"Or, we could use the teleporter" has become the stock response in my place of work for when someone comes up with a really complicated solution to a problem, when a much better, simpler solution exists.
The makeup on Kryten is still incredible. Most modern CGI is uncanny for how almost-human it looks, but Kryten is uncanny for how close he looks to a 3D animated character.
Oh good Heavens! Red Dwarf! Im 72 and i remember this program and many other British programs that were just so great. Another favorite was Coupling. The USA tried to do a version of it and just hosed it up big time. UK....never sell the USA rights to copy one of your shows!!!
Missed out the best part: Cat: "All in all a one hundred percent successful trip" Kryten: "Sir we lost Mr Rimmer" Cat: "All in all a one hundred percent successful trip"
RD would have been a one series 'flash-in-the pan'.. . if it hadn’t been for introducing Cat. And just as it was slowing, bringing in Kryten to play off A. J. R was inspired.
"Don't compound your temporal faux-pas by telling us our future!" "No, not that war sir, the other one" "Who can forget the famously insane monarchies of the 19th and 20th centuries!" "Or we could just use the teleporter" The writing on this show was bloody amazing.

I love how in this case, teleportation was the simpler solution.
Still makes me piss myself laughing to this day.
Oh thank you for this, I work in food service, I'll just replace it with "replicator" lol
Ive said the same thing about world peace
that's beautiful
Robert Llewellyn managing to pronounce full stops in "long. long. long. range" is just one of many reasons why kryten rules all our hearts
Balls on standby sir....Brilliant!

and he's got the American accent to boot!
he looks like a 3d real character... because he is
@@corndogrequiem1728 apparently it was meant to be Canadian
He reminds me of Max Headroom
Its a pretty simple/basic(but admittedly brilliant) prosthetic

The chemistry between Kryten and Rimmer was funnier than the contrast between Rimmer and Lister.
"And what would you know, Bog-Bot from Hell?!?!?" Not my favourite line from Rimmer, but one of my favourite deliveries.
the spacecore directives gag never gets old man, the zero G one is my fave lol
That Low Polygon Count head is so cool to me for some reason.
I hope to one day feel as happy as Lister did when he said “a year and a half”
😂 😂 😂
"Pinch me" 😂

'Balls on standby, sir?' love it. I'm looking for the bit where Kryten commands Rimmer to 'grind them! grind them like you've never ground before!'
Dam. I must now sit down with a curry and put that DVD on. lol
Ofc you do ! 🙂
And a few tins, so you're nicely pished.
Cryten aged well like a good wine. 😀😀😀
And in a bizarre twist, is now reviewing electric cars on UA-cam. ua-cam.com/video/UmyHgYH-DUk/v-deo.html

I've never seen his show before but "Don't compound your temporal faux-pa by telling us our future" convinced me I should.
You're in for a treat. Enjoy.
I saw this show when I was three and thought it was Star Trek. I literally just learned now it's this.
Don't watch the American version.
@@Chebab-Chebab Not that there is much of that to watch...
@@mr.jamster8414 you will be happy to know patrick stewart loves the show as well :D
0:57 One of the best lines in the show
It's such a strong diss, partly because it's so likely to be factual 😁

They should have an interstellar war between the Rimmers and the Cats.
If race if Cats is anything like the Cat. Cats would have no chance against Rimmers.
Rimmers never use zimmers
And theyre fantastic swimmers

Oh come on, you cut out the best bit. “You are a total, total, complete and total...”
A word is yet to be invented to describe how totally whatever it is you are but you are one and a total, total one at that!
No gym then.
🤣🤣🤣
