Used to work on these one lunger's in the oilfields ( mid 1970's) in Northern North Dakota.. Easy to work on and fun to see running... Thanks for sharing...
Wow love hearing from the guys that actually did the work on these thank you for commenting I bet North Dakota was a beautiful place to be when you were there. Do you remember any of the one lunger brands you worked on?
@@frontwoodsfarmer2063 , a lot of Fairbanks... Some were quite large too... Funny watching the newbies trying to crank one up and let the handle go with it still on the wheel! Everybody diving for the window and door to get the heck out of that small building...
@@frontwoodsfarmer2063 , I was born in North Dakota, so it's always home to me... I ran those one lunger's for four years, while I was pumping oil well locations, probably about 17 of them going 24/7... They were work horses, till thunderstorms came through, then down they went... The mags and moisture didn't go together 😂😕
What you have there are 2 Fairbanks electric plant engines. They would have originally driven generators and were likely 32 volt DC systems for farms back in the day. Both engine are throttle governed not hit and miss!! If you want to know the difference I have a pretty in depth video on my channel. You did pretty well on pricing too! Doesn't look like they will need too too much to get either of them up and running again, however the one is missing its radiator and several other pieces...
Thanks for the response I will check out your video and channel I really want to learn more about these engines. I found it odd the one had that fan shroud and fan deal in it. Would that take a radiator there? Why would it have them if they have the water tanks?
I’m still unfortunately searching for a mag it seems to be extremely difficult to find and I can’t quite grasp the coil boxes people make I know there’s lots of videos explaining all this I just am having difficulty grasping it.

@@frontwoodsfarmer2063ahh, i think getting a buzz coil and making up a contact on the pushrod maybe a simple solution 😎
They are not a Hit-n-miss they are throttling governor engines 😇🙏
Correct!
Does it run ?
Still can’t locate a mag
