FMS has totally stepped up their game over the past year or so. Incredible plane review. My opinion this is one of your best maiden flight videos. Not that any of the others were not good. You and Megan are just absolutely getting it done. Thank you both. God bless.
Got this plane for Christmas as a gift from the wife... Absolutely love this plane. As my first Warbird ever... its quite easy to fly in my opinion and looks great in the air...
This is a fantastic plane and is at present my favourite RC plane! I have made some upgrades to mine with Draco's motor and ESC along with a FMS V3 Corsair 18 inch prop (18x11). Also fitted a set of Robart 3-3/4 straight treaded wheels which are a huge improvement over the awful stock wheels which are like concrete blocks.. It flys rock solid and I can get 12+ minutes of flight time on a 7000 pack! And I don't fly with any gyro/stabilisation.
Brian, i have this plane and mine was janky during manouvers ,it turned out to be the one point wing connections.the wings flex causing connection issue . another pilot with the plane told me to remove the screws in the power blocks so they move when the wings flex . it worked perfectly and now is trouble free . great plane.
This plane is gorgeous and the scale features are perfect. FMS doesn’t get as much recognition for their planes as they should get . But with that said the new stabilization really makes it a must have plane .
I can see that. Power isn't insane, but still does well. I think we're just getting spoiled with some of these power-houses, like the Voodoo P-51 and such
Love that model of plane !! It looks awesome Brian , thanks for freezing your butt off for us . I'm still struggling with the landing on the eflight Mustang 1.5m . Now when it comes to my 1.4m FMS Zero , it lands like a dream and does touch and goes do beautifully ! I have not given up on the Mustang though !
Quick tip on battery tray loaders like this one Brian. The battery straps are what catches causing you to force the tray in. Take your exaco knife and widen the slits inwards towards the center so that the battery straps can ride further inward which allows them to clear the latches and side rails and your battery and tray will slide in much smoother/easier. (Hope I explained that well enough).
Brian I understand what ur saying it think it's great u stay with the NX8 because that's what most of us use and need ur help to setup. U maybe the first guy in history to fill up the NX8 with it's 250 plane limit before u open the NX10 up lol
Hi Brian and Mrs Camera Crew, looks like this is a great plane ! I have several Jugs myself. Winter flights are filled with lots of variables including wind sheer and cold temperatures. You are one good pilot daring to take off and land with snow burns on the side of your runway. lol Great video!!!!!! Thanks for the nice presentation passes!
I only check in here once in while now to avoid blowin more money. This plane is usually out of stock in like 10days, you have to jump on it when you want one. Brain can fly.......i am always blown away.
Wow, I really like the FMS P-47 Razorback. Actually, to tell you the truth, I absolutely love any airplane, but the P-47 climbs towards the top. I've been thinking about the prop that broke on landing. Do you think it would've failed if the air temperature had been warmer? To me 8⁰ could've made that plastic awfully brittle. This video brings me personal feelings for two reasons. One is because my grandpa was a welder, and he worked for Republic Aircraft in Evansville, Indiana where the P-47 was produced. The other is because of the CH 47 Chinook that showed up during the filming. I was in the 1st Air Calv, and the chopper that carried us was the Chinook. Anyway this video brought two parts of my past together in a special way . . . Thank you so much! You and "Camera Crew" are awesome, I mean absolutely awesome. Sorry about the long-winded blogging.
Great flight! Beautiful plane. Two things: first, I never noticed before, but you can do some serious ditch fishin' 😱 after a good rain 🌧️. Second, I still didn't see a camera crew when she spun all the way 'round. 🤔. 😂😂 This whole time Megan has been using an S21 Ultra. Wow.
I've flown in minus temps a few times with -11F being the coldest. I'll only do it if the wind is non-existent or nearly so. Like you, I can fly right outside my house so it is only about 8 to 10 minutes out in the cold and then back into the warmth of the house.
Hey Brian just so you know the bomb's clip off of the brackets that are glued on the bottom of the wing.. I just got this airplane on Monday and I think it is one of the best all around FMS airplanes out there , I would put it right next to the FMS P40 1400 mm Those 2 airplanes to me are the best FMS airplanes hands down!
