Thank you! Yeah that's part of the fun, originally, I was going to sculpt all that texture but then I decided that there's no real reason to, especially since the sock matched perfectly. I thought it was worth my sanity to just use that lol
I legitimately shed tears at the end. The amount of detail you put into Cloud's face to the point where I could read every single expression that could be used to describe his character just EXPLODED and I was absolutely mesmerized by the fact that you could capture it all with this sculpt. The general look of a man with the eyes of a soldier, yet carrying the expression like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders expressed in this one piece is so stunning that I can't help but cry a little bit, especially since the game is one of my first childhood RPGs.

Adding clay over the fabric is such a fantastic idea! Ugh and don't get me started on the AMAZING details in the hair and his shoulder pad!!!! Also, the pores seem like they took at least 50 hours to do😭😭😭 this piece should be in a FF museum this is DEDICATION🔥

Yeah originally I was going to sculpt the fabric but then I found that sock at wal mart and the pattern matched perfectly so I went that route instead. Also yeah, the texturing took a while lol. I get a little lost in that stage. Time just flies by when doing that. It’s really relaxing. ☺️

It certainly feels a lot more satisfying and fun to watch. I am glad that at least some people are doing this. When the cut is off beat, it does the work but rhythm synched cuts are just lovely!

Thanks! Yeah, I tried to give him little more emotion/feeling rather than a static or standard action pose. Part of the joy of sculpting I guess. You can try to portray the subject however you’d like. I just thought this gesture was more “Cloud” than you usually see. Thanks for watching 🙏

Thank you! Yeah, it does make me kind of want to mold this one and give him a proper paint job. I never added eyelashes to a sculpt before but I do think I prefer just a bit of painted eyes rather than sculpting them in. Maybe one day, I'll mold him up- get some glass or acrylic eyes, polish things a bit further. Idk, I try not to get too wrapped up once they're done. Since most of these are just personal works to scratch the itch. Just sort of onto the next. Thanks for watching :)

Thank you! Yea that’s basically what I’m doing is making the foundation so it all reads as musculature/human form. That step is really fun because you get to be kind of loose and fluid with things.
Honestly, you could make your videos last ten times as long and I would still watch and thoroughly enjoy every single second of them. The level of dedication and attention to detail you add to your work along with the production values of the actual video is nothing short of insane.

I absolutely loved this! The detail is insane! I'd love to see another character from Square Enix get sculptured, specifically one of the Heroes from the Dragon Quest series.

@@SculptureGeek I absolutely love the Dragon Quest series, the designs on the Heroes are hard to choose from, but I'd say the Hero from Dragon Quest 3, 4, 6, 8 or 11. Those ones would be my personal choice since I think their designs could turn out really sick sculpted. I'll leave the choice of which Hero up to you! Glad to see another fan of the Dragon Quest series!

Thank you! It was a bit of an experiment. I always love doing some pore texture and skin wrinkles are also fun. Tough to achieve a good balance and not overdo it. Cloud is so soft and subtle lol.

Hey Marcelo! Definitely would love to do Chrono someday! Always loved Frog as well. Something about frog characters lol. I'm in the minority camp of people who like Slippy toad from Starfox even, and heck while I'm on the subject, Battletoads would be awesome too XD So many fun sculpts and not enough hours in the day lol. Chrono though, yeah that would make for an awesome video! Can we get a remaster already?
I love how the style is anime but the planes on the face are still anatomically correct. Way to go. Worth the wait!

Wow. Chris- this is, as always, incredibly astounding work; your attention to detail, and overall craftsmanship are bar-none the best I know of in the community. Not to mention how continually I find myself in awe of both you and your process. Please, know that you have been, and ARE a true inspiration to so many of us, myself included; if life was going a bit differently for me, I think I'd have loved to be doing the same; sculpting always felt like the medium I thrived most in. But alas, haha. 😅
I also wanted to take the chance to send our deepest condolences for the loss you've been enduring; I can wholly empathize with you- as unfortunately we've endured multiple losses somewhat recently and with that in mind our hearts pour out for you and Miko. Ultimately to me, our cats, dogs, and most all pets are our family, and losing someone that close will never be easy, or be made easier by any means other than being given the time to mourn however you may. I hope everything in your life continues to brighten with each sunrise, and that more joyous times befall you soon ~

I completely agree. I don't even look at Miko as if she was my pet, she was my friend and there through thick and thin. She enriched my life in more ways than I could ever imagine and the one piece of solace that I have is that I never took it for granted. I picked her up and cuddled every chance I got or whenever she asked. I always played with her and gave her all the attention, care and love that I possibly could and she returned the favor.
Even though I knew this day would eventually come, it was still like she just slipped right through my fingers. It's surreal not having her here with me, but I know she's here in spirit.
