This is going to sound pathetic but you’ll never know what this little video has done for me. I’m 15 months into being single after 20 years and I was near in tears at the thought of one more thing going wrong when my dishwasher stopped working. It was one of those jobs I would always have just delegated to my bloke. I was moments away from calling a dishwasher mechanic when I thought - harden up woman - surely there’s a video online that you can check out. Well I did, it was yours and I fixed it easily in minutes! Thank you. So silly but I feel so empowered by this one small act and it is a genuine ‘moment’ in my new single life. What made me even prouder was when my daughter got home from school to me tackling and succeeding at this, she was so proud of me. Actually asked who this new mummy was!!! 😜🤣
I LOVE this - you rock sister!
Impeller
Wow, I just had the same experience as a single mum, whilst the dishwasher is insured, the thought of waiting for a couple of weeks for a mechanic filled me with dread, so i did the same as you and thought there must be a video! Girl Power! xx
That's fantastic to hear Rebecca and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated. That's why I do these videos, as I have struggled so much with DIY and UA-cam has been an absolute blessing - so thought I'd have a go from a complete novice point of view too!
Well done! Who would have thought I'd find such an uplifting story in the comments section of a UA-cam video on dishwasher repair? You never know where life is going to take you.
Im 31 and I live alone … new apartment… and I was devastated and I found your video … machine is working thank you so much
You're welcome Mila and thank you for taking the time to leave a comment!
Dude you just saved me like $300. I’ve never attempted to fix a dishwasher in my life. Watched your video,…fixed in 10 mins! I owe you some beers! Thank you!
Let me know if you get his address… I’ll add a six pack or two.
Haha - thanks Ryan, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Piece of broken glass stuck in the impeller. With your video showing me how to access the impeller...I was able to remove it and now all is well. The little victories in life I savor. Thank you very much for your video...a great help to many!!
Thanks Bradley and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Thank you soo much! My husband had a stroke and is now disabled and in a wheelchair so I do all repairs, etc. was so discouraged when dishwasher stopped working. After watching your video I did exactly what you showed and it worked!! There were several little pieces of broken glass in the bottom. Appreciate your video very much!
I watched 4-5 videos….I had cleaned the filter and pump but still got the same error. I then found your video. Finally…You’re the only one that said to check for glass! Yay! Got abs removed. Everything works well now! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Thanks Andrea, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Mate, this worked a treat. Thank you so much for the straight forward advice. Nothing beats a spoon, a turkey baster, and a Dad with no choice. The only disappointment was that awful Chelsea mug.
Haha!
Had visions of an expensive call out, but I whipped off the cover and found a piece of plastic in the impeller housing. 5 minutes later, all back together and working perfectly...life saver, thank you thank you!
Haha - thanks Participant, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Thank you for this video! After removing the filter and cleaning it out with no success on restarting, I drummed up the courage to take off the plastic cover to the drain pump and found a piece of glass. Replaced the cover / filter etc and the dishwasher is working! Saved a $130 + service call.
Thanks Marion, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Just another satisfied customer who was able to clear their own drain! Thank you!
Thank you so much! With the pandemic, I am trying to fix what I can. Once I got the water out, it legit took only 3 minutes to fix, and saved me hundreds on a service call! I'm running a cleaning tablet through now, and so far no more error messages. You rock!
You're welcome and glad you found useful!
Thank you very much for this simple fix. You saved me a big hassle of not having a dishwasher till the repair person came to repair it. Somehow a plastic star about the size of a dime was in the drainage pump. I removed it and cleaned around and my dishwasher works great again!!!
Thank you for this video!!! I was just thinking what else could go wrong when the dishwasher threw the e25 code. Your instructions saved me a unpaid day off or a repair cost.
Thanks Donnie, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Great video, just saved us from waiting a week on a service call. Found a tiny piece of glass in there. Thanks from Fort Worth, TX, USA. 🎉
Thank you for taking the time to post this; you just saved me hundreds in a service call for 5 minutes of cleaning! Really appreciate it!
That's great Chris and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
My husband said “don’t listen to a Chelsea fan”….as he’s a Liverpool fan 🤣😃. HOWEVER, your video helped me clear my dishwasher clog….thank you very much!! 😂😂🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for your help. That's exactly what I needed to solve the problem on Friday night. Who would wait for a repairman until Monday.....
