    Thank you! Your video was so helpful! I had previously been adjusting my photos the old school way step by step rather than using non permanent adjustment layers.

    Another top tutorial(Once you get pass the Rock n Roll;ha, ha).How does this skill fit in with a workflow? Would you suggest using Lightroom first, then going into Photoshop for further adjustments; or replacing Lightroom with layer adjustments?

    Hi great tut...It used to be that I could erase parts of adjustment layers... now I cant. I notice that when I pick an adjustment layer the adjustment symbol (sort of yin and yang looking circle) isn't there. Instead the logo of what I chose is there like if I pick CURVES the graph looking logo appears instead of the adjustment circle. How do I change that back?

  • @Thomasjcolbert82
    @Thomasjcolbert82 4 роки тому

    I have a question. How do you select just a small part of a photo with a lasso tool or pen tool? and do this? Like upping the shadows on part of the photo? I can't seem to get that to work.

  • @wakaneut
    @wakaneut 4 роки тому +4

    How do you add an adjustment layer that only apply to one layer? Everytime I added an adjustment layer, it applies to all layers below it, instead of one layer that I want.

      What version of Photoshop are you using? If it's CS5 or earlier, at the bottom of the adjustment layer panel, there is an eye icon. On its left is an icon with a black circle and a white circle. Click it to apply the adjustment layer to the later directly below it (by default it is off, and applies to all layers). See this link:
      photo.stackexchange.com/questions/3564/applying-adjustment-layer-only-to-one-layer-in-photoshop
      If you have a newer version, there is an icon that looks like a white square with an arrow on its left pointing down, it does the same thing, they just changed the icon (why would they do that and confuse everyone).
      See this link:

    so when you edit everything.. is it best to just use adjustment layers instead of normal layers with every photo? or does it just apply to colour changes etc..

    Hi I'm thinking that lightroom can do most of the job here, but what are the photoshop's advantages (or differences) over lightroom? Would you do a full edit on lightroom or photoshop?

    • @clearlyed
      @clearlyed  7 років тому +1

      Lightroom can do everything inside the Adobe Camera RAW filter in photoshop yes but that is just a teeny tiny part of photoshop. Think of lightroom as being something that edits what is in the image file and photoshop as something with no boundaries. I hope this makes sense. these vides may help you.
