On the promo shots of this guy on Mattel they had fire coming out the bottom like it was a jetpack. That's how I will use it. To help him jump or fly. I got the 3 MAX of this guy so I can't wait to get him/them. Great review as always.

I also got a second one coming that hasn't shipped yet to keep in card. Congrats on getting three on the sale.They also look like cool army building figures.
@meg I'm not sure if it is. There's no hole dilled in the bottom. But you can make for surevwith a little customs and fit blast effects in it. Or even certain effects can sit on the top. I have an action figure blast effects set that would work with some modifications👍
I couldn't find him so easily here in the UK until Ebay came to my rescue. I had to pay more than you lucky people in the US but I can't wait till mine arrives. I appreciate the detailed description because it is making me even more excited to get the figure.

I think this is one of, if not the best Origins figure in the entire series. I have him displayed next to Castle Grayskull, standing in the Dwell of Souls, alongside the tentacle creature and out of everything in my Origins set up, it’s the one thing your eyes are drawn to. He looks straight up like he could have been in the original vintage run. Awesome figure.
I agree! This was a really cool design and great figure for the Origins. I also have mine set up next to my Classics Catsule greyskull and the Origins dwell of souls piece with the tentacle. Thanks for watching the review! I heard a couple other comments that point to that Torso possibly being a hint to Modulok coming in the line. The buck threw me off because its Hollow and very Wide compared to the Vintage Modulok design. I also have the Classics Modulok and looked that in comparing to Frog Mongers buck now and it looks really off. But the Classics redisigned Modulok from the vintage. However I can see a Modulok coming out of that just knowing how the Origins share parts. Thanks for the heads up or hints👍
The spaceship at the end was Starship Eternia the main playset from New Adventures line, maybe a hint at an crowd fund item? I would rather the two giants be the next one given how rare they are.

I never really watched too much of the new Adventures cartoon but did see it in the comics.The Orgins did release a new adventures He-man. So, anything in this line is possible. The Giants are very possible in the Origins line. Maybe also crowd funding or Mattel Creations figures. Many people would definitely buy those guys👍
I received mine about a week and a half ago as well. Being a completionist with Origins, I was a bit adamant about trying to get yet another exclusive (especially for such an obscure character), but once I saw the package in hand, I have to say I’m impressed with how well he turned out! Frog Monger looks like a figure I would have loved to have had in the vintage line! Dare I say, I think he looks better than some of the other “standard” figures in this line. Again, the only downside to it being an “exclusive” is the way it’s packaged. Once I open all of these Origins figures, I’ll need to figure out the best way to open the exclusives without damaging the packaging too badly. (As far as artwork goes, I could really just scan all of the card backs and keep the files digitally…but the more exclusive stuff needs to be saved because, well…they’re exclusive!)
I was impressed by how much I liked this figure in hand! It's exciting to see a sticker concept in Figure Form 40 years later. I also got another Frog Monger figure during the Dale to have one in card, but it still hasn't shipped yet! Scanning the cards is a good idea. I usually keep the back art in a box if I can. It depends on how much damage the card took when I carefully removed it.

I'm pasting my comment from the Frog Monger video on Mr Home Arcade's channel: I regret getting this because it's an awesome figure, but I don't play the Exclusives game. The constant stress of keeping up with the releases and how they often sell out quick. I'm an adult collector for fun, not for aggravation. Just my opinion... If this was on BBTS, I'd buy it in a second.
I appreciate you stopping by and sharing your honesty. I totally understand what you're saying! The Motu brand is so cool and means a lot to many of us collectors, but it's definitely a challenge to get many figures in hand, never mind the exclusives. All you do is support what you believe in and buy what you want when you can. I'm used to the complex world of online exclusives and hard to get action figures, sometimes going back to Neca, Mcfarlane, and X plus Godzilla figures from Japan. Plus, many other things over the years.
@@Themanchlid I used to go to concerts, almost 15 years ago, when I was still able to sit in a hard plastic seat for 90+ without it killing me, and it was the same urgency. (I hate going to doctors now, because a lot of them have uncomfortable seating) Get your tickets at this set time before they are gone!!! I mean there is always the thrill of the hunt, getting that elusive figure/toy. It just gets old after a while. Not that I'm telling you anything that you don't know already. lol.
@Energy Turtle Yeah, I know what you mean! I have my rheumatologist appointment in two days. I go every two months. My pain and stiffness are awful.. When I get out or make videos. I have to really pace myself! I just filmed this video and edited it, then uploaded it, too. I'm laying in bed with horrible nerve and spinal pain just from sitting up in a chair filmed for minutes. Sucks! It is what it is! Then, the toys that make us happy gotta be another stressful challenge to buy! Lol

