- Germinate carrot seeds indoors in under a week! The seed packet says fourteen to twenty one days to germinate seeds sown outdoors. I have germinated seeds this way now for a number of years then transplanted them into buckets to grow on and produce carrots. Watch me do it then give it a go yourself. If you want to grow carrots in buckets this is the way I do it. If you want a FREE blueprint to enable you to make a seed growing template Click this link: www.youtube.co...

I've watched many @yt pull out some ugly stubby carrots w/ great pride. Not good enough for me. Convinced containers give the gardener ideal environ for long straight carrots bcz of soil control. Nobody compares to your spacing/germinating methods, Jim. You're my Carrot King. Lol. Bless You. -- 🍒
I grew some carrots last fall that did amazing. Now after watching this video, I'm going to attempt to grow some this spring. Thanks.
God Bless you for sharing this wonderful tip on sprouting carrot seeds. Much love from Canada.
So nice of you
What a great, step by step tutorial! Even I can give this a go!! Thanks. 🙂
Have fun!
@@HomeGrownVeg Thank you!!!

I'm not sure if they even use polystyrene still. I think we got ours at Iceland. Perhaps they only use polystyrene on frozen pizzas?
Thanks for the info I checked on amazon and they charge 14.99 for 24 10 inch bases then I realised I have some thin plywood in the garage I think I will make some circles out of that. keep the videos coming 👍
brilliant. Thank you. What compost do I ned to use and o I make holes in the bottom of the bucket? If so, what should I use to make holes with? Thanks again. Happy gardening 😃

Was there a lid when u we’re germinating
Hi. Are those your usual flower buckets please? Reason I ask is that I thought they have a white rim, or did you line them? Or maybe I am mistaken? Thank you so much for the brilliant video. 🙏❤
Both! I had a 'see through' white plastic bucket inside a black bucket. I was wanting to lift it out at some stage to see the carrots growing in it. Need to give this another go. Jim.
@@HomeGrownVeg 😄Ah my eagle eye! I like the idea of the transparent bucket. Was that a freeby or did you buy it? I absolutely love your videos. It is you who first got me into growing veg; when I saw your tomatoe slice video.🍅 I hope the dogs are okay.🐾 Thanks for replying.❤
I got the transparent buckets given. I thought they would be no good for growing root vegetables as roots usually grow in darkness. I still have them and another go is on the cards. Thank you Jen for supporting the channel. Jim.
Good afternoon Jim do you have a link to donate
I don't Andrew. A like and a comment are all I ask. Jim.
Ohh bless you Jim, maybe just to help you cover your costs of your compost and the needs I am damn sure the majority of us would like to contribute to your channel. Just a heads up on growing potatoes in yoghurt/pot noodle pots my potatoes are growing have the flowers coming up growing.
What are you using as a planting tool with those tiny seed starts
Hello Pam. In this video I used a small screwdriver I've also used a matchstick and a pencil over the years. Jim.
@@HomeGrownVeg thank you Jim
