Generally with Steve f+1+2, 2 is enough to get the job done. Kazuya is the one who really struggles here.

@@ThatBlastedSalamisome people get their recoverable health back during rage state so they can do rage art with 40% health from time to time. Because of that, us guv mains aren't so lucky to finish them off with f1+2, 2 😢

I like punishing with grabs
what you should really watch out for, is a rage drive. I did pretty great against some guy, and he crash his car into my house.
I think grabs should be mentioned as they are now legit punish and will save you hassle if opponent is near angled wall

I just checked and, yes, birds can cry, and their tears are similar to those of humans. Can a ninja cry, though?
Block and grab tends to get the job done a lot of the time. Depends on how much hp they have left, but if your character has a strong grab (for me I do Hwoarangs 2+4 B which does 40 dmg on its own iirc) that can be even safer than going for a launcher.
Also, I'm not sure if its a latency thing, but most of the time in online matches, when a blocked Rage Art is met with a grab, it comes out as a counter which probably also deals more damage.
The buffer out of blockstun is very generous in Tekken, so punishing a -15 move with a 15f startup move should be very reliable.
@@DragonflySwamp not disagreeing with the video, just stating that grabs can be good too or for people who don't know which launcher to use for a particular character (according to comments Steve and Kazuya have issues with that?)
Grabs after rage arts are guaranteed, not just a counter hit. It's an intended feature by the developers, probably to give characters like Steve and Kazuya a proper rage art punish.

that’s true, they are. my issue with grabs is that sure they do pretty good damage but i’d prefer to do launcher into some combo that has a bound in the middle
Right But if they rage arted you, they're already at or below the rage threshold... Which would pretty much guarantee a grab to kill and if not a quick low would finish the job If they've healed up some grey or are very healthy just barely in rage i agree a launcher would be ideal, but i find that's rarely the case.
There’s an art in the Rage Art… but you should be wary of the Rage in a Rage Art.

@@guilhermearaujo4414 They were WAY more punishable in T7. -15 isn't even enough for some characters like Steve, Zafina or Raven to get a launch combo now.
@@rikyoh130 I see... I remember I used to get a jet upper with Bryan pretty easily when I blocked a RA in T7, but in T8 I miss the punish window a few times with the same move.

What you forgot to mention and which is most important IMO - you can MASH THE HELL OUT OF IT. As soon as you block it just mash your 15f launcher or w/e as fast as you can and you will always get it!
Only thing to add is that some rage arts have pushback, so you don't just want a 15 frame launcher, it shouldn't be a very short-range one. When in doubt, if you've got one, you can use a hopkick.

If your opponent is using a rage art then their health is very low, you don't always need a launcher to finish it. A throw or a powerful punisher like Jin's f1+2 is also good enough
Asuka's uf2 is a good option besides her df2. Does enough damage to get the job done, and you don't have to worry about unexpected sidewall splats. Plus it's just satisfying.

That’s maybe too simple of a video. You could’ve talked about some options for characters without 15f launchers and that punishing with grabs is now an okay option (especially when playing Kazuya)

If we talk about normal tekken i was winning the round! But then this fucking hyper armor animation thing ruin the battle.
You can't apply pressure at the end, you have to be scared...
@@rikyoh130 tbh it's no different with Critical Arts in SF6, Super Skybound Arts in GBVSR, or Power Blows in DOA5 if you think about it. Comeback mechanics has always been a thing in FGs lately.

You can't pressure well a guy in red, you can't use some moves cause they will armor through it... ppl is in too high advantage when in red, also more damage if they do a combo

Or just do UF1+2... Grabs are unbreakable against rage arts, universal 40 dmg punish that's super easy to just mash out.
That 5 damage can make all the difference. In a high-stress situation, you're gonna do whatever you're most comfortable with, and you might end up throwing someone and giving them another chance when you could've just killed them then and there. Especially since you can get put into rage, and then heal grey health while keeping rage.
With Kazuya, good luck getting anymore than 31 damage..
I've only punished 15 frame attacks with electric a few times in practice, 14 frames seems impossible..
Even 17 requires you to be highly aware to launch it on reaction..
But 20+ frames are fairly easy to launch it with electric
Can you confirm if you can punish rage arts with a rage art of your own? Been trying to do that and it just keeps getting blocked.
Grabs too, they cannot be broken when punishing a rage art.

