It's really any position that has actual responsibility... I work at a powerplant and keep getting egged on to get higher certifications to be a Chief. And I don't want it. Chief engineers are in charge of entire place and responsible for everyone going home at the end of the day.
@@butwhytharum lmfao you’re right it even trickles down to restaurants. Mine been tryin to make me manager for a year but the extra responsibility isn’t worth the slight increase in pay
same with being in charge of big companies, the people who actually wanna innovate and do quality over quantity are never in a CEO or Executive positions and its run by the type of psychos that are in charge of Boeing or Apple(that anti-Art Apple ad was inhuman, literally lizard shapeshifter type of shit)
Remember what Lex Luthor said to Superman in the Justice League cartoon. Something about “do you realize how much power I would be giving up to become president?”
Jon is being modest when saying it was just a protest vote that lead to him being the most trusted in media. What happened when he left the daily show? No one else could quite fill the role and go beyond. John Oliver has probably done the best, but he fits well in his current role. As a veteran, it was awesome to see Jon attach his name to and go to bat for 9/11 responders. The speech he gave in one of those addressing of congress was one of the greatest speeches I've ever heard. Sure, he lacks some of the experience on being a politician, but a president is about being a leader of man. He can do that better than anyone else I can see in congress or otherwise. Anyone that's 30-40 years old instantly know who Jon Stewart is and will most likely trust that he is a man of principle. Younger people that discover him seem to really like him. He has never failed to win a crowd over. The only issue is that John has consistently and openly talked about not being interested in any political career. He's been having to answer questions like this for decades.
Good!! The only thing more power and vile in the U.S. political system is the RNC. Both are absolutely fucking over all citizens all of the time. (for different reasons) It's the same reasons, different "callings". I've only contributed money to two presidential politicians. Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders. It's sounds antithetical, it's not. I contributed to people that knew the system and weren't beholden to it at all.
He's always understood the voters. Speaks his mind. Not afraid to call out people's BS and he's able to articulate why it's BS. Funny. Able to speak without fumbling over every other word. He appeals to multiple age groups. Supports veterans and 911 victims. Just run already.
I hope you realize that's exactly what Trump said, too, back in the late 80's when Oprah interviewed him. If Jon ever decides to run for President, you should NEVER trust him again! Politics are what they are for a reason.
!,....."Why somebody like you should run." ...! Hmm; already we have evidence a comedian can do a pretty good job of running a country, Volodymyr Zelenskyy the President of Ukraine, while also standing up against one of the world's most powerful authoritarians, Russia's President Vladimir Putin. Mr Stewart has done masterful job revealing all the major wrongs with our government, along with how American life and society has steadily marched backwards away from the ideals she was founded on for the last several decades...while mixing in a sophisticated, intelligent dose of humor all along the way. "Humor is the best medicine" has proven true, once again. Excellent! IMHO, regardless who becomes POTUS this November, Jon needs to begin (if he already isn't) putting together his Platform's road-map, injecting it into his already established audience, how to combat, and reverse the many issues within our government that need addressing to get our Nation back to "of the people, by the people, and for the people", instead of the multi-millionaire, and their elitist, wealth-class cronies that now infest congress. Similar approaches, likewise, need formulated, and presented (perhaps to start with as mere challenges to the status quo), on how to rain-in the amoral nature of SCOTUS; as well as the rest of our Judicial System, top-down! Our Nation is sick, has been sick for sometime now. Its legal, ethical, and performative standards all need a good tune-up, if not a great big kick in the ass. As a body we have been at once politically lethargic, disinterested in, and kept distracted by a never-ending sequence of cleverly crafted distractions and conflated events designed to keep meaningful pressure off elected officials...and it shows by their less than lac-luster job performances. This has to be changed; much larger percentages of "the average American" public have to be energized into proactive'ism if any meaningful, positive change for the better for the majority of us is to begin to take hold, last long enough to trickle-up into a revitalized Federal government. It will not be easy, and it will not be quick, our Nation has been too sick for too long for National vitality for all of us to suddenly reemerge, but it must if America is to survive, and all that at core hinges on greater, passionate participation by the "other 99% of us", our middle and lower class's participation. That's where Jon's appeal is most strong; that is where Jon's strength will grow from. Joh will not be able to do anywhere near all of this on his own, shouldn't be expected to either. Rather, from within the existing, growing body of Progressive social media's rising stars, along with the few rare jewels of pro-people thinkers already in Congress there exists a wide field of passionate, intelligent, sophisticated help he can choose and craft from. Likewise, within corporate America there also exists similar numbers of "the bottom-line is not the bottom-line" business leaders who should be melded into Joh's inner circles of Lead by Example portfolio. Nuff said for now.
And what works in his favor, among a million other reasons, he has solid proof how he has pushed back hard against the republicans AND the democratic establishment and and many time has made them bend the knee in a humiliating fashion. Man I hope this guy runs.
YES LET'S DO THAT. KYLE HELP US DRAFT JON STEWART NOW FOR THIS YEAR. WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE BUT EVERYTHING AND I MEAN EVERYTHING--SUCH AS LIFE ON EARTH--TO GAIN.
There is a scene from Gladiator that sums this up perfectly. MAXIMUS: What will you have me do Caesar? MARCUS: I want you to become the protector of Rome after I die. I will empower you, to one end alone, to give power back to the people of Rome and end the corruption that has crippled it. Will you accept this great honour that I have offered? MAXIMUS: With all my heart, no. MARCUS: [Tenderly holding Maximus' head with both hands]: Maximus, that is why it must be you.
Not to ruin the illusion, but he's said that oftentimes he'll wear basketball shorts with the jacket since it's off screen. I mean, that might actually fit the vibe of the games, I've never played one.
Literally everybody is already so captured by special interests there's no chance at finding another person like Jon Stewart who would run. Jon is the guy!
Not only would he get every single left leaning vote, he'd get most of the independents and he'd probably get some lean red states and only lose the solid red states. He'd win easily.
Hopefully he would win. The right would run with "woke, Hollywood elitist.". Unfortunately you'll have antisemitic people in there as well. With the good he has done for first responders, veterans, and unions, he should get some people that would vote right to vote for him. I think he would win, but it wouldn't be a landslide.
The real challenge will be winning the democratic primary. The establishment could just repeat what they did in 2020 and coalece behind one candidate. Or maybe allow a center left candidate like Warren to run and take away votes from Stewart.
B+ is policy is light years ahead of the Z grade of D/R. Yes, F does not describe the level of failure we have to give it the last letter in the alphabet.
Hes right but he underestimates just how strongly people love him. He would win. If he announced I would literally jump for joy. I would go to the ends of the earth for this man.

