Americans usually eat garlic bread with Italian dishes like spaghetti, lasagna, ravioli, and other dishes. I don't think that we have ever tried ketchup. We eat garlic bread with dishes for dipping or used to compliment an entree and also used to scoop up food onto our utensils.
Garlic bread goes well with things like pasta dishes as a side dish... Very tasty. I love garlic bread. Pretty much grew up on it... ^_^ I prefer it a bit softer, and less on the crunchy side. Very easy to make... Basically slice bread, spread butter on it, sprinkle on garlic salt. Then cook it in the oven or the microwave briefly. IMO best with nice soft bread... If making a lot of it you can get a loaf of italian bread, slice it horizontally, butter both halves, sprinkle minced garlic or garlic salt on both halves, and bake in the oven until the butter melts and slightly browns (don't burn it!)... Then take it out and slice it vertically into thick slices. Yum! Serve with spaghetti, lasagna, tuna casserole, etc.
TBH, probably wouldn't use ketchup on it. Would just eat it straight... Or on the side with some kind of pasta dish. With marinara (tomato-based sauce) pasta, sometimes will use the bread to "mop up"/clean the plate of any excess sauce.
America has such a wide variety of food because of the people who have immigrated here from other countries. They brought their recipes and those recipes have changed over time because of different ingredients and tastes. We have just about every cuisine available here. It's fabulous !
No one eats garlic bread with ketchup. Maybe some weird people do. The bread should be softer and you should have added cheese. Garlic cheese bread is awesome!
Who would eat garlic bread with pizza? Pizza already has a bread like crust. Garlic bread is usually eaten with pasta. A little grated parmesan cheese and parsley kick it up a notch!

Yum. Except for the ketchup. Never go there. ❤
nobody on earth eats garlic bread with ketchup...that is not tomato soup and soup is hot therefore great when bread is dipped
I have made pizza with garlic bread many times. 👍💯
I've never seen anyone dip garlic bread in ketchup. If anything, they should have had marinara or pizza sauce instead.
I don't buy store bought premade garlic bread, I make my own with French or Italian bread, real butter, garlic powder, thyme, basil, and oregano.
I had to close my eyes when they put ketchup on the bread.

Ketchup does NOT GO ON EVERYTHING. ESPECIALLY NOT .. PIZZA.

Why sauce with the garlic bread.? Americans and Italians never put sauce on garlic bread. And it is cooked too long. Garlic bread should be soft....
Looks good, but the bread is too toasted. It should be much softer.

So i guess its like pizza or pizza-ish.
I think it’s unfortunate that not only is the bread cold, but it has been toasted too much.
