  • Hi guys today we're going to be taking a look at a uniform which looks like an authentic Swedish M90 uniform but is actually a commercial piece made for the commercial market. Essentially, the Swedes did not copyright the M90 pattern until fairly recently (2020) which means that numerous companies could freely use this pattern on commercial gear. You'll definitely see a lot of stuff online sold as Swedish Armed Forces Surplus but was actually never used nor issued them at all. This is one example of that, and I want to show you how to spot the differences between an issued and commercial piece. Despite this, the uniform is identical in cut to a Swedish jacket of this type and the build quality is not bad either for the price.

I have one (a real one) and it is an incredibly well made piece. My favorite military jacket. Love it.

Brandit makes this amazing looking m65 jacket that's in swedish m90 camo! I've been eyeing one.

That looks very much in every way like a genuine m90 jacket except the info patch in the neck. Genuine should have the 3 crowns where the globes(?) Are on yours. And some have that pocket on the lower back like yours and some don't.( I have several years behind me in the Swedish armed forces)
Anyway looks like it could be made in a factory that delivers to the Swedish armed forces. Only rebranded.

You're spot on. I learned from others that this is the same company that makes uniform for the Swedish Armed Forces just not mean to be issued to the military.

My favorite camo along with its desert version the m90k. There are many copies available and it makes for a great and casual piece of everyday gear. The label should have the swedish military logo (three small crowns) to make it a real surplus one. BTW please improve your audio...

I have one. VERY well made as compared to the French CCE camouflage "surplus" jackets of similar styling which are light weight compared to this. If it's a commercial model, then its worth the cost.

As long as you don't wear matching pants you shouldn't be accused of stolen valor or wear both pants and jacket of any country's camo's but you have to be carefull not to wear your country's camo in public. or larping too hard.

You can wear any camouflage gear you like as long as you don’t wear any insignia or rank or unit patch ,just to clear things up otherwise they won’t be able to sell anything military

I served in the swedish army and had M90 uniform, I am pretty sure it was a white background with a black guy. So the whole red /blue thing can not be true, unless I served in commercial gear which I doubt.

I've heard people say that on Facebook groups. I have seen photos of uniforms with blue and red tags, but I'm not sure exactly what that means. Obviously since you just commented it might mean it was meant for genuine issue. This particular piece I did get brand new still sealed in plastic so regardless it was never issued, however the possibility this might be a genuine piece of surplus is quite interesting.

The color of the tag is determined by what size you wear. So there is yellow (160), Blue (170), Red (180), green (190) Brown (200+). But the thing you should be looking for if you want to check the authenticity of a piece of swedish equipment if it is marked with the three crowns of sweden.@@GearReview23

@@GearReview23 I am currently serving in the Swedish army, the different colors on the tag are sizes. and a genuine Swedish uniform must also be marked with three Crown.

@@airsoftbtkswe A crown on the tag? This one doesn't seem to have that so it's probably a commercial piece.

@@GearReview23 Yeah this jacket you have is as you said made by Active Life Equipment, these commercial pieces are made in the same factory as the issued ones and are identical in quality. Those three globes on the tag should be crowns instead on the govt. issued gear.