He's one of the few people on the left who has the respect of liberals, leftists, and low-information democrats. I think if he ran, the establishment media would be forced to give him the respect that they wouldn't give bernie sanders or other leftists. He should give it a shot at some point.
Jon Stewart should have run for president in 2024. If he threw his hat into the race in 2024, we might not have to worry about the possibility of Trump getting back into office, and Stewart would be 1,000 times better than Biden.
HOW DO WE GO ABOUT DRAFTING HIM RIGHT NOW. HE COULD BE BIDEN REPLACEMENT AT THE CONVENTION THIS SUMMER. FOLKS YOU ALL ARE MISSING THE OBVIOUS POINT, WE DO NOT HAVE A TOMORROW WITHOUT HIM NOW.

It depends on your goal and your theory about how to secure a whitehouse electoral win. I really like Alex Lichtman's 13 keys. In that system being the incumbent and not having a serious primary challenge are big components of getting elected. If the goal is to prevent Trump from getting into office, and if your theory of how to do that aligns with the 13 keys method, then the correct thing is to not run a primary challenge. If your goal is different (there are rational reasons to prefer other goals) or if you disagree with that model (there are rational reasons to disagree with the 13 keys) then you may of course feel differently. But there is a rational basis for Jon to not run until 2028, assuming he is open to running at all.
These videos and conversations always bring back pete davidsons joke when jon stewart won the Mark Twain award, "he should run for president but he's smart enough not to want the job"
Jon Stewart has so much going for him. He's a good person, not bought and paid for, has the common touch, and as Kyle says - would steal the spotlight. With his charm, wit, charisma, & eminently reasonable thoughts could he lure some Trump voters to reconsider the value of critical thinking?
I usually don’t endorse celebrities for president… BUT given his political acumen and history I’d vote for him in a heartbeat. Even with him saying no to running for President. his finger is on the pulse of America.
Just let Jon steward be, he has been asked this very same question almost close to two decades. Stop copping Kyle,I been hearing this from you over 10 years.

