- This FMS P-47 is only 1.5M, but seems HUGE compared to my Eflite P-47 1.2M. Big difference for sure. In this video I do a detailed build and some slight modifications and special touches that I like to impart on these planes.

Outstanding shipmate. Press on. USS Kitty Hawk CV-63. Jan 1980 to July 1983. RC er for life.
Appreciate it..
That's an awesome bird! I have the same plane and I am going to maiden her in the morning! I will come back tomorrow and let you know how it went. Maybe I can get the wife to take a video or some pictures! Until then have a good night and be back tomorrow.
Hope your maiden was great and uneventful. The weather in STL continues to look bad.. Not sure when the heck I'm gonna get out to maiden.. Ugggggg
Good job of getting a lot of little details done well. They sure fly better when they are put together in a more 'true' manner. I am thinking that this will handle so well that you will have lots of great landings - and not have to worry about her flipping over. ( We can hope! ) I am looking forward to your flight video!
Thanks buddy. I'm hoping to maiden soon.. Many folks have said its a spectacular plane.. So, I'm really looking forward to putting her through the paces.
Cool plane, love the prop!
Ross the prop loves you too....
Great video with a lot of great info!
Thanks.. Appreciate you watching and commenting.. Means alot...
Excellent build vid Will. This one requires a bit more modeling than some PNP's for sure, but man is it worth it. I can't wait to hear what you think of flying it. Such an excellent flyer.
Thanks Adam. I'm chomping at the bit to get her in the air... Such a good looking plane.
Carbon rod in rudder pretty cool trick...🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌😎😎
Rudder !!!!
Ah i see .
One more american enjoying the hobby. Thanks for making these videos they are helping lots of new RC pilot out there.
Thanks.. I've learned the hard way. Funny, now that I've done this mod, I'm sure I'll never flip her over.. :-)
Thanks Alex, that means a lot. - Will
I just unpacked mine today and looked through everything and looks good. I would like to put a Spek 630 rx in there but not sure if I should completely bypass the FMS reflex system so I can use as3x and safe or if I can leave the refelex in and still use the 630 for as3x and safe somehow.
Loved the other tips you gave out in the build especially the rudder rod to help stop the tail crush .
Cheers
Bob
Bob, If you want to use the AR630 and Spektrum gyro, I'd rip out the reflex system and route all those servo cables into the 630. No need to have that Reflex in there making things more complex than they need to be. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. - Will
Thanks Will for the good advice
The newer Tigercat has different wing plugs and no issues with them. I had the silver version and made my own connectors as I did on my FMS P-47
Yep, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with these bullet connectors.. I did remove the connector from the fuse as others did. But, I have a mess of MPX connectors, so I may go that route. My Tigercat runs perfect on MPX.. Thanks Mikey...
Really good advice nice looking p-47 I have the e-flite oP-47.are the wing screws big enough so I might not lose them for transportation this size would not fit in my vehicle fully assembled good video ☺👍👍👍
I put my screws in a small ziplock and keep it in the battery compartment. Also, a few extras in my field kit.
Ok thanks looks like a upgrade☺ from my e-flite P-47@@SteffenRC
I wouldn't actually say you needed it Will.
Of all people, You'd understand the NEED to get/have more planes... 🙂
@@SteffenRC well you have me there but I did say I’d sell you my 17mm P-47. I’d say mines bigger than yours.
What are you putting di electric grease on? You do know that kills electric signals [hence the name] I could see if if signals were getting out, or keeping it in, but if you put directly on to prongs you are definitely going to have a problem.
I applied a minute film on the prongs.. I've not heard that is kills and electrical signal.. I guess I need to do some research on this.. I've used this on automotive connections for years without issues.. I'll dig into this.. Thanks for the heads up.. Will
Have yet to have those tyype post connectors fail on me from FMS so far
I flew my Tigercat on the old connectors for a while.. Then one day, the left wing didn't respond on my preflight test.. So, replace them. I'm a little gun shy of them.
@@SteffenRC Always better to be safe than sorry on a large beautiful warbird like that thing Steffen
I like jugs, subbd, nice channel.
Thanks John.. Many of us like Jugs.. (Oh this could get me de-moneized....).
OKAY... this model is NOT enormous. Further more, it's from China. Moreover, it is a foam airplane. Get serious. Stop all the BS.
Thanks for your comments…