Sir, thank you very much for this video. I just repaired my dishwasher following your steps and I found a piece of plastic from a pan handle. surely you saved a few hundred dollars in our pocket. Ty again
Thanks , I had some small pieces of glass at the bottom of the sump, but the impeller spin freely. I'd never worked out the pump cover without your video
Thank you! It's great to have informative videos that don't click bait you into a 10 minute version of something that can take 3 minutes. Bravo.
Everything went exactly as you said it would. Dug my finger in the propeller and pulled out a big wad of string and gunk. Works like brand new again. Thanks so much!!!
Haha - thanks Cor, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Just came to say thanks for your help! In a house full of grown men, the only women had actually fixed the dishwasher 💪 had a piece of plastic in that impeller part and my partner just said “I didn’t know that part came off”
Yes yes yes!!! A small rubber band was inside, took it out and I'm back in business! Thx a lot!
Thanks Ozzy, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Just the bit of help I needed to sort out E25. Sorted in 10 minutes. Wish I hadn't wasted 30 minutes before I had a look on youtube. Thanks!
Thanks Roddy, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
I love You! Within 10 minutes, i had my machine doing my dishes for me. My life is way better because of your video. I know, you did not cure cancer, but having a working DW and a working W and D is so so sweet!
You're welcome and glad you found useful!
Thanks! Exactly what we needed!
Note for others: Our model had a slightly different bit at the bottom, didn't need the spoon, it came with a tab you could turn but everything else was spot on.
You're welcome and glad you found useful!
My wife and I both viewed your video. Thank you so much for giving us the ability to tackle this fix together.
Thanks Kevin (and wife!), and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Thanks, this fixed mine. Ironically I just cleaned the filter and impeller last month, spun fine when I opened it up but I think maybe there was a little piece of sediment gumming things up
Great to hear all sorted Zak, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
I think you did a great job on this instructional video and am recommending it to my darling Southern Belle wife, Claire Lynch. She plays and sings a storm but her Bluegrass musician skills have yet to extend to simple fixes or an understanding of things mechanical. We both thank you for this! Now go check out Dolly Parton so you can see my wife singing along with her.
Haha - brilliant! Thank you for taking the time to comment Ian - much appreciated!
Thank you so much for your video, it just helped me fix my dish washer! There was a piece of glass stuck in there like you said! You saved me buying a new dish washer after the plumber told me it was stuffed! I did a jig around the kitchen when the dishwasher started again, was so happy….it made my day!! 😁 You’re a God sent!
Awesome help! Just what we needed. Finally, after one week of wishing the problem would solve itself, we fixed it. Thumbs up for a short, to the point, and helpful video!
Great to hear, glad it helped, and you're welcome!
I had the exact same scenario with the E25 error. This video helped me solve the problem in 10 mins. I found a rubber band that was stuck in the that tiny spinner. Thanks a million!!
thanks - a little chip of porcelain had worked its way into the impeller housing. Finding a way to fish it out was the hardest part after your great instructions
You're welcome and glad you found useful!
agree with everyone here - you made it super clear, straight-forward, and it brought me great pleasure to do this w/o paying for it!!!!
Haha - thanks BFS, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
This fixed my problem! I had a shard of ceramic floating down by the pump. Thanks for the help!
Thanks bluekapple, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Thank you, just been able to fix my dishwasher in 5 mins after watching this, brilliant video!
Haha - thanks Becky, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Thx! U helped me fixed my dishwasher after months of procrastination finding a technician. It was fatty deposit. U r the best!
You legend, just found a bread clip in mine. You’re a hero, thanks man.
Hi, thanks works 100%.. just tested this 22 DEC 2023! Now I can use the dishwasher through the Holidays Season... totally awesome. Thanks a lot, only addition would be that you can use a Vaccum Cleaner and vacuum by the rotating pump, it certainly made the difference for me.. probably a piece of glass stuck inside! Cheers!
thanks so much.. I had an e25 code and after watching your video was able to get a small piece of a broken wine glass out of the pump behind the removable pump guard,, TY TY TY
Brilliant, thanks so much! I didn’t pay attention taking the impeller cover off and so I did have to find another video in order to work out how to put it back on 🤦🏻♀️
Not to worry Justine and hope all got sorted in the end! Thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Thanks for this video! Saved me from buying a new dishwasher. The problem was a bit of glass stuck in the impeller.