Imagine they pull up videos of Kyle saying stuff like “clapping cheeks” to hurt his campaign or when he mentioned that mohels “s*ck baby dicks” during the circumcision procedure 😂 …which is disgusting….
Maybe I’m just hearing what I wanna hear…. But Jon’s answer definitely gave me the vibe of those tiptoe-around-the-question answers that politicians give right before they announce their campaign. Edit: Jon, not John
It infuriates me when he says he doesn't want to do it. If he entered the race, he would win. Hands down. There would be no doubt. And this would save the country. It would frikkin' save the country! And...he doesn't want to do it? WTF.
I just don’t understand why people like John Stewart doesn’t actually run for president 2024 because our country needs a extremely good honest president now not later
Basic history, JFK, MLK, and Malcom X all made the mistake of questing capitalism and you'll recall they are died around the same time. You can talk racsim all you want but capitalism is where the elites draw the line. It's likely Stewart would end up Epsteined.
I still have a Stuart/Colbert 2008 magnet on my fridge. Jon Stewart has brains, wit and empathy, qualities I've only seen from Bernie. If you can hear us Jon? Please run.

If Jon Stewart has a failing, it's that he's too modest and self deprecating at times. That's IF he has a failing. I would personally give him more credit in reference to that poll from years back saying he's more trusted than mainstream news anchors. Yeah, the media has lost a lot of credibility the past few decades, but Jon Stewart is a very genuine guy and that comes across. You can't fake real and this guy is as real as real gets. That's why people genuinely trust him.
My dad has had a "Jon Stewart for president" bumper sticker on his car for years. I also started a Move On petition a few years ago to try and get signatures to say that we think Jon should run for president.
Yeah, that is one of the greatest lies in American politiics is that the Democratic party is the 'left'. Trump isn't the only well know fraud, right chuck? Oh wait, Chuck Schumer has been very public that he's represents white color suburban republicans. Now there's someone I'd love to see replaced by an actual human being.
He's so media savvy and such a good, sharp conversationalist that I don't see anyone beating him in a debate and I think he could run circles around even the best media hitjob attempts.
I’d vote for him if he presented us with a platform that actually addresses the needs of the working class before ANY corporation, billionaire or foreign nations. I’m not voting for personalities, I’m voting for POLICIES.
I'm sorry but which candidate had policies? Obama who campainged on 'Hope and Change' and delivered Republican policies? Maybe your thinking of Clinton who ended welfare, cut social security benefits and other social programs so he only had raise taxes on the rich by 2 percent? Or is it's Biden's stunning economic success of mass homeless, incomes increasing by 2 percent but cost of living increasing by 20 percent? No one in America has been voting for policies, it's been fear.

tRump would be a afraid of Jon Stewart as Tucker Carlson is but a tRump vs Stewart debate would be awesome. tRump is such a joke you need a comedian to put him down.
Someone needs to tell Jon Stewart to go re-watch the last scenes of the first Harry Potter movie, when Dumbledore tells Harry "Only the person who wanted to find the stone, FIND it, not wield it, would be able to get it." Only a man who doesn't want power is worthy of it. The country needs him and people like him, to stand up and use their positions to say 'enough' and break a cycle that has been going for far. Too. Long.
I can honestly say, I'm doing better in today's economy. Partly because of Joe Biden, but mostly because Jon Stewart. It was Jons dedication to getting the PACT ACT passed because now I'm getting mild compensation from being exposed to burn pits and getting cancer. Thank you, Jon Stewart!

Jon's a humble guy, and he sells himself short. Back in the day he'd talk about how the Daily Show was "just" a comedy show and not to take its commentary too seriously, which I always thought was bullshit. Yes, the mainstream is often untrustworthy, but Jon is authentic AND has always added genuine value.
The fact that Jon was able to force both parties to continue funding the 9/11 medical program for First Responders, speaks to how well he is at handling situations. Dude has common sense. Add in the fact that he would be the first Jewish President, and arguably the first to basically give the middle finger to Israel, as a Jew, would be welcoming.
Kyle Kulinski should be John Stewart's campaign manager. Burnie bowed out because of his CM it was, so dumb for Burnie not to keep twisting Joe's arm by staying in until the end with the "Establishment" paint you the vote splitter then wear it as pride. To this day talking about Burnie not running till the end still angers me.

