@Seranevi One of my close friends is undertaking a sex change, you're completely correct here, if the hormones are changed early enough then you alter their older appearance. However DNA is always set. And it IS possible to have ovaries ant testicles, however it is not possible to insert ovaries into a male turning female, only when it's vice versa, and then the testicles are only for show.
Do you know what DNA is? It's like code that determines all the various traits of your body (shape of your nose, color tones, cognitive aptitudes, etc). Your DNA is determined by fusing together pieces of your parents' DNA. Some cells' DNA can get infinitesimal changes from radiation or possibly a poor environment. Basically, DNA doesn't change. As far as I can see, the only thing a sex change does to the rest of your body is alter your hormone levels (which doesn't change DNA).

It's not just about "I wanna be a girl" - she literally has always had a girls brain, but for some reason something went wrong and her body wasn't a girls body. But I'd still say the gender of a person is still more about what the brain has developed into, not about what the person looks like. Though some may think the genitalia determine persons gender,but if the brain doesn't agree, what to do?

Mammals can only survive binary sex assignment, and it cannot be reversed. A male will always be a male, even if a malformed or modified one. Female body builders often sound like men, it does not make them so.

You say there are "women" with Y chromosome (and thus no ovaries and rather malformed or internal testes). So you say there are "women" with male genetics, and yet you cannot define what a woman is. so again, "how do YOU define gender" since the scientific one is unacceptable to you.
@DeejayLarz2006 Yes, it is possible that the entire genetic makeup of the individual where nearly the whole body and sex organ development was flawe...., But it could also be that environmental influence (childhood trauma) or a tiny flaw in the small portion of the brain that deals with gender identity exists. So are 99.95% of the body's organs or the .05% that misidentifies the gender identity flawed? In the future, it would seem easier to address the tiny flaw.

Shemales are proud of who they are and happy to be that way. Take the southeast Asian "ladyboys" for example. In their culture, they are regarded as a third gender and loved!

I know that sex is the physical form of male and female while gender is about whether the person has masculine or feminine characteristics. And yes, a person with a penis can have a female gender identity. But you're no less a bird because you run around flapping your arms, than she was a female because she felt like one.

(Brain does have a gender. People can be born with a set of brains and a body that aren't the same. Sure, it's a birth defect, but it's 100% biology. And persons gender (as does their whole persona) originates from the brain.

@mrliampep5i It's a biological fact that the brain can develop a different gender than the body. It's not just about "I wanna be a girl" - she literally has always had a girls brain, but for some reason something went wrong and her body wasn't a girls body.
But I'd still say the gender of a person is still more about what the brain has developed into, not about what the person looks like.
Though some may think the genitalia determine persons gender,but if the brain doesn't agree, what to do?

Mammals can only survive binary sex assignment, and it cannot be reversed. A male will always be a male, even if a malformed or modified one. Female body builders often sound like men, it does not make them so.

@stefanybody no the subject has always been that NO WOMAN by definition can have a Y chromosome. The Y chromosome is the sex determining genetic factor. Its the genetic definition of a male. You say there are "women" with Y chromosome (and thus no ovaries and rather malformed or internal testes). So you say there are "women" with male genetics, and yet you cannot define what a woman is. so again, "how do YOU define gender" since the scientific one is unacceptable to you.
@DeejayLarz2006 Yes, it is possible that the entire genetic makeup of the individual where nearly the whole body and sex organ development was flawe...., But it could also be that environmental influence (childhood trauma) or a tiny flaw in the small portion of the brain that deals with gender identity exists.
So are 99.95% of the body's organs or the .05% that misidentifies the gender identity flawed? In the future, it would seem easier to address the tiny flaw.

So with that said, Tim wanting to become Kim was a choice that was made by he or she, whichever you prefer. Who are you or any of us to judge Kim for that? With animals as well, who are to know if they have thoughts like that? Can you read an animal's mind? No one gave you the power to judge others in such a way; judge yourself.
@enti101 that implies that we are just our bodies and don't have souls. We indeed have souls despite what people think ...and everyone has both male and female energy that create it. I'm not my body - my body is just a vehicle used to take me through this particular life. So with that said, Kim Petras may be biologically male, but her personality is influenced more by the female energy within her soul. Just because she was born biologically male doesn't mean she has to act or be male.
People need to realize that even though she was born a boy, it was ONLY biologically not mentally. Her gender was always female even from the time she was born. So you can't say "that's a dude" ...no, that's a girl. This is a very common situation, more than people actually think. See gender is all based on mentality and female energy, a person's sex is based on their biological make up. Kim's state of mind and energy is female, her outside appearance just didn't reflect that originally.
