Legends, we hope you enjoyed checking out this one. We enjoy doing these talking videos. Let us know of anything you would like us to chat about below and we will try and make a future video on it! With three rough boys i installed a techsafe seat between the two front seats for those times when they need to be seperated. Turns it into a six seater with two full benches. As a bonus it folds down to an armrest when not needed, with two extra cupholders.
@@stevenwiblen7911 I did see they had this as an option a few years ago, but couldn’t really find anyone who had done it. It’s a bloody great idea mate! If I do a refit at some stage I might also look into it. Thanks for watching legend!
Love it and how much you love your troopy. We feel the same way about our Gladiator. The best car to have is the car you love. Just one thing I think your adjustable hitch may be upside down. The triangle re-enforcing should be on the bottom not the top. Love your videos and look forward to more. Matt and Leisa
Thanks heaps Matt and Leisa, we're glad you guys love your Gladiator as much as we love our Troopy! So nice having something you just want to keep! The gladiators are a cool rig! I think from memory with the tow hitch you could have it either way, and it lined up better for heights this way. Feels like ages ago was sorting that out. Seems to be working sweet
We haven't watched yet however I just told my husband that we have another 'Coastlines'. His response (while he is making the coffee) was 'that's wonderful '. We love your channel. 🎉
@RoamingCoastlines watched now. Excellent run down of your Troopie. We were 4WD driving people way back in the mid 70s in our Series 3 Landrover and a camper trailer, plus 3 kids. We are now 80 and 78 with a 19'6" Jayco Starcraft caravan and an Isuzu MUX. Graduated from our Jayco Freedom poptop. Keep up the good work and safe travelling with your lovely children. Thanks and sorry for the long comment.
@ such a cool setup that you had. I bet you guys would have seen some amazing locations and wouldn’t have had the crowds that are out there these days. So good to see that you are still getting out there enjoying it today 😊
Love the troopys, I didn’t realise you could have them as a family car until I started watching your vids. I’d get one in a heartbeat if they could tow a bigger van.
@@craigpatten8349 mate thanks so much for watching! Really appreciate it. I don’t think a lot of people realise you can run them as a family car. You must have a pretty big van? I’d say if we upgrade vans in the future it won’t be alot heavier so shouldn’t be an issue for us
@Bushhooks thanks for watching legend! Appreciate you taking the time to comment. We had ours for so many years before ever towing with it. Van has an GTM of 2500 and ATM of 2667
@@FelixOttl thanks legend! I think they are just rhino rack brand. From memory I had to get two parts. I think it’s the channel mount and then a conduit clamp
Fellow Troopy owner here. Back in the day we had a 1984 Troopy and it took our 4 kids all over the country. It was our family vehicle my wife used for school dropoff etc, so she became known as the lady with the Troopy. A few Landcruisers later, in 2019, the urge became too great and I traded a perfect 200series in on a brand new GXL Troopy. Haven't looked back. The grandchildren absolutely love it - crawling up into the back, sitting high, working the sliding windows and its very comfortable for them back there. We also tow - both a TrackTrailer Tvan on more remote trips and a 2.5T single axle offroad caravan on other trips. The 200series was a more powerful, and more stable tow vehicle, but the Troopy does it fine but like you, we don't enjoy the crosswinds. I love changing my setup every couple of years because I can. So its changed from being a pure expedition setup to being a towing setup. I try for a lightweight build to keep it capable. So no roof rack, standard tall skinny tyres, storage system is 9mm marine ply and no unnecessary barwork. So its around its 3300kg GVM when loaded on a trip (just 2 adults, no kids). Amazing vehicle and little wonder you go on a waiting list for a year to get a new one.
Mate that’s some cool history! You can see why so many people who get rid of a troopy end up wanting another down the track. I’m definitely itching to do a near rear fitout, hopefully it happens in the future! Mate thanks so much for watching the video and taking the time to leave such a great comment, it’s massively appreciated
The v8 cruiser is the bomb and people who say the 2.8 is better are delusional and will never no how good the v8 is cause they will never get to own one

San Hima are fabulous with any aftercare! My son has hit his mirrors on our side gates & they were so good at replacements!
How good is that! Great to know. Thanks so much for watching the video, it’s really appreciated

How good are Troopy's, dream car right there. I didn't realise they can work for families, going to look into this!

@ our van is 3044 tare but has a DO45 so a troopy could tow it but not with the water tanks full
@ fair enough mate! That makes sense
Magic mate, absolutely magic love mine, not towed van yet, need tow pack fitted, what are the weights your pulling?

Hey mate, love the rig! where did you get your conduit clamps from? love how they hang more over the side then on top of the rhino rack.
cheers mate

False advertising of your video title.