Ronald Reagan was a movie star. Clint Eastwood was a mayor. We don't need year long campaigns. The political celebrity of someone like Taylor Swift or Dolly Parton could sweep the country overnight.
That would just split the anti-Trump vote and guarantee Trump gets in. I mean... If that's your goal then great. But I'm a firm supporter of not-Trump.
Jon is underselling himself especially now after he's shown his ability to effectively get shit done in DC with both the PACT Act and the 9/11 Responders Aid. I judge Jon on those times he's gotten serious and my judgement is...he is worthy and would have my vote in a heartbeat.
There's way more to Jon Stewart than being funny. He's smart and he has an amazing ability to break down a complicated problem and speak directly to people. He makes us understand and shows us an easy way to look at a situation. He's an amazing communicator. We need him.
As you said, Jon didn't say yes, but he didn't say no either. I think what's going through his mind right now is he's considering it, but he's not sure if it's a job he thinks he's cut out for. It's also pretty clear that he doesn't seem to want to do it. He strikes me as the kind of guy who's thinking "I don't want to step into the ring, and I am begging this country to make sure I don't have to." I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see him run in 2028. Not saying he will, but he might. And personally, I believe that if Jon were to run, he would win in a landslide. He's extremely popular, he's honest, and he's funny. But above all, it's easy to see that the man really cares about this country and wants what's best for it. I really hope he does run in 2028, he is exactly what the US needs. And if I were to meet him personally, I would tell him that the very fact that he doesn't want to be president is EXACTLY the reason why he is best qualified for the job. Because that means he won't abuse his power, and he will do everything he can to do what's best for everyone. If Jon Stewart runs in 2028, he'll have my vote in a heartbeat. PLEASE JON! We need you so freakin badly!
Shoot, Kyle makes a great point about the viability of Jon as a political outsider. Many of the people I talk to on the left are wary of established politicians, and more likely to vote for someone in the public eye. His history of embarrassing Republicans is even better.
he always says he's just a comedian, but we've seen time and time again that being an "experienced politician" does not make you a good president. all we need is a GOOD PERSON.
Being president is like being a cop. The people most qualified for the job would never want to do it.
So true. Anyone who desperately wants to be pres (or any job with lots of power) probably shouldn't have that job.
same with being in charge of big companies, the people who actually wanna innovate and do quality over quantity are never in a CEO or Executive positions and its run by the type of psychos that are in charge of Boeing or Apple(that anti-Art Apple ad was inhuman, literally lizard shapeshifter type of shit)
John Oliver is great, Stephen Colbert is pretty good too but Jon Stewart was always my favorite.
I hate to be that guy, but

He's always understood the voters. Speaks his mind. Not afraid to call out people's BS and he's able to articulate why it's BS. Funny. Able to speak without fumbling over every other word. He appeals to multiple age groups. Supports veterans and 911 victims. Just run already.
He doesn't want to run, which Ironically makes him a better person for the job.

Getting on the ballot would be next to impossible tho
it’s a bit late for that
It depends on your goal and your theory about how to secure a whitehouse electoral win.

A Jon Stewart SOTU address would require no GOP response.
My dad has had a "Jon Stewart for president" bumper sticker on his car for years. I also started a Move On petition a few years ago to try and get signatures to say that we think Jon should run for president.
The Democratic Party is never the left.
Cmon Kyle *you know this.*
But Kyle keeps calling the house of reps Congress and refers to the Senate like it's not Congress. Kyle! Congress is the house and the Senate!
@@mineral520 lol
@@mineral520 Relax, dude. It's just a colloquialism. Americans have been calling members of the House of Representatives "congressmen" for years.
@@ignatiusjackson235 oh sorry, I was really worked up over it.
Do you think he WOULDNT do that..?
I'm sorry but which candidate had policies? Obama who campainged on 'Hope and Change' and delivered Republican policies? Maybe your thinking of Clinton who ended welfare, cut social security benefits and other social programs so he only had raise taxes on the rich by 2 percent? Or is it's Biden's stunning economic success of mass homeless, incomes increasing by 2 percent but cost of living increasing by 20 percent?
No one in America has been voting for policies, it's been fear.
Excellent!