Cheers! I think it was a dirty filter in our dishwasher rather than something blocking the impeller.
I've learned a lot about our dishwasher today!
That's great to hear - even if wasn't a blocked impeller, great to hear you could rule this out by checking down that far into the depths of the dishwasher!
@@beingbeta9883 turns out it was blocked and there was a bit of glass down there (which is of a colour I've never seen in my kitchen before). Unfortunately it required a plumber to remove.
But I still learned a lot 🫣😂
Thank you. Just finished a rinse cycle to test. I think I'll be cleaning out that filter regularly now.
Thanks Dave, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
This worked!!! Thank you so much... I had no idea how easy this would be to fix.
Thanks John, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Nice easy fix, clearly detailed and which saved us a load of cash this morning, thank you. Wish our filter looked as clean as yours when we took it out - must clean that more often!
Haha - thanks Ian, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Thank you very much for your excellent video. The white guard had become dislodged and it looked like a mysterious piece of broken plastic to me. This is first time fixing an electrical appliance thanks to you 😅😁
Who needs a mechanic and a huge repair bill when you've got you tube and great videos like this! It took me literally 10 minutes to drain, find the culprit, reassemble and get to washing dishes! And the best part is I didn't have to listen to my husband bitch about having yet another thing to fix! Only thing I would add is that when you grip the filter assembly you have to twist it to get it to release (on my machine anyway). Other than that GREAT video.
That's great to hear and glad you didn't have to listen to your husband bitching - haha!
THANK YOU. it took me 5 min to find the broken glass piece that was causing the problem. Cheers
Super helpful, I was able to fix the issue with very little difficulty. We now realize that we need to clean the filter regularly 😮
Thank you so much !!!! Vous avez sauvé une française désespérée. Ici, c’est la petite queue d’une nectarine qui obstruait. Je suis tellement soulagée !
Muchísimas gracias!!!
Even no understanding the video because of muy horrible english I repaired my dishwasher.
The BEST!!!!
Thank you so much!!
Arantza.
Spain.
This was exactly what I needed. Small loop of plastic at the top of the impeller. Thanks for the saved $ and for allowing me to look like the capable fixit-dad!
Amazing little video - thank you - with your help, I’ve cleared the blockage and reset our dishwasher. Only thing missing is how to put that weirdly bit of plastic back (the bit you prize out with a spoon) but i worked it out. So thanks again
Maaaaate! 2 days out from Christmas and the E25 starts flashing... Quick search and your video pops up. Following your clear instructions it literally took 5 mins to dislodge the impeller and our dishwasher is again working. Have a Christmas pint or three on me.
My man! Thanks for the short simple video. Only wish I had found it sooner! Cheers!
Haha - thanks Scott, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Thank you. You just saved me a service call. Your explanation was right on point and clearly articulated.
Thanks Chris, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Τhanks mate ! You fixed my day and my dishwasher..and the money which i didn't have for technician... (Broken glass)
Thanks TS, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Small piece of plastic for me! Thanks for the info...saved me a $75 Home Warranty claim! Much appreciated!
Thank you for this easy to follow video! I was able to fix my dishwasher myself and I’ve never felt more powerful! Lol
Thank you for taking the time to produce and post this very helpful video. Following your instructions, I found a chicken bone about the size of a large bobby pin wedged into the impeller. I didn't even have to take off the cover as half of this bone was sticking out into the well space underneath the filter. It looked like almost half of a small wishbone. What I want to know is, how did an object that large ever make it through the very fine mesh of that filter? Well, clearly it did not. But edging its way down along the side of it and then into the space under the filter seems equally impossible. And yet clearly, somehow, it happened!
Anyway, I don't know if I'll ever solve that mystery but thank you so much for saving me from an expensive service call.
Thanks! Just wanted to give you a big thank you for this video! I had found another video which required me to open the side etc but luckily I had this exact issue, two pieces of glass stuck in that little swirly thing at the bottom. All the best mate and a big thank you from Sweden.
