    I think it's worth mentioning applying 303 or similar product to the tailgate pad once and a while would help extend the life of the pad being exposed to the elements over time. Great review! Thanks for the info.

    Thanks for the review - got to 3:25 and heard what I needed to hear - not e-bike friendly. Moving on to another pad.

      There are extensions available for the straps now to support bikes with beefier downtubes.

    I’ve had my Raceface T2 pad on my Silverado for more than a year and a half and it is still like new. I live in Louisiana and it has endured two summers with no signs of wear. I know it won’t last forever being on my tailgate all the time but it is too convenient to leave on.

      Glad to hear the T2 has been treating you so well. We've since moved on to a couple other pads (backcountry & Sensus Bachelor Pad) since this video went up and the T2 is still our favorite pad to date.

      What year Silverado? Looking for a pad that will allow a 2016 GMC truck rear camera and hopefully a tonneau as well.

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  2 роки тому +1

      @sipseydirk the T2 will work well on your Silverado, especially if your looking for one that offers unobstructed use of the rear view camera.

      @@sipseydirk 2020. The open area for the rear cameras is fairly big but the edges of the pad are visible in the back up cameras.

      Any experience if a tonneau cover will close while it is on? It looks like it might, but can’t confirm anywhere. It is a Bakflip F1.

    I just bought the T2, and this is my first experience with tailgate pads. It’s going on a Chevy 1500, my question is do I need to worry about protecting my down tubes? I have two carbon bikes one is a fat bike and I have two aluminum bikes.

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  9 місяців тому +1

      Extra protection never hurts (especially to prevent damage while riding) but you shouldn't have to worry about protecting them from the tailgate pad. Just make sure the bikes are fastened in place to prevent them from sliding around and you will be good to go. -Sean

    Would you trust something like this on a long drive? I’m trying to consider buying a racking system like Thule or Yakima versus something like this for trips in the 400-800 mile trip range for camping and riding.

    I’m trying to find a pad with straps long enough for my Levo SL. I get that they aren’t designed for the really large down tubes but the Levo SL is sort of in between traditional down tubes and the piggy back battery tubes. Do you think this would work?

      Go to any hardware store & but longer Velcro straps, they are very inexpensive

  • @FlowFinderUSA

    Question, do the 4 bottom straps cause rubbing and or "paint scuffing" of the tailgate door?

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  4 роки тому +1

      We've not had this issue but it certainly depends on how loose/tight the straps are. how dirty your tailgate is (dust is like sandpaper) and the quality of paint/clear coat on your truck.

    Does this or any other pad have the ability to lock down to the truck? Wondering about theft of pad/potentially bikes although I'd probably run a cable lock through the tie down points

    What's the best pad you've ever used? It seems they all have some lacking areas.

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Sticky, This pad is pretty awesome! We really like the Sensus Bachlelor Pad too and it may be the best we've tried on GM and Dodge vehicles. We didn't have the chance to try that one on Ford or Toyota trucks, and Ford's have a pretty wide tailgate top so it could be a factor. We've used plenty and they do the job, but you are right, it does seem they all some sort of flaw.

      @@TheLoamWolf I'm mostly concerned with down tube protection and durability. They touted the new material for this one. Is it holding up any better to uv? Also I'm the weird guy with the honda truck so who knows what fits.

    I dont like how it doesnt go all the way to the bottom of the tailgate on Tacoma's, I wanted a tailgate pad to protect my tailgate from flying rocks hitting the tailgate but it only seems to cover the top half of the tailgate on Tacoma's.

      It’s great. The straps are way too long, but it holds bikes secure that the straps don’t really need to be tight anyway. I think the Thule could be the best one on the market.
