We are loving Notgrass From Adam to Us for a 6th grader, we also loved Apologia Chemistry and Physics for upper Elementary. We are planning to use the Apologia General Science next year.
I have to say, the OSSS is so great! Probably too young for your child that will be 6th next year but you could modify it to make it work. Have them write a report or research a topic deeper. I can’t wait to redo that one with my younger 2.
We use so much of the same curriculum. Love Notgrass. We went with Sonlight this year because we’ve used their readers since the beginning (I have a 6th, 3rd, Kinder, and two year old) and we will be switching back to Notgrass next year. We use BJU English from 2nd up and love it but we also use fix it grammar and the writing units. We switched to BJU for the more structured writing and love it, but adding IEW really made them have better quality of writing. We’re using apologia science for earth science and love it, but tried flying creatures years ago and hated it. I really like the updated books. I’ve been told to use human anatomy for 5th-6th only. It might be more on point there. We haven’t tried it because I’m hoping they update it. Hope you guys have a good rest of the year.
Oh I love notgrass! Definitely our favorite this year! Bju English is great! We do use close to the same curriculum 😊 have a great rest of the school year as well!
Thank you for sharing. Just subscribed to your channel. We are using Notgrass “America the Beautiful” and we are enjoying it. I’ve always been curious about the BJU Bible Truths, I just might be using it for next year. I am also not a fan of Apologia science because of the same reasons you stated. For science I am using Science Shepherd and also a human body unit study I put together with a lot of living books, reference books and videos. We also read through some nature living books throughout the year. I am also drawn to the “Wonders of Creation” science series from Masterbooks. I’m excited to see what you ended up picking to switch to for science.
I love notgrass! My favorite! Bible truths by bju is great too! Thank you for subscribing! Apologia is just not it for me, I really tried to make that curriculum work for us. But I finally had to throw in the towel.
Thank you for the feedback, this is helpful. Good luck in your homeschooling journey!

Notgrass if my favorite 🩷 our 50 states is great! Can't wait to pick out next year's curriculum!

We did OSSS 2 years ago actually. The kids weren't ready for it at the time.
If they weren’t ready I’d try it again and just add in some extra for your older.
I’m eyeing America the Beautiful for us this coming year.
Thanks for sharing this, will review this video again before the Fall because I have an upcoming 3rd grader.
Thanks for watching 😊
Glad to connect with another Homeschooling Family

@@raisingthreewildlings I didn’t hear you say it, but we also use BJU for math. It’s been a godsend. We love it so much.
@marygibson2518 yes we also use bju for math for my son. My girls use tgatb. I have another video where I talk about our math journey.

Do you do parent led for BJU math too?
Yes I love the parent led. I've never tried the online version.
