I regretted not speccing CarPlay when I ordered mine as soon as the BMW data connection expired. Bollox to paying them £180 a year for a decent app integration. Had mine done by a guy locally (no crummy USB adapter to brick the head unit).
Done a fair bit of coding on mine via Carly.
I think it's time to get apple car play fitted to mine! Smashing video as always brett

oohhh coding i did those too, not sure if mine options are the same as yours, but, it helps a lot! i put start/stop memory on too, and those lights in reverse, a nice touch that could be shop configured already LOL

You can do all of the coding options in your video with Bimmercode for £50 and it's not tied to only one car.
Problem with that is it can mess up your ECU’s, heard it been done a few times. I mainly went there for CarPlay, the coding was just an extra ☺️. Thanks for watching mate

Does anyone have the issue with 'echo' on calls when calling through CarPlay, where the person on the other end of the phone can hear their own voice repeated? Is there a fix for this?

So if I wanted the apple car play done to my bmw, I would need to buy the new screen somewhere first? Then pay for defined coding to code it? How much does that work out as roughly? And is there a certain model screen I need to make sure I get? Cheers

I have been searching for the head unit like yours, where did you get it from??
His headunit in his car came from factory and is NBTEVO (not to sure if it’s id5 or ID6)
You can only flash apple carplay if you have id5/ID6 with pro nav
ID4 is not compatible which is why in bret 1 series he had to retrofit the carplay as it wasn’t ID5 or ID6

You can purchase NBTEVO Headunits/ screens from other coders who do retrofitting and also on eBay for around £900-£1,100