If you don’t know abt the legend of Y29 during ww2. Check it out. Flying that plane, with the backdrop of snow on the ground looks a lot like the scene those brave airmen fought in at that point in the war.
Thanks! She's a great plane, and can't wait for some nicer weather to really get her broke in. She could also probably use a bit larger battery or a tiny bit of nose weight to help her pithiness...I want the elevator control, but I don't want it as quick as it was coming, so I did crank up the Expo from 10% to 20% on my middle setting...if that's not enough, I'll go a bit more. I think a 7000mAh 6S 30C would be fine, but not sure if I'll just slide the battery in without the tray? Either way, excited to get her flying even better!
I placed a pin in my canopy, I have had this happen on several different 1400 and 1500 mm planes with canopy popin off in flight. I take an oral syringe to make a canopy lock. That looks and performs perfect, no more lost canopy s.
@@BrianPhillipsRC I cut about 3/4 of an inch off the top of the syringe. I imbed it in the foam on the canopy at a level that is lower than the fuselage. Place a hole in the fuselage for the plunger of the syringe to go through into the syringe itself. I cut the top off the plunger to length of the pice of syringe I have in the canopy leaving it about a 1/4 inch long. Heat a old knife blade up push the end of the plunger on it making a perfectly round button on the end of the plunger. And the rubber is on the other end and seats at the perfect length in the syringe piece. And you have a nice little button to extract the plunger and remove the canopy. Takes about 5 minutes looks like it’s was to be part of the plane.
Brian: FYI, the same issue happened with "I Just Got Here" Grandpa Gary. The battery tray slipped backwards and popped up the canopy. Unfortunately, the battery weight change caused his plane to crash I believe. I bought this plane a month ago and I made a removeable bracket that holds keeps the battery tray from moving once it is in place.
You are doing just great with the phone but I found for me personally, a pro camcorder with a decent viewfinder is hard to beat and you soon get used to shooting with both eyes open for better awareness. I have a Canon XA40 but wish I had got the XA50 (or better) as its focus is a bit better but I am sure there are way better choices out there now.
I was just looking at this model, so your timing is great. Thanks for the through review Philip, I do rely on your model reviews before deciding to purchase my models as you continued tips and discussions on the planes answer many questions we have before purchasing. Keep up the great work.
I love flying it, but she is still pretty big. Wanted to have the wind down the runway so I could get some super slow landings. I think I want to try a 7000mAh 6S in there for our second thoughts...I bet the nose weight would be good for the flight performance.
I've been holding out buying this plane for 9 months and now I finally get to see ur review and opinion on it. Think this is the safer choice over the FMS corsair 1.7m as its easier to store and transport. Thanks Brian
damn thats big.....it's certainly got presence I'll give you that!. Brian any chance at all you do a FMS Hawker Typhoon review and test? its been out 6 years now and would certainly like your take on it....I don;t yet have one, I want one...but......
If that was my property and i wanted to make a good accesable approach for landings it drop about 4 or 5 of those tree,s and make a notch between the trees to get lower down for the approach landings
We love the tree-fence, but the one you're looking at isn't our tree line :(... HOWEVER we may add another strip on the rear part of our property, since we bought the "other half" and I want to make a full scale strip soon. Just need to get the order of my attack setup... 1) Pond 2) Building 3) Runway Extension OR New??? 4) Finish our basement so our kids will have more room 5) Another garage up close...soon our kids will be driving!!!! CRAZY In no particular order, but all seriously gonna cost some cash :(
@@BrianPhillipsRC i kinda thought that if the tree,s were on your property line you,d drop a couple of them asap! And yeah ive seen your back yard too and it would be a great place to fly from visually Brian
We will, but can't say exactly when. We had thought of possibly doing a new one with Reflex V2, so we could have them BOTH SAFE/AS3X and Reflex. Thanks for the suggestion.

What is P factor?
Torque induced when your spinning a pig prop and chewing through the air HARD enough, it wants to YANK the plane - it's most commonly felt on takeoff.
@@BrianPhillipsRCthanks! is the compensation for this, done by increasing rudder input?
