I bought this reel of Amazon and the chrome plates looked scratched and polished. I requested a new one and it came in basically the same. I choose the better of the two and spoiled it up. Can't wait to try it. I've been using a peen 209 and it had great performance so I bought the 113N.
I am so happy that you showed this video discussing the Penn senator made in the USA. I am the last year have purchased two of them I own the 113 wide and on the 113 narrow. with that being said I have yet to fix them because of other reasons and responsibilities. I am really looking for using both of these. I am real fond of the 113 narrow. this is probably a little overkill for what I will be using them 4. I am strictly going to be using these for large catfish in particular I had the money and thought what the heck. they are just as you described. well built you can just feel the quality when you handle them. I would recommend this to anybody that wants to do some saltwater fishing an awesome piece of equipment. I'm very happy two own these two reels from Penn. Thanks for a good product
Hi, the new U.S. made Penn Senator reels look very similar to the Penn Baja Special. Could someone tell me if this is as good as the previous Baja Special reels? If it is not, what are the differences? Thanks, Tony
It is in fact virtually the same as the post-2008 production versions of the Baja Special. The only changes were cosmetic, the new version going with a silver frame and spool.
I just bought this reel and it’s a bit difficult for me to spool line on it. I’m a beginner and not so patient with it. Just being honest I need help understanding this Penn. Glad I have a few spinning reels tho.

Finally got the chance to use my 113N, bub was it awesome!! Caught a 34" red and was it fun to reel it in. I had no problem. Great purchase!
