One of my forever Favorites. What a songwriting and telecaster playing. Saw him back in homemade blood time. Hamburg, the Knust, maybe 100 people. Fantastic guys, i offert him a beer and he was straight no drinks! He asked for some weed or hash....no Problem sir.
I came across Chuck hearing a Hendrix song (-) on the radio that sounded awesome. I was lucky to see him performing at Paradiso, Amsterdam more than 15 years ago. This guy + band is the TOP. He performed a.o. a cover of Iggy Pop's "I'm bored" that was incredibly good! Chuck Prophet needs much more attention, he-is-a-legend already!!! Hope to see him again one day!!
Wooow. The eternal baby face of the ole 80's "New American Rock" has got today a classic status as producer and total musician. So anxiuos to see him again live in Madrid next Saturday. Sure he'll be at top of his powers.
He's a great guy and I've seen him 20/25 times since about 1991. He was REALLY talented in those days and if you don't know his early work, go and get his first 2 albums. Truly astonishing song writing, guitar playing and he has such a fine voice. However, whilst i recognise artists 'need' to change a develop, Chuck has a bad habit in recent years in doing 'the new album' to death when he gigs. One never gets to hear the old classics that were brilliant and - sorry to say - a cut above the drifting MOR/AOR bland mush he churns out these days. I won't be going to see his gigs any more because of this tendency. Sorry Chuck!
A friend of mine is into Chuck at a near Deadhead level. Personally, I don't get it. Sounds like a band that came in second to be the house band for the 7th most popular late-night talk show. But my friend has fun so yay.
I just discovered this guy today! I love finding great artists like these guys!

Great guitar tones.
I love KEXP,i have found so many new bands in here.
The MC is a real lightweight. Must have been afraid of the microphone.
Wish CP & The Mission Express toured more in the SE US. Really enjoy their live shows!
All these memories like dirty plates, stacked up in the sink of time. Ford Econoline!