Dude! If you`` were here now I`d literally give you the biggest hug ever. EXCELLENT video
Haha - you're welcome!
Omg I am in the process of tackling this right now . I got an E25 ! ❤brb thank you thank you !!
Fixed my problem in 5 minutes! BIG THANKS for posting that!!
What if the impeller is still spinning and the error code continues to pop up?
Thank you. Fixed my dishwasher on 5 minutes!
Haha - thanks BBBF! And thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Thanks somuch for this video... My machine wasn't working and itry fixing it by using this video it really works ..
Thanks heaps mate ! Saved me getting shafted hundreds of dollars for a very simple fix !! Legend !
Just what I needed, thanks! Excellent footage, and simple explanations, wonderful!
You're welcome Pal-Otto - glad it helped!
Okay, Being Beta -- you are the man! I fixed my Bosch error code E25 in about 15 minutes (after I went to buy a turkey baster -- hey, I cook all the time but have never hosted Thanksgiving!) Appreciate you so much -- always a fan of the UK and now even more so :) The turkey baster worked like magic to remove about a cup of water -- then I spooned out that cap on the thingie (technical term) and found two lemon seeds! The curse and bounty of living in Los Angeles with a lemon tree in our backyard. I feel so empowered by you -- and by the comment by @rebeccabowman9753 who said "harden up woman" to herself. Oh yes I am married and my songwriter/guitarist husband was keen to help but I wanted to see if I could do it. A million thank yous!
Thank you for this, it did the trick and also allowed me to look like a handy Dad who just *knew* how to fit it! 😅
Thanks, mate. I just fixed our dishwasher with your help. 🎉
Agree with all the others: Thank you for taking the time to produce and share this. Definitely saved me some $$.
Thanks for the video. Very clear to follow and fixed my problem! You saved me a service call. Thanks
Thank you, that helped me find a rubber band wrapped around the impeller
Thanks Rigor and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Thank you so much! there was a stiff plastic tab stuck in the impela or whatever you called it. We have a tab also on that white cover, but the spoon helped!
You're welcome and glad you found useful!
Thank you! This information helped me and there was a very small piece of glass in mine.
You savez my wedding mate !
A big thank from France.
Vive Chelsea !
A piece of broken glass here as well! Thanks for saving the day!
This was spot on!!!
Saved us a couple hundred bucks! Thanks!
Thanks Samson, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Wonderful - was going to call a plumber, but it was easy to quickly figure out that a piece of glass from a glass that had broken months ago must have worked its way down into the impeller. In my case, the impeller cover came off easily just pulling on the vertical tab.
Thanks Cesdewar, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Found a sewing needle in my impeller. Thank you for the video.
Septuagenarian and practically pulling my remaining hair out. Sorted! Thankyou SO much!
Thank you!!! Great video!! I just fixed my dishwasher with this video!!!
This has just helped me fix my dishwasher!! Thank you Thank you!!!
Thanks brother! Runs perfectly fine now. Boston Massachusetts.
Thank you! You just saved my life😊 dishwasher working like new again!
Thanks. I was able to fix my dishwasher. Great video because it was to the point.
You're welcome and glad you found useful!
Thank you for this post. It worked beautifully. It fixed our problem very easily.
Thanks Bonnie, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Thanks a lot for the straightfoward video. It allowed me to fix the problem quickly.
Hi YJ, you're very welcome and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!
Most dishwasher websites also issue a warning not to feel around with your bare hands, since it could possibly a chipped piece of glass.
Other than that, very helpful video.
Thanks the Spinner was jammed with a lemon pip THANKS a Million
Thanks for this! It was exactly the fix I needed.
Thanks Valerie, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
Thanks for the video. Debris removed and impeller cleared, however it still doesn't drain properly. The pump starts up then stops. Tries again a few times. Could this be indicative of hose being blocked at exit?
Great video, fit for purpose! Saved me £400 and a visit to Currys…thanks
you saved our dishwasher, thanks!
Super helpful! Was able to fix the problem on my own!
Thanks Brian, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!
You sir are a life saver!!! 🙏
Haha - thanks Andrew, and thank you for taking the time to comment - much appreciated!

Great video. Short and on the spot.
