Reminds me of my grandmother. She moved in with me when I was 16 and this game came out. She passed a few years ago at 92. She was always good to me.
Always my favourite piece from the franchise and this is the best version of it.
After waking in a strange land, a young man struggles and fights to make his way back home, only to find everything he knows in ruins, as it has been for a thousand years.
Then this plays.
The soundtrack to a person losing everything, but with the melancholy hope given to them through new friendships, and a pure and innocent love.
Masterpiece.
My sister just walked down the aisle at her wedding to this version of this song. Simply beautiful.

Screenshot comparison of the same scenes on different versions or I don't believe you. I found nothing on google and it sounds like extra effort they don't need to go through.
Toveri Juri I'm almost certain that at least FF X had that change, but the cinematic shots show clear asian features that are not present in regular game shots.
So crazy the memories music can bring back, especially when those memories come from a damn video game. FFX gets so much hate, but when it comes down to it, the game was very moving.

Final Fantasy X came out in 2001 on PlayStation. Here we are 17 years later, still being moved by the beautiful emotion in the music! All the memories and emotions flooding in!

Never in my life have I heard an instrument that pierced into my mind as perfect for the melody in a song...from when it STARTED, I was already on the verge of tears because you convey the emotion in the song in such a fluent and passionate way. The journey of a seemingly pointless cycle of pilgrimage that provides but a brief moment of solace before once again being plunged into chaos by Sin is brought to a soaring climax with this piece by Nobuo Uematsu, and you found the one instrument to bring that concept to fruition. I tip my hat to you, ma'am, now I will play this whenever I think of FFX again. :)

I love seeing how many people were affected by this game the same way I was. It’s my favorite game of all time. Every single time I hear this song it takes me back, and I feel like a kid again.

My favourite game of the FF series, and such a beautiful song...... You Taylor are phenomenal.
This song brings back so many emotions and indescribable feelings, thoughts, and beauty for me.I remember falling in love with Tidus and Yuna's story, theirs is a story that is etched throughout time as a beautiful love story, and one so many can be drawn to. Their story is one that is very well put together and shows us, the game player a journey of friendship, loyalty, passion, romance, and everlasting love. I remember crying so many tears throughout the game and then bawling, feeling a sense of loss even after the ending. That sinking heart feeling with knots in your stomach, ya know? It in my opinion is the best FF game out there, the emotions throughout it and the way it made me feel which lingered with me for a long while after completing the game is what proved to me that it is the most heartfelt and passionate FF story told. Still to this day, all these years later, this game still tugs at my heart strings and makes me feel things that only few places, games, books, movies, and shows have been able to get me to feel. I absolutely love your cover here and how just by listening I could allow myself to get lost in the characters, the story, and the raw emotions that go along with FFX. Thank you for sharing this with all of us, the nostalgia is overwhelming.

I played the violin when I was younger, and for some reason stopped. It is finding musicians like you that remind me why I started playing in the first place, and inspired me to pick up my violin again. I can only hope that one day, I will be as good as you. Thank you for inspiring me to play again.

no i mean overall, the Road to Zanarkand scenario is more sad than the actual ending IMO :V
xGoodOldSmurfehx That was the ending though! The whole way through the game Tidus is trying to get back to Zanarkand, and then at the end he finds out that he's actually "dead" (he died in the Sin attack at the start of the game) and commits "suicide" to return to the spirit world.
But frankly in terms of emotional impact, nothing beats when Yuna sings "1000 Years" in Final Fantasy X-2.

This will never change, FFX is my favorite game of all times, and the story line was so great. The music they added, the ups and downs in the game, there were so many things perfect! Sad I don't have a PS3 for the remake version, I would really want to play the game again, but I can't sadly.

FFX is one of the best games of all time. I've played games for nearly 20 years, and I still have yet to find many games on this level. I love many games.... but this one is definitely on the top tier list.

Although I often listen to electronic music, I like very much to listen this kind of music and over all instruments it's the violin makes me shiver more ...;-) Here's a great discovery if you love the violin!
Here´s a recommendation: E.S. Posthumus, check it out, an incredible mix between classic and electronic, you'll love it.
Seven has the best overall story, but ten's story gives it a run for it's money and it always seemed more emotional. This song just adds to the overall greatest of the game. It's by far the best FF theme.

***** best FF to date? i argue that FF6 (originally known as FF3 in the west) for the SNES is the best FF to date. i implore those that started appreciating FF by starting at 7 to go back and play the first 6. and while your at it play the following classics: secret of mana, breath of fire 1 & 2, chrono trigger, lufia 2 the fortress of doom, the earthbound games.
it's actually sad to see squire in the pathetic state it's in today. seeing how in the 90's they where practically the king of RPG games. they had more great RPG games under there belt then the playboy mansion had bunnies. there flagship series leading the charge. now they have all but outright drop there pants and took a angry shit on all there former RPG game fans. it's like they hate the JRPG ideas that got them to such a status. hell the first final fantasy game is what saved them from bankruptcy yet much like how capcom keeps megaman on a chain in it's basement feeding it bowls full of resentment. the original formula for final fantasy has been treated like the mongoloid child that there embarrassed even existed.
fair enough every fan has there favorite. it's just a bit disheartening when i hear someone claim there a hardcore FF can and when i ask what games they have played they start at FF7 and go up ignoring the previous games entirely. and that is a crime to me because FF6 to me is a masterpiece back before FF games had to have gimmicks like magic junctioning and the sphere grid.
and at least the villain in FF6 had a motivation that made sense. he just wanted to become a god and watch the world burn. crazy i know but at least it's a plan. the only other villain i can think of that had such a clear cut plan would be the sorceress from FF8 and even the details of that plan was rather convoluted. and Seymour's plan was just silly. wanting to become sin to save the world by destroying it. at least the sorceress and kefka were not pretending to want to save the world. they outright admired they wanted to watch it burn.
Dragonking1984 FF Tactics. Is the best FF game to me. The story was good and there was so many twists in the game later on... that you didn't know what was going to happen. Plus its hard keeping your main guys alive so they don't die and get lost forever. And countless hours of non stop training. But out of all of the recent ones, I like 9 better than 7 and 8. Zidane was just a thief who got caught up in playing hero.
anonymousdancingbear when i first played FF tactics i couldn't get into it. the combat was weird to me. (and the judge was always a asshole giving me penalties for things then turning a blind eye when a enemy would do the exact same thing)
FF9 i haven't played in years. the only thing i can remember is the great cut scenes. and that kick ass flying theater ship. oh and that fat man?/woman? who looked like king hippo in drag.
