    I know that this is an older video, but I wanted to thank you. I’ve just received my AE Airfusion evo and have watched all of your videos at least once to make my first setup easier.

    Nice comments Emily, I do believe this would be my inflatable kayak top choice with dropstich technology. Seems really fast, as fast as solid shell kayaks and completely foldable. Would take some time getting used to set it up :)

      Yes, it's a wonderful kayak for paddling, but it does take a few goes to nail the setup. Cheers, Emily.

    After looking at all the options from Advanced Frame, I think this is the right fit for me. I'll be doing overnight trips on smooth water, and I may attempt one class 2-3 rapid (Colorado river at Glenwood Canyon). the options are all around the same price.. would also consider the big convertible model, but that wouldn't be as good on whitewater

    • @OzinflatablekayaksAu
      @OzinflatablekayaksAu  4 роки тому

      Also, the big convertible is much, much heavier - fine if you are going tandem, but a bit difficult to get to and from the water if you are mostly solo. The AirFusion EVO, however, is nice and light. Just be aware that it is designed for flat water and can handle up to class 2 rapids, not class 3. Cheers, Emily.

    Hi Emily, thanks for the video. Can we add a fin, is it necessary for a better tracking ? How is it to dry this kayak ?

    This is my go-to video for setting up the kayak. I have decided, but not yet done, to Magic Marker the sleeves in the kayak for the various pole #s so I don't have to rely on the colander that masquerades as my memory. What is the max pressure for the various chambers? I saw 6psi in this video, but I've also seen 22 psi for the side chambers.

    • @emilypeyton6647
      @emilypeyton6647 10 місяців тому

      The side chambers can take a maximum of 6 PSI, definitely not 22! Cheers, Emily.

    Thanks for the video, your daughter is very funny and adorable. I am considering to buy this kayak for sea kayaking, can it work on the sea?. Is it possible to roll similar to a hard shell? Does it have foot pegs or something similar or how do you press with your feet? Thanks

    • @OzinflatablekayaksAu
      @OzinflatablekayaksAu  3 роки тому

      Yes, it is suitable for open ocean. Yes, it is possible to roll if you use the spray skirt. Your feet push up against the front thwart, you can adjust where you put the front thwart and where you position the seat so that you have the right length for your legs. Cheers, Emily.

    Hmmm inflatable seat but the FLOOR? I have the dropstitch floor now on my Sport and what's the floor like for legs etc?
    and seems like this takes an eternity to set up and then deflate and pack again...I paddle with hardshellers and paddleboarders and don't want to hold them up. thanks

    • @OzinflatablekayaksAu
      @OzinflatablekayaksAu  4 роки тому

      Do you have long legs? Is that why you are asking about the floor?

    • @philiplongee1149
      @philiplongee1149 4 роки тому +1

      I also have the Sport but I prefer the 1psi floor. Not a fan of dropstitch except for maybe paddleboarding. Too stiff. I also put the boat case folded under the floor below the seat above the backbone. More comfortable on a 4 hr paddle trip. Can't wait for the weather to warm so I can get back on the water.

      @@OzinflatablekayaksAu My dropstitch floor is really comfy.... the poles without an inflated seem like they might be UNcomfy..... do you feel them digging in you as you paddle, or shift weight?

    • @OzinflatablekayaksAu
      @OzinflatablekayaksAu  4 роки тому

      @@thepaulmacfarlane Actually in the EVO you are sitting on a seat pad that is inflatable drop-stitch, so you don't feel the pole at all because it is absorbed by the seat pad, does that make sense? Cheers, Emily.

    • @OzinflatablekayaksAu

    I really like this kayak but did I miss something or is there a metal pole just right in front of the kayaker's abdomen...? If that's right, it seems to me like a catastrophy waiting to happen. But maybe I'm wrong. I really loved seeing your daughter trying to "help", this was so cute.

    • @OzinflatablekayaksAu
      @OzinflatablekayaksAu  3 роки тому +1

      There's quite a distance between the deck-lift pole and the kayaker... the same distance from the kayaker to the edge of a cockpit on a hard-shell kayak, if that makes sense. I think the only time you might collide with that pole is if you got thrown from your seat doing whitewater or surfing, neither of which this kayak is suitable for. Cheers, Emily.

    Great video. I wish manufacturers would offer effective set-up videos so we know exactly how long it takes to get these ready for the water.
    By the way, you seem to take your kid's shenanigans in stride.If that was me when I was a kid, my dad would probably have given me a damned good thrashing. If it was my daughter, I'd give her a stiff talking to. I guess I've evolved a bit, but my temper would be up if my kid tried to brain me with that pole.

    If I lived in Australia it would take me three hours to check it for snakes, spiders and drop bears.
