CCM RIDDICK, 1.2M RC Flying Wing Assembly

- The CCM Riddick is proudly made in Ukraine. This little flying wing has a 1.2 meter span. It is available as a pure glider for the slope (light and hard versions) as well as a light eclectic model for sport flying and thermal flying. It is fully composite, the wings are all carbon fiber and the fuselage is fiberglass.
Total flying weight after assembly- 336 grams or about 12oz, should thermal well! Very light.

That's a nice glider! In case you haven't flown one of these plank style wings before, you're most likely going to want way less elevator throw than you have. As in you probably only want about 3-5mm, especially as you dial the CG back. The straight wings and no tail mean they're very sensitive to CG changes, so adjustments over the specced range of a few mm will really make a difference. As you approach the rear of the CG range the elevator will become very sensitive but it will fly faster and really pump the turns.
Also don't be surprised if it needs what looks like quite a bit of up elevator trim to fly level. Flying wings need reflex in order to fly properly - sometimes it's moulded into the wing but sometimes it's not, in which case you end up trimming it in via the elevator.
These style of planes are great on the slope, but landing can be a challenge as you just can't slow them down.
The elevator was not as touchy as I thought, I did dial down the aileron throws. However your are right about the CG, 1mm change makes a massive difference! Thanks for the help!

Well, I never use the XG8 and it's easier for me to thing "just throw it the car" than the really expensive radio.
