Can I use used biopellets? I have a secondhand reactor with biopellets in it. I may have sat dormant for years. But the pellets are intact. Can I still use them?
Its actually a very nice set up. It does not matter if its rigged looking as its all hidden. What matters is it works! I have a 330 gallon that I just hooked up a large Reef Dynamics reactor to. I don't have my pellets tumbling as fast though. They said it can pulverize the pellets faster if they are tumbling too fast. The output of my reactor goes to a three way PVC fitting which makes sure all the outflow goes into the skimmer. My flow back into the main display is not completely free of tank water though. There is some mixing going on so mine could be more efficient. Only had mine going for 5 days, trying to kill off some hair algae. My damn puffer kills any sea slug or any other algae eating creature. So ill try the pellets before I get rid of him. So you have water from the tank going into to that blue barrel? Does that not defeat the purpose?
goblin072 thank you for seeing the good in this set up So many comments from people who are blinded by there desperate need to see nothing but bad in everything that exists
Helpful! Thanks. I was confused as to the rationale for needing to skim the water coming from the reactor. You cleared that up.
Thanks for the good advice, and those biopellets are moving, what type are you using?

Can I use biopellets and gfo separately but in the same sump?

it's work ?
Follow my blog to me any articles and videos I post there at this link nitratebuster.blogspot.ca/
nitrate buster a bp reactor should not look like a popcorn maker. tooo much flow !!
I tried Bio Pellets before. They got all mushy and I stopped. Not enough water flow?
I see nice :) thank for the comment :)
GHETTO RIGGED SYSTEM AGREED BUT THE MAIN POINT IS THE IDEA IS WHAT I THINK I LIKE SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT SO THAT MEANS MORE MONEY TO SPEND
isn't that too much of a tumble?? From what I have read, too much defeats the purpose.
Your biopellet reactor output should be directed towards your skimmer
Way to much tumble and maybe by a real protien skimmer wont have to use 3 reactors.