@zgjfinance2796 we _know_ it wouldn't survive his inauguration...
Progress dies at the Virginia state line.
Me saying to myself... "he didn't say no... HE DIDNT SAY NO!!!"
Trump v a Stewart in a Presidential debate would be gold. That’s if Trump would turn up.
tRump would be a afraid of Jon Stewart as Tucker Carlson is but a tRump vs Stewart debate would be awesome. tRump is such a joke you need a comedian to put him down.
Stewart would humiliate trump
He won't even turn up to a Biden debate (you'll see, he'll bail with dumb excuses)... but Stewart?! He'd run away so fast.
Trump wouldn’t stand a chance. His insults would have no effect on Stewart.
Yeah... Trump would just run to """debate""" the Pelosicrats' current darling...
Too. Long.
I think if there’s any progressive candidate that would stand a chance against the establishment and media, it would be John Stewart.
As much as I would love to see Stewart to run, this country isn’t a one man show, you have so many forces at play and many of them are unseen.
Please run Stewart!
PLEASE Jon Stewart run for president

Jon's a humble guy, and he sells himself short. Back in the day he'd talk about how the Daily Show was "just" a comedy show and not to take its commentary too seriously, which I always thought was bullshit. Yes, the mainstream is often untrustworthy, but Jon is authentic AND has always added genuine value.
Although not left enough for me...1000% from me and any normal person
NO ONE would vote for Maher😂
There was a poll conducted recently, citing Bill Maher to be the most trusted in Media.

Ronald Reagan was a movie star. Clint Eastwood was a mayor. We don't need year long campaigns. The political celebrity of someone like Taylor Swift or Dolly Parton could sweep the country overnight.
He needs to run as a third party/Independent not as a democrat.
That would just split the anti-Trump vote and guarantee Trump gets in. I mean... If that's your goal then great. But I'm a firm supporter of not-Trump.
Thank you! I've been waiting a long time for someone else to say he should run.
Clicked this faster than anyone else
🎉
Imagine Stewart debating Trump. I don't think Trump would debate him. He'd be completely embarrassed.
Jon Stewart should run for president with a preselected progressive VP candidate, and once he wins the election, resign within the first year.
WHY resign?!?! Makes no sense. If Trump can run the country for four years, literally anybody can... and Stewart isn't an idiot.
@@interdimensionalsteve8172 He doesn't want to be president, so he could win and hand it over to a progressive VP that wouldn't have won the election
I’d love to see a John Stewart candidacy.
Please do. The insane support he would get and the conservative tantrums would be epic.
The problem is we don't need him in 2028. We need him NOW.
Comedian Tom Segura……aren’t we being kind. Lol.
Kyle treating Jon’s response like Hawkeye when he said “ don’t give me hope”
"The best to have power are not those who seek it, but have it thrust upon them" - Worf DS9
Jon Stewart 2024!!! The United States needs Jon's moral integrity
Jon is not anti-establishment!
Imagine a president presenting himself from the presidents seat in the White House like John Stewart’s comedy routine.
Kinda random but Kyle really looks like Al Pacino in Scarface with the suit he's wearing.
Jon is underselling himself especially now after he's shown his ability to effectively get shit done in DC with both the PACT Act and the 9/11 Responders Aid. I judge Jon on those times he's gotten serious and my judgement is...he is worthy and would have my vote in a heartbeat.
Speaking of bowls of oatmeal, we've got one in the white house right now
He needs to run for America and all of us that need him. I hope if he sees n feels that statement he runs....lets pray
There's way more to Jon Stewart than being funny. He's smart and he has an amazing ability to break down a complicated problem and speak directly to people. He makes us understand and shows us an easy way to look at a situation. He's an amazing communicator. We need him.
Jon Stewart would completely destroy and dismantle all current right wing talking points!
I was at a recording of the Problem and asked him directly with my audience question if he would ever run and he was like "No, next question"
As you said, Jon didn't say yes, but he didn't say no either. I think what's going through his mind right now is he's considering it, but he's not sure if it's a job he thinks he's cut out for. It's also pretty clear that he doesn't seem to want to do it. He strikes me as the kind of guy who's thinking "I don't want to step into the ring, and I am begging this country to make sure I don't have to."
I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see him run in 2028.
Completely agree. No notes.
Shoot, Kyle makes a great point about the viability of Jon as a political outsider. Many of the people I talk to on the left are wary of established politicians, and more likely to vote for someone in the public eye. His history of embarrassing Republicans is even better.
My household has been saying this for months
A massive write in campaign needs to be started.
I haven’t seen secular talk in years, I was like “ who the hell is this ?”
America NEEDS you, Jon!
he always says he's just a comedian, but we've seen time and time again that being an "experienced politician" does not make you a good president. all we need is a GOOD PERSON.
Al Franken would have been a great candidate, that’s who I wanted to run.
