  • Most drivers behind you will drive to a good safe standard of driving, then there is a small few that will take risks to overtake you in some dangerous places. I will show you 3 examples of qualified drivers who are taking dangerous overtaking to get ahead of learner drivers. Taking risks to get ahead of a learner driver on a driving lesson. I am hoping that it will make the learner driver aware of the potential risks that other drivers take to get ahead of the car in front of them.

It is becoming so bad now if you abide by the law you are rare and it’s really starting to put me off driving anywhere at all tired of the abuse and tailgating 😢 for doing the correct speed limit

Don’t let the bad drivers get to you. Just keep doing the right thing and you are showing them how to drive safely.

It takes a long time to ignore people's attitudes. For me that is probably the hardest skill to master while driving. As long as you're following the laws of the road, that's all you can really do

Having a blackbox I get it all the time but I do have fun when I get to a 60 from a 30 and it’s a nice straight I’ll drop a couple gears and disappear I soon find they get off my back I find the main issue on the roads these days are people who drive one speed everywhere whether that be in a 20-30-40-50 or 60 they usually go 40 everywhere I also find these people tend to tailgate as they don’t realise you have to leave a safe gap between you and the car ahead. Most people could do with retaking there theory and practical test

2 months after getting my license, I read a statistic that said that over 90% of new drivers WILL get into an accident in their first year behind the wheel…a few days after reading that, I had my first one! 🤦🏼‍♂️

I don't know what is going on, people just seem to be faar too impatient and reckless these days in MK, too many people going 40/50 on 20/30 roads with kids in the car and pedestrians on the road. It's actually terrifying.

An all too common occurrence unfortunately. Happens with newly qualified drivers, too. An example of the latter: I remember after passing my driving test, I put P plates on my car to let drivers know that I'd just passed my test. I'd drive on a country road at around 40 mph (a reasonable speed for many country roads) and a driver would often be right up my backside, especially a van driver. One time, once the country road I was on had straightened out a bit (although not enough to go above 40, even though the limit was 60 then), a van driver saw that as an opportunity to dangerously overtake me. Still dread to think what could have happened if the driver of the van hit another oncoming car. Doesn't bare thinking about. Thanks for doing and sharing your videos, Mr T. Much appreciated.

@@JamesTravis, you're welcome, Mr T. Fortunately, that road I was explaining about has now been reduced to 40 mph, although it should have been 40 mph from the beginning imo. Although it's wider than many other country lanes, any speed greater than 40 mph would be too fast for it, even just by 1 or 2 mph. Safe driving 🚗, Mr T. Thanks for your videos. Have a good weekend and looking forward to your next videos 😀.

Had one myself last week. Coming off a roundabout onto a national speed limit, I was accelerating up mid/high 50s, maintaining a 2-3 second gap from car in front. The two lanes merged in turn, at which point the white transit van behind me decided that as we went to single lane was the perfect time to overtake the learner. They did flash their hazards after slotting into the small gap, which I and my instructor interpreted as an apology for cutting me up. Thankfully I spotted them and slowed to make room so instructor didn't have to intervene. Didn't beep the horn.

I consider myself a hybrid driver-I’m aggressive when I have to be (non dangerous & within reason) but I’m also the timid old grandma at times too haha…everybody drives differently stylistically speaking! 💭

The second clip was completely dangerous
Not only the undertake . They then went over to the right lane the back to the left lane. They simply only got away with it because it was quite.

Thanks for comments wanted to offer my experience. Only passed in 2022 but make sure I drive safely and stick to speed limit I spent lot of money, time effort to risk points, fine giving into impatient. Be wary and just do what you think to be safe ignore those who break the law.

There's too many dangerous drivers on the roads, ive always said everyone should have to resit there driving test every 5 years. Especially Taxi drivers there shocking. Every public worker has to keep up with standards and up-to-date training so why don't taxi drivers?

I think the problem does not relate to not knowing one's actions are inappropriate. It is attitude and belligerent driving. Everyone knows about the solid white lines along the carriageway and keeping left at keep left signs. The people shown are generally quite skilled, certainly above learner pass level and would pass a re-test easily. Nobody would do a test and go ninety miles an hour on a dual carriageway or use their mobile phone in traffic with the examiner sitting next to them.

I've encountered similar experience as clip 2. I was using middle lane to turn right at the roundabout (middle lane can go straight ahead or turn right while right lane can only turn right). A van overtook me using the right lane but went straight ahead to 2nd exit. At that moment, I was nearly start to turn right

As a driver who has been driving for 10 years the problem isnt learner drivers, its drivers who have passed. On a 30 they do 25 causing overtakes which your seeing in your video, on a 40 they do 30-35. they also dont understand roundabouts, also on moterways they sit in the far right lane doing the same speed as the car in the middle lane instead of overtaking, which is causing people to undertake. These 3 things make me hate driving, as your driving and confidence increase over the years you start to see others lacking behind and causing these issues

  • @cammymillard7385

First one is kinda here or there, combination of the offending driver not realising that his honda jazz can hardly pull the skin off a custard but also the driver of your car being nowhere near the speed of the road. 2nd one is absolute idiocy, no reason at all to cut into the middle lane, 3rd one is just illegal.

I see a lot of poor driving when I’m out, I just keep very regular checks and try to be as aware as I can. Getting a new car next week and transferring dash cams to that as feel they are essential. I did a free driver awareness course online last week that local police were running for free and got some useful tips from that.
