Thank you so much for making this video, it was so encouraging! I'm finding that with really consistent practice my art is getting good enough to sell and I look forward to start selling my clipart this year!
Thank you so much for all your videos! I"m loving learning all these new skills. DO you have any PDF instructions with step by step how to's to convert illustrations into clipart? My mind runs away with me when I'm staying to follow your vids and implement them on my own work. :)
Ooo I don't yet, but that is such a good idea! I'm totally the same, I like to have written instructions for things like this! Thank you for your comment and for the suggestion!
Hi my name is Marie, thanks for sharing your video :) I just wanted to say you should def make more videos like this and don’t worry about editing etc this was totally fine :) great job :) your information is what I found of great value.:) anyway I’m new in the digital industry and I’ve been researching etc and I guess what I need to do is build my brand by creating more products which is what I’ve been trying to do these past few days was to build my portfolio... once I have about maybe over a 100 digital products (I’m just thinking realistically in order to possibly sell lol) then I’ll start uploading on Etsy, Creative market, Redbubble, zazzle etc and hope I can make a sale(fingers crossed lol) anyway can’t wait for more videos :) much love from Auckland, New Zealand
I am so glad this was helpful for you! I'll definitely make more videos on this process! What I would say is start uploading to Etsy immediately - it's a good place to start seeing what will sell since there is no approval process to start a shop. Then you can use your shop as your portfolio for other sites like Creative Market, which want a history of products that sell before they approve your shop. Plus, by listing on Etsy, you can start to get an idea of what customers want to buy, so it's great market research because you can start to tailor your products before you make a ton of something that might not sell. Good luck with everything!!
Thanks for sharing your insights! Looking forward to your next video :0) I'd love to start some sellable projects as you do, and I guess I'm wondering how you consider demand? How do you know what people want or is it entirely hit and miss?
It can be hit or miss for sure. I started out by creating a variety of projects - actually starting with printable art, which didn't sell at all. Then I listed some clipart, and that sold, so I made more. Then, my greenery clipart and cactus clipart started doing well, so I made some more varieties of those, and the new ones sold alongside the old ones. Basically, I make more of what sells, while also listing totally new categories to learn about different products. Some things never sell, so I never make those again. Hope this helps a bit!
Interesting video! I've thought about selling on Creative Market but that seems a bit saturated to me as well. I'd love to see more videos on this subject :)
Hi! I've been exploring your etsy shop and I was wondering, how did you made licence documents? I don't have any idea of legal stuff or how to write/establish the type of licence for my products, but I know it's very important. Is there any trusted source to learn about this? Maybe you can make a video about it. Love your work!
Thank you for the super nice comment :) For my etsy licensing, I looked at a lot of different sellers' licensing, as well as what Creative Market has pre-set, and picked and chose what I wanted my own policies to be! You can't really police this kind of thing, so I just tried to put together the most clear and concise license options, and trust that my customers will follow it. But I don't know any legal jargon or anything, so I didn't worry too much about that :) Hope this helps a bit!!
You make awesome videos, thank you! I am just starting trying to sell a few digital product and very excited. Just a question, probably stupid (sorry), but which sizes do you use for the files that you sell to make sure they are not too small?
I have been trying to upload some artworks from procreate to Shutterstock and always get the same message regarding quality (obviously they are not vectors) do you know what could help? thanks
