- Water...water!!! Sometimes things get a bit heated out having fun. Here's my first ESC fire in years captured on video during a huge group bash. Big thanks to "Fire Marshall" John for jumping into action and answering the call of duty...Lol. This is bashing at it's best with great friends. Thanks also to Fast Track Hobbies in Rocklin, CA and M2C Racing.

Thanks again Rich for letting me live my dream to be a fire fighter lol. Breakages have been minor but we all seem to be having electronic issues lately. Hopefully we got that out of our system now and be back at it again soon.

@@richduperbash2966I recently heard if you mount that ESC with the screws too far in, it ruins the board down in there, and after that.... the whole ESC is toast. Personally, I feel you have to be careful not to run too high of a KV motor on the Max 6 class ESC's. With a 4092 like 1420kv on 8s, EVERYTHING runs cooler because of less electrical resistance. Just make sure to build your 6s rig to take it. As far as power, it's about the same as 6s with a 1730kv, but with a tad more torque....but the 8s setup runs definitively cooler. Just needs stronger driveshafts and upgrade bulkheads with better bearings etc.

Super killer run rich as always🤩 your group sessions are second to none. Looks like you were missing a few, but still was an awesome event multiple cars running that L-shaped CVD on David‘s XRT was nuts. I’ve never seen anything like that before. Sorry about your fire brother, but that seems to be happening lately to the max 6. I’ve had one myself go up in the past few months and you definitely heard it happen when that cap exploded. Has anybody ever made it to the grass on those big ramp senders looks like you guys get pretty close, awesome session as always brother look forward to seeing the truggifed back out.🚀💪🤘

Dude I was devastated when my sledge caught fire. So much work and time and money and it burns in seconds 😂 that max 8 g2 was not up to surviving the heat at Folsom last summer. Ran it for like 2 minutes and it burst into flames. All I can do is laugh at this point. Great video as usual buddy 🤙

Yeah RC fires can be completely random sometimes 😱. Still quite uncommon though fortunately. Love the Talion DR 😍. Hope Kimberly can get more FS Racing bodies soon. 🍻

Sorry about the esc fire brother! We have all been there before, i had it happen to me on my limitless v2, my brand new hobbywing went up in smoke and thanks to warranty it got replaced! But great video man, wish i lived near u we could have a bash session together

That's a custom CNC mount made by Basherqueen that comes with her Talion DR conversion kit. Hopefully she'll get more caged bodies soon. 🍻
Sorry about your Max 6, Rich. Maybe 2000kv is too high winding for that ESC? I wonder if the hexfly 6 could use the Hobbywing programmer? 🤔 I found that running 8s makes my Max 6 and 4092 motors running 1650kv on down even lower kv makes everything run a bit cooler. Not much faster.. but definitely cooler. Less electrical resistance. With HR's bulkheads and inner bearing running an electric motor abec 5 rated bearing, it can take 8s with the EXB's diffs if they're perfectly shimmed. Not really much more stress on the drivetrain. M2C driveshafts are taking it like champs.
Thanks so much for the thoughtful comment Brother 🤙. I have a feeling the Sledge motor and Max6 aren't as good a match as I'd hoped in the Talion DR. I noticed it really winds out and almost feels like it has bursts of power. Kinda like a torque converter starting to fail. Planning to try a 1720kv 4082 Rocket in her. The 1650 4985 does great with the Max6 on 6s 🚀🚀. You're right about 8s being more efficient. I've been hesitant to try it with the smaller 6s diffs and drivetrain. M2C driveshafts have been such a blessing for us bashers 🍻😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 Well, if you really like that jumpable light weight and 6s for that particular rig....I hear Hobbywing has come out with an absolute winner of a 6s setup. Around $125 for a 4274 2000kv (I believe) and 150amp ESC. Somebody here on the YT tried to overheat it in a larger Hobao Hyper MT, and couldn't get it to stress out. Hobbywing's new and affordable design to stay cooler. Cheaper, but tougher. It's all redesigned and improved over HW's previous, more expensive iteration, and deficates on the Spektrum version. Larger capacitors. Motor has way different magnet setup in it. Thought it was interesting anyway.

What’s your go to servo for 1/8 1/10 scale trucks & truggys for bashing what servo have you found to be budget friendly fast & durable like I’m willing to spend up to $200 also do you run any external power servo’s on your rig’s if so do you generally just run them off your esc
The Power HD 23kg has been a great overall budget servo for the 1/8 trucks. Also just started using BETU 46kg off Amazon, but it's too early to gauge long term durability. I don't run any external BEC with my setups. I have used Glitch busters in the past with certain Savox servos.
Hey rich do you use a gyro on your rigs?
Never with any bash rigs. I've used slight AVC with my Infraction before. Probably around 30%.
Why don't you call it the sledgehammer, and what causes the cogging?
Traxxas would sue M2C if they called anything Sledgehammer due to their tire name 😫. I having sorted the cogging yet. Probably a bad connection or failing motor. 🍻

@@arakainerhave you seen guys just watch (and film) their rigs burn up on UA-cam? I have.You won't see that on my channel. This wasn't a transformer fire. Your eyes didn't play tricks on you. The water stopped the fire and cooled down the board. An ESC fire is far less dangerous than a lipo fire in case you didn't know.
