.
source?
@@THEJ0KER0815 It's true.
Fantastic to see these two together
I'm always excited when I first hear the piano intro of this song
Thank you Paul, for your wonderful music,
all over the beautiful years *
(of course 'all' too)
Sir Paul simply a genius!
AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow...1:28...still got the ability to nail it like no other!
His voice held up preeetty good until 2015 where it catched up with his age. He sang with a younger man's voice for years. A beast.
Mary and Stella at the back watching her genius dad doing his magic...they seem proud...
Great piano boogie song. Similar one is 1985 from Band on the Run album
This is completely awesome!
Siempre excelso ...
Hace 5 años estuve en The Cavern en Liverpool y la banda que tocaba en ese momento, interpretó Lady Madona! Que linda emocion.
Fabulous live performance - love it
Jools and Paul both lived that. So obvious
1:27 is unbelievable
legendary.
Thanks 👍😍 !!!
What a legend
work of genius
I love you paul and this is my favorite song!!
Talent and skill. If you've never seen the man live all I can say is that you owe it to yourself to do so.
I feel fortunate to have lived at a time when all 4 Beatles were still on this earth.
Still the best.
Wonder why Paul changed the lyric from "Did you think..." to "Did you know that money was heaven sent"? The original lyric was great because it pointed out the foolishness of people who never had to work hard.
It's a critic.
Cause at this point his memory was going as well as his voice
It doesn't really matter. One or two or words are changed by accident in most live performances, it's not some deep meaningful thing just because Paul McCartney did it.
It doesnt matter if he forgets a lyric or two a lot of performers do tend to forget some part of the lyrics when performing
I pretty sure he changed it and didn't forget it because when he preformed with the wings he changed it to "did you know" which was in 76 but still
Sir Paul McCartney: in the mix as most valuable human on earth
b frost you got it,,, as I listen to Pauls songs...damn....no one even comes close.....not even
I’m really looking forward to see you Paul
Paul forever!
The Beatles - Lady Madonna (by Paul Mccartney / live in New York City, 2009)
❤❤❤Sir sir paul
I'm surprised the BBC allows you to broadcast their footage though. They're VERY precious about that
So groovy 😎 love it so much 😍
Musical genius. Song machine.
my favorit song of the Beatles 🙂 see how they run ...
I love this music 😚
Stellar! A great song - one of The Beatles best.
Sir Paul!!
The best!
Stella, his daughter, is right behind him. Imagine...just Dad playing another classic!
Sir McCartney is such a good singer! This talent is what happens when you grow up without autone, lol.
still amazing ;)
