I was thinking the same...I admire her but this is something that is not true. People sometimes behave the way they perceive things to be...not the how you want them to..at least in the first meeting
I think what she meant was. Casting couch is wrong either ways but when one acts desperate then there is a better chance for people to exploit that person. But when you make a stand that you're not desperate for an opportunity or for money it is very unlikely for someone to approach for a casting couch. It is best to never reveal our weaknesses and vulnerabilities. You can be desperate for money or opportunity but don't act like it. I'm in the film industry. So I know how this works.
@A BK I work in the south industry. It is pretty fucked up here too. 😂😂😂😂 🙏 Yeh sab casting couch wale incidents schools aur colleges meh bhi hothe hai. Recently in Chennai school students were subjected to sexual abuse by their teacher. So these things are happening in almost every industry like sports,IT companies, hospitals etc... So how do we protect ourselves from these sexual predators? By being as cautious as possible.

and i strongly feel they toatlly inavlidated the countless casting couch incidents and exploitation here. Some women may be as modest as possible and set their boundaries and there will still be idiots who will exploit them. I disagree with here and Anupam Kher

@@newsjunkieish one can't really judge someone by just an opinion. She has had enough struggle and she definitely understands the industry better than us audience. Although her point will not always be true it does apply to certain situations. Casting couch does exist! That's a reality but it depends upon who falls prey to it! This woman did Dirty Picture... The movie in itself talks about the industry and how things work (Naseeruddin' s character using her for physical pleasure) and here on the couch she is denying the same. Even though I admire Vidya's work and journey a lot but I cannot agree with this comment of we dictate how people behave with us. In most cases yes probably, but in many instances we cannot control the behavior of the lunatics in front of us. A predator will strike no matter what someone else's behavior is. It is almost shifting blame to the victim, you behaved "badly" hence you got bullied, harassed, raped etc. etc. It does not work that way, sorry.
