It is unfortunate that 4 years later Opel Astra has not reached it's intended target market with this brilliantly charming car. Their intention to dethrone VW Polo, the mostly loved car in SA, failed dismally by not considering price reduction of the vehicle and a service plan that beat that of VW. Again it was poorly marketed.
The 1l turbo petrol might be more efficient on paper but it is a bit underpowered if you don't do use it just for city driving and as a result it will consume more fuel when you push it, as for the 1.6 turbo 200 PS 300 Nm, it is a really lovely engine and more than just a bit punchier compared to the 1.4 (0-100 km/h in 7 sec flat), for me I think that's the engine I would go for.
ghp0518 Depends how it drives the lAst Astra J. Turbo was Lazy in the Lower Rev range , so it didn't really feel nippy it always had to be kicked about to keep it on the boil , which kind of defeats the object of having a turbo
I am glad to have acquired this beautiful baby.
Tosi Kgalemone how does it feel?

Yes. Saw "Boardwalk" on navigator
I'm pondering getting one of this with less than a year (same engine, same level of equipment) or a new Honda civic 1.0.
Good review thankyou