I have headaches all the time in my forehead and temples, Pain in my bicep area down to my elbow, in my thighs, and in my rear area too (afraid to use certain words becuase of youtube, lol). I really like the figure 💯 n Nice review! I think it would make a good army builder if you take the backpack off any additional ones you get, so there's only 1 true frog monger. That's what I did 😆

Yeah, I saw the artist illustration shortly after I made the video hinting certain parts on Frog Monger can be used for a Modulok figure. Hopefully there's one in the works.
Cool figure but I'm passing on exclusives unless I really feel they are needed. Like Grizzlor had to have him. They made this guy....What about Lizard 🦎Man from the Animated 80s cartoon. Or Strong 💪 Arm...I'd buy those. This figure isn't bad though...Fits in nice with the line. I can see why people want this one. Better then He-Skeletor. That is just dumb Imo. Already have many different repaint He-mans...Nothing beats the O.G Faker!!!!

The Classics made a Lizard man. Maybe Origins will, too. I'm mixed on He Skeletor coming up. Looks like a lazy repaint for sure. Aside from that, this figure came out better than I thought, and I was glad to get one👍

From his sci-fi design, I wonder if he's tie-in with the owner of the space suit in the Grayskull throne room, originally? 🤔 Does the book specify if he's good or evil?
No, the book doesn't mention anything about the space suit in the Catsule greyskull. He was once a prince who sold black magic to both The Snakemen and Other good kings or anyone. He was double crossed by the Snakemen and turned to a frog man. He then felt so ashamed he hid in the Dwell of Souls. More or less, he doesn't care about either side. But He-man needed his help and made a deal to save King Randor, who was put into a deep sleep from the Snakemen poison.
@@Themanchlid but that's just what his story is now. When I saw the collar and the space rifle and that he was from the dungeon, my imagination kicks in as "What if?" The suit owner was a space police and he is one of the criminals he apprehended from way back then. Like the heights of the 80s sci-fi domination. Like Buck Roger's or Star Wars or Flash Gordon or Space Invaders. 😱 I think I'll make him like that in my Eternia. 🤔 None of that Frog Prince Disney stuff. 😁
@Geff E Ternal Sounds good! The best part with collection this Motu stuff or any action figure line is that we can create, customize, or imagine whatever we want for our figures. I don't always go by their the story or bios. I just create my own in my head or collection👍