In addition to using up-forward 1+2, which is an easy 40 damage and sets up good oki depending on the character, there are two other important notes to countering Rage Arts...
1. If player 1 activate their RA, then player activates theirs in response, player 1 will win every time.
2. If player 1's Rage Art is blocked, player 2 trying to counter with a Rage Art will result in player 1 being able to block due to Rage Arts being fairly slow in start-up.
I've watched my friend play today and saw a hilarious exception to rule #1 - apparently you can beat Asuka's Rage Art if she decides to hold it.

@@RyuHousen If she lets go early then it's punishable. You block, sidestep, block, sidestep. Ultimately they're going to be looking for the movement as a sign to let go, and at that point it's a mindgame.
It feels like the timing has changed in this game. My Df2 always seems too fast. Going to have to adjust to the lock down after the RA. You can find your 15 frame by looking at the frame data in game. Most throws are 11 frame so you have other moves that can do more damage that 40 points if you look guys.
throw is also unbreakable I think.
With kazuya i use the 13F punish

Quick Hwoarang Tip:
Despite how it looks animation-wise, Hwo's b3 is not i15, but in fact i16. Most new Hwo players didn't realize this fact, and tried to punish RAs with b3, thinking it was i15 (and sometimes, legacy players who still have that -20 muscle memories from T7 did the same thing). Instead, use his df2, which is his actual 15f launcher.
Unless they recover a ton of grey health after getting put in rage a throw will probably kill

Punishing Rage Arts with Bryan and Kazuya is such a pain in Tekken 8, especially online.
They should make it -20 again like in Tekken 7.
You can also punish it with a throw.
You can buffer Jet Upper.
@@RyuHousenI'm not very familiar with Bryan, but AFAIK you still have to time the 2 press after the blockstun ends right? You buffer the forward and back, but you cannot just mash 2 or you'll get b+2, or am I wrong?
@@subrezon you can mash b+2 after a bit, it's not frame perfect
Using f2,1,4 is an easier punish if you’re not confident in the connection

because you can't do it every time. usually it does not enough dmg, or maybe it is even too slow, depending of where you are when it happens. a launcher or any simple combo should be better for most characters.

Rage starts at 25% (45 health), so a 40 dmg throw might not always kill. Also they can go into rage and then heal back above 45 health while still keeping rage.

"Look for an attack with up to 15 frames of startup." Like no they arent going to name literally every viable option for every character, the point of the video is to go into training mode and learn how to solve your own problems.
how come EACH tekken pro has said they got pain in the wrist and/or hand??? Is tekken the one fighting game terrible for health?
No, they are just playing a lot, and don't care much about ergonomics. Also I am pretty sure SF is worse for your health due to much more complicated inputs.

Are there RA that are not -15 at least? Like in t7
Are all RA mid? are there low or high or unblockable RAs?
Or just use a command throw, always does the job for me
I know i’m definitely late to the party, but when did namco decide to make RAs -15? I coulda sworn it was supposed to not be launch punishable at some point before it got released and a lot of people I know, myself included, did not like that change at all.
Idk why they made it worse in tekken 8. It's less punishable now

I'm sad that they decided to make the same input for every character's Rage Art. It should be just an ordinary move.

It's for the casual playerbase. Rage Art is the big, flashy comeback move that people who are just pressing buttons are going to run into, and casual players hate that feeling of "well if I knew how to do that I'd be winning!" That's why heat burst and rage art are given their own dedicated buttons by default.
And then you'd think "why doesn't someone just open up a movelist to check?" But a lot of casual players have a weird aversion to looking up moves while playing, considering it to be "cheating" or that they "want to learn themselves" or w/e.
It was done like that so is one less thing that players have to worry about learning. Remember, most characters has about 80 moves in their toolkit, so it make sense to have a universal way to do the Rage art.
@@Jonkin715 Universal Rage Art button was also present in Tekken 7. I mean, doesn't the same logic apply to other kind of moves? Tracking, launchers, and so on
Hey Arya, I think longer videos with your personality and facecam would be much better content. These tips and your other characters overview videos look very robotic and corporate like. Hopefully you could also do deep down videos as your usual self.

We dont need more 10 minute videos with 9 minutes of "personality" and 1 minute of actual content. This website is already flooded with a sea of garbage like that. This series should be the gold standard of tutorial videos on the website.
