    If biochar is just charcoal that’s able to naturally absorb the toxins in water like regular active carbon, shouldn’t it also be replaced at the same 3-4 week interval that we are recommended to replace activated carbon or risk the absorbed contaminants leeching back into the water at a higher concentration? Seems like the chemical filtration side of charcoal wasn’t a priority compared to its surface area. I’m not saying any of this is wrong I’m just interested in seeing how this works out long term

    Love the idea of bio char but does cutting trees down to make bio char bad for the environment etc