I'm not sure what that whole setup is supposed to be. I thought maybe a control device or part of his prison, as you mentioned. I think it's just an armor neck collar with a jet pack from other promotional art saw somewhere before. Plus, he came out of the Dungeon in the comic book when He-man went looking for him. I don't think he was locked up against his will.
Yeah, it's so cool to see this figure brought to life from that sticker going back 40 years ago! I like the way they designed him and created that comic telling a story of his past and creation in the Motu Universe. It would really be cool if they made some of those other creatures as an accessory set like the Origins catsule greyskull Accessories set with that dungeon or gateway to the Dwell of souls👍
@@Themanchlid It's amazing how now that I remember one of those creatures was in prison with man at arms in the revelations cartoon. You never know with Mattel🙂 So much stuff is coming this year and Im excited 😃😃😃 Would also love to see some of these in masterverse form eventually ✨
@Jigsaw Nora Yeah, i think those gaurds in the revalation cartoon were made up minions or soldiers of Mer-man. I can see those figures coming to the Masterverse line because they had a very similar buck and design going back to the Revalation Mer-man figure. So, most of Tooling is already made aside a new head and accessories. It's such a tease when we see or get certain figures or characters in the Classics, Masterverse, and Origins style, but then not a version in each line. Sometimes, we do. Like He-man, Skeletor, and Hordak, for example! We have those characters and even some variations in all three lines. But then a unique figure comes around like this Frog Monger, and he was only designed for the Origins and not sure if we can get one in the Masterverse line because it depends on fan demand and the cost to tool that new figure and the box art. Never mind seeing one on the Classics line as that series is finished for now. There are so many possibilities out there to do with the MOTU character franchise with figures. Time tell what we see and get! It's so exciting but yet disappointing sometimes for the above reasons I mentioned!

Hopefully the jetpack if blast effect compatible despite the figure not coming with his own blast effect.

Frog Monger even appeared on the Rise of Evil box art as well. I feel like maybe one other box too.

Does the book specify if he's good or evil?
No, the book doesn't mention anything about the space suit in the Catsule greyskull. He was once a prince who sold black magic to both The Snakemen and Other good kings or anyone. He was double crossed by the Snakemen and turned to a frog man. He then felt so ashamed he hid in the Dwell of Souls. More or less, he doesn't care about either side. But He-man needed his help and made a deal to save King Randor, who was put into a deep sleep from the Snakemen poison.
@@Themanchlid but that's just what his story is now. When I saw the collar and the space rifle and that he was from the dungeon, my imagination kicks in as "What if?" The suit owner was a space police and he is one of the criminals he apprehended from way back then. Like the heights of the 80s sci-fi domination. Like Buck Roger's or Star Wars or Flash Gordon or Space Invaders. 😱
I think I'll make him like that in my Eternia. 🤔

@Geff E Ternal Sounds good! The best part with collection this Motu stuff or any action figure line is that we can create, customize, or imagine whatever we want for our figures. I don't always go by their the story or bios. I just create my own in my head or collection👍

Maybe the neck is part of his prison
I'm not sure what that whole setup is supposed to be. I thought maybe a control device or part of his prison, as you mentioned. I think it's just an armor neck collar with a jet pack from other promotional art saw somewhere before. Plus, he came out of the Dungeon in the comic book when He-man went looking for him. I don't think he was locked up against his will.

It's neat that Mattel is utilizing characters from the stickers in the castles prison. He definitely stands out with that bright green✨✨✨
Yeah, it's so cool to see this figure brought to life from that sticker going back 40 years ago! I like the way they designed him and created that comic telling a story of his past and creation in the Motu Universe. It would really be cool if they made some of those other creatures as an accessory set like the Origins catsule greyskull Accessories set with that dungeon or gateway to the Dwell of souls👍
@@Themanchlid It's amazing how now that I remember one of those creatures was in prison with man at arms in the revelations cartoon. You never know with Mattel🙂

@Jigsaw Nora Yeah, i think those gaurds in the revalation cartoon were made up minions or soldiers of Mer-man. I can see those figures coming to the Masterverse line because they had a very similar buck and design going back to the Revalation Mer-man figure. So, most of Tooling is already made aside a new head and accessories. It's such a tease when we see or get certain figures or characters in the Classics, Masterverse, and Origins style, but then not a version in each line. Sometimes, we do. Like He-man, Skeletor, and Hordak, for example! We have those characters and even some variations in all three lines. But then a unique figure comes around like this Frog Monger, and he was only designed for the Origins and not sure if we can get one in the Masterverse line because it depends on fan demand and the cost to tool that new figure and the box art. Never mind seeing one on the Classics line as that series is finished for now. There are so many possibilities out there to do with the MOTU character franchise with figures. Time tell what we see and get! It's so exciting but yet disappointing sometimes for the above reasons I mentioned!
