Reasonably priced and well done .....I'm a retired composite boat builder and now have an aluminium canoe which I'm making into an outrigger ( proa ) canoe for snorkeling purpose . I'm saving up for one of your units . The unit rudder position seams to interferes with the prop spiral , on some sailboats the prop is moved over so the prop spiral trust is not affected . I suspect you know about this scenario but mounted the prop in such a way as to improve steering performance while losing some efficiency at the prop trust . Thanks for all your effort on improving small boat ergonomics .
Thank you Normand, Unfortunately I am no longer making PedalProps. The economy and a move to Florida put an end to home production. You are correct about the placement of the rudder, The two main reasons for it's location was simplicity of mounting and the excellent directional control it provided at this location.
@@pedalprop4300 Florida you lucky guy ...maybe I'll see you there ....my wife and I go to Florida every second year , meanwhile how do I keep in touch with you . I'm determined to have such a unit . maybe down the road I'll acquire one . Thanks for your time and have I nice life .
Keep up the good work. It‘s rate these days that a business stays authentic but in your case I can clearly see a man who‘s fulfilling his dream of creating and producing props. Greetings from Switzerland👋🏻
My patent is still good for several years so I may see about bringing it back in a slightly different form in a few years, so no open sourcing. The gearbox I used is an industrial gearbox that retails for over three hundred dollars, not some retro application.
Awesome idea. i have an inflatable, single seat, pontoon boat, with steel frame & 2 oars for paddling. Can this pedal prop power unit be used for my type of setup???
Thanks Rodney. It depends on the frame, if you tell me your make and model, I could check and see if it would work on your setup. I am planning to arrange the PedalProp for a catamaran style watercraft this spring and summer. Check in at pedalprop.com to see when this becomes available.

@@truckerray7533 It looks it would be best to just attach the pontoons to the PedalProp frame. I think the only items needed for the PP would be a front and rear cross bar extension to attach the pontoons to. It does not seem the pontoon frame would be of any benefit.
The material the boat is made of does not mater. In general, the width can be up to 44" wide and max length for solo boats is about 13' and tandem boats can be longer.

Thank you Jason. I will soon post the details on the 2021 PedalProp.
I would love one of these! The website is no longer in service. Are you still making these at all.
Hi Phil, unfortunately I am no longer producing the PedalProp. Thanks for your interest.
Thanks for a close up view.
Could you open source the design? What was the right-angle gearbox you used? (It looks familiar, perhaps from an angle grinder?)

The only thing that concerns me is the exposed chain. Otherwise, this is an absolutely brilliant design!
