I like how these look but would love a LEGO Creator Icons versions of some Speed Champs sets! The Dark Horse would look so good at that $170 price point and system set versus Technic
It would be interesting to see how well that would sell! LEGO already has the "Ford Mustang" 10265 on shelves so I wonder if they would wait that out to put another Creator Mustang out there as it is supposed to retire at the end of the year!
Yikes on that price hike. I’m a Camaro guy so no Mustang for me (yes I’m that loyal lol). Honestly though this is pretty disappointing. The Audi is pretty fire though.

I fear these new sets might not live up to the Speed Champions series' standard, and I don't anticipate them selling well. Despite my reservations, I'll still get them to maintain my collection. However, the increased prices are a bit of a downer. On a personal note, I made an 8-wide Hoonicorn with a sticker livery, and it's disappointing that there won't be a Ken Block figure with the Audi to round out my current set.
I think they will drop to $24.99 or less at the end of Spring or early Summer which will encourage people to pick these up. But I feel the Mustang will sell well, because it's a Mustang! Personally, the Hoonitron is going to be my go to, especially with the KB Hoonitron video that just dropped yesterday RIP 😢 Dude where can I see your 8-wide Hoonicorn build! I tag me on Instagram or somewhere because I would love to see that! Yeah, $30 CAD is max for me, $35 ($40.25 with tax in Quebec) is too much, especially for 275 pieces, at 14.6¢ for the majority of small pieces. It's a bit hard to "swallow".
The Hoonitron is certainly a good grab, honestly even at $26.99 given all the prints to give it that great design. Imagine if it had a Ken Block minifigure...I would probably buy like 10 of them!
@@cpafol I guess the venn of people that love motorsports and Legos isn't too big but there's some of us. Those two car kits like the W12 - AMG one, Vantage and Valkyrie and this new BMW one is really cool
I think the double price hike year over year is pretty greedy on Lego’s part ! I’m kind of glad I don’t collect speed champions! Especially since I missed out on the double pack that included the Bronco 😅
That Ford double pack was a pretty good one! Although I remember seeing it on shelves and never buying it myself 😅 That one retailed at $49.99, which at the time I thought was just too expensive...
I'm here just to see how many people are whining about the price. (have you checked how much your energy has gone up lately?) I own every Speed Champions set released, including the Team only Petronas set. I'm committed to buying every subsequent set regardless of price. Bring 'em on
Based on last year's release of 5 Speed Champions, yes, I would expect for us to get at least 2 more! I'm uncertain if they're having a later release, but this year we received the Nissan Skyline on January 1, 2023. I'll be sad, but unsurprised, if we don't get any 1/1 releases next year 😕
@@cpafol gotcha gotcha id assume about 5-6 as well but u never know with them and if im not wrong one of the years they downsized recently, i believe the year before they had 7-8
i really like the audi set, it looks soo good, but the other two sets i feel like they have been so lazy with them.. especially the bmw double pack, that looks awful! the only one i will be getting this year i think is the audi.. which is kinda sad tbh cause i love this speed champs series
The Audi S1 e-tron set is AMAZING! I love the printed designs, with those specially printed rims caps being the true cherries on top! 💯 After looking at the Mustang more, I think it does work about as well as it could have given that most Mustangs are pretty blocky in and of themselves. The BMW design is kinda silly...it's so smooshed! I wonder if LEGO is starting to constrict the designers abilities as they increase the prices AND likely hold back their ability to make more comprehensive designs.
@theLEGOcpa yeah i have mixed feelings about the mustang if im completely honest, while i do like the car and the way it looks irl, and i want to like the soeed champion for it, for some reason something just isnt clicking for me on that one (pun intended). And yeah, the bmw pack looks horrendous. They did such a good job with the porsche hypercar this year, and this bmw one just look so.. idek, and then the gt car jesus, that is truly a nightmare. I really hope they aren't getting restricted because they started getting on such a good stride with them, but it does feel like it given they've only teased 3 new sets for next year as suppose to the 5 they did for this year
I’m definitely done with Speed Champions this time. I said after moving from 6-wide I would, but this time I’m serious. These price hikes are ridiculous.
That stinks they lost another customer with the price hikes /: I'm certainly being much more stingy on the double packs in waiting for deals. I imagine when they no doubt drop to $19.99 on sale, you'll pick one up?
@@MajDuty I agree that the 8-wide made them a much better design by miles. But I'm thinking his concern is that the $15 price point was a sweet spot and he didn't really desire a bigger more detailed product. While I personally love the 8-wide design much more, I can certainly empathize with his sentiment, if what I mentioned is the case.
That windshield is already used on the Brian O’Connor’s Supra.
And the James Bond AM has a stickered doorhandle.

Honestly, one more stud length would have made a HUGE difference for this build.

Same for me. I prefer the Ford Mustang over anything else in this category. I think it just looks so good, especially in this small scale of vehicle.

What's your issue with them going to 8-wide? The models are significantly better because of it. I applaud it
