Luckily he can’t bite. Egg eaters don’t have teeth! They have a bony structure in the back of their throat to split the shell but it can’t be used to bite. This boy is essentially a windsock in terms of biteyness. But yeah, egg eaters do have that “gentle take” thing you see with well trained dogs!

When I was a kid, I had a greensnake that I raised from a hatchling until he died of old age. He used to always eat out of my hand. People always say this about their exotic pets, but I am not kidding when I say he was like a dog or something. He never lived in a tank. He just stayed with me, in my shirt, almost everywhere I went. He even slept in the bed with me every night. I could put him down in the yard, walk away, and he would follow me wherever I went. When I stopped, I could tap on my leg, and he would slither up into my hand. Depending on what I was eating, he would try and eat my food with me. The first time he ever done it, he stole a sausage ball off of my pizza. All of my friends and teachers loved him. They knew he wouldn't go anywhere and would just hang out in my shirt all day. He loved when anybody held him. I was around 17 when he passed away from old age. I was really little when I got him, and we basically grew up together. Idk why I named him this, but it was the only cuss word I would get away with saying because my dad thought it was funny, but his name was Shithead. When he passed, me and several buddies had a funeral for him, buried him in a really nice box, and I went and found a big rectangular stone and carved a headstone for him with his name and the date that he passed. That's been about 20 years ago, and I've still never had a better pet. I don't live in the same town anymore, but when I go back to see friends or anything, I always make it a point to drive by there and see Shithead. It's hard for some people to believe, but you really can bond with a snake just like any other pet. And they can get just as attached to you. It just depends on how much time you spend with them. We were almost never separated, so he seen me as his home and his safe place

I don’t think their venom is very clinically significant to humans (if at all). I think it used to be considered even non-venomous but they found out it actually has a bimodal venom that affects mammals and birds differently. If you’re interested in stuff like that, look it up because it’s actually pretty incredible.

I honestly don't blame him for moving his hand away so fast because getting bit by any snake l, venomous or not, is not a good time haha. I've been bitten by non venomous snakes and it sucked big time, I couldn't fathom getting bitten by a venomous one! Hope this helps though I love snakes and plan on getting a ball python even though I'd love to have an anaconda but there are so many in the US now, id hate to do that! The snake was risk assessing the situation, it really wanted to eat the egg but wasn't quite sure if it was safe enough to eat it from a heat and weirdly scented mammal's hand! It doesn't know it's cute and certainly doesn't care at all about the guy who fed him the egg! If it all felt threatened it would flee or bite!
