Hi Tim, I agree with you concerning team selection for a terrible rainy day like this...but it goes deeper I think....Rassie has no control over the weather but he has control over his honesty and integrity and he promised every single player a chance to play...so by hook or by crook he kept his promise which is worth much more than a lost of a rugby game on the day. He gave all the new boys a chance to start but knew he had his old guns on the bench to support the young ones.. in the end the rain was awesome experience for the young lads and still the game was won...most important Rassie kept his promise and that is priceless...Rassie is a 5d master chessplayer and beautiful soul. ❤❤

@@jacquidamons1705 I don't think it was tactical and my rationale is this: while going uncontested does negate our fire breathing scrums, it does mean that you have to sub a 130kg prop for a 100-110kg loosie. So while Australia didn't get wasted in scrums, they got absolutely wrecked by the mauls.

Fantastic analysis as always mate. This must be the best Springbok team/era in history. Enjoying it while it lasts 🙂.I think a lot of the success is due to the development at grass root levels in the last decade. Fantastic mix of talent coming through from diverse backgrounds which is excellent to see.
I didnt mind the game, it was a wet one but still a fun one to watch. Australia had a bit of a fight in them, but the bench once again was to much for them. Hoping to see Aussies keep on improving week after week.
Wasn't the best game to watch live but still good to be there. Bokke fans pretty much 4:1 to aussie fans (they even had boerewors rolls for sale, which i have NEVER seen at an aussie sporting game) I think the weather combined with scrappiness of game kinda killed the vibe of the crowd. Re-watching the game now to kinda see what happened in some stages we couldnt work out.
Your channel has become my goto, it's really good. I have high hopes for your french channel too, with the start of ProD2 and top14 soon. GOOD WORK MATE.
Well done Bokkies! This was exactly the kind of game I hoped they were getting - not a nice and dry field where they can run and chase like crazy, but one where they had to be a lot more gritty. And we could see that they were under pressure. Couple of scrum penalties and free kicks against them, some lineouts not working, a fumble here and there - these were harsh conditions and the players felt it. Nonetheless, they pulled themselves hp by the bootstraps, found out what was working and went for that. The Bomb squad players coming on did instill a sense of calm when they came on and Im glad they were able to see the game out. Australia was better than last week, but they literally only threatened the try line just the one time. They were very unimaginative with ball in hand. My player of the match will probably be Fassie (since PSDT don't really need any more awards, does he?) because of a nice finish to a try, a couple of good takes under pressure and some clever steps here and there. The uncontested scrums were incredibly good and I can't wait to see more of them. It was riveting to watch!! ...yeah, no. I get why they happen and I get that we were going to see a lot of them on a day when its this wet, but they suck. Lastly, did I hear the DJ play "Epic" by Faith No More?? If yes, he is the best DJ in rugby today.
I got woken up this morning by thunder, it was so powerful all my windows were vibrating from the soundwave, half asleep I firstly assumed the Kwinana refinery must have exploded, but then I looked outside and saw it was raining. Boks too good...or Wallabies too bad 🤔 I can't decide.
Don’t read too much into the game. Rugby Union in Australia has been dead for over a decade. To be fair, I find it comical that we will be hosting the World Cup in 2027😂😂😂 Congrats to the Boks
If the scrums were on in the second half Australia would have been pulverized. Not scoring when it is 100% on is a concern for the Bokke. A tight game won’t be so forgiving so they have to up their game when the white line is calling. Always enjoy your perspective Tim. Thanks
The weather was the same for both teams.... Australia is in big trouble......from being a real strength in world rugby..... Could easily be beaten by any regional team. Wonder what the solution is. Thanks for your channel.... Really good
I think that was a better than expected performance from both teams. The Springboks with their 10 changes created realistic try opportunities (above expectations) and should have been up an additional 10 points at least at half time.
Yeah messy game but total agree with you. Terrible weather and to me it was good to see some of the new peeps start. Hard thing to say but it's also good to lose for new people. It's important to learn the emotional skills of handling defeat. The boys will be ready for the next world cup
Well done the Springboks. I think Rassie must give the newbies a free pass on this game. The conditions were torrid and that coupled with first game jitters makes a good performance very hard. I just wish that referees will take note of how Marika Koroibete tackles. He never uses his arms and always leads with the shoulder. Note to Australian fans: Dont go off the deep end with couch Smith. He will need time, talent and committed players to build Australia up again.
Good win - lots of guts shown by guys that aren’t regular starters. But we need to polish up on our restarts and putting teams away when we are on the red zone. This side has shown that hey are very detail oriented and that bodes well for the future. And please don’t praise Sasha too much - you are putting the ‘mockers on him’ lol!
Lots to feel good about on both sides and lots to just forget. Yes it was wet and conditions aweful, but it was still a game that brought out the amazing resilience in players like Eben, PSTD and others. Bokke wasted so much ball it is not funny, but they still had a crack in the wet which is good. Lots of weird official decisions but one has to absorb that. I think Aus rugby is in serious trouble and the world really need them to play good rugby. I think they are going to get a hiding in Argentina. Very much looking forward to the Bok AB game on Ellispark.
Should have been 50 -12 but I really commend the Boks for keeping Australia from scoring any tries! Some really dumb penalties given away by us, Ruan Nortjie of all people, right in their goal line 😮, but happy with the series Aus tour results overall! Go Bokke!!!🎉🎉
My takeaways. 1. 10 changes and boks still looked solid. 2. When we play the boks next week I hope they start moerat. He weakens the pack alot. 3. I think Louw is a good player but i am not scared of him at 8. He doesnt have that x factor and thats just my opinion. Think someone like roos is more like a Ardie prototype.
Not the best game, though second half was slightly better. The important thing for SA is that Rassie’s calculated risk taking paid off. Thanks Tim, always interesting to hear your takes. I hope Australia improves. World Rugby needs Australia as the major tier 1 Rugby force it once was.
@@5jacksonsjourney179Use your brain. The front 3 and all locks were C team. Van Staden is the worst player on a 6-2 bench. PSDT is a starter. Elrigh Louw is behind Kwagga and Jasper Wiese, so 3rd choice at best. Morne at 9 is 5th choice. Sacha is 2nd choice. Am is 3rd choice 12. Kriel is 1st choice. Mapimpi is 2nd team wing. Kolbe is 1st choice. Fassi is 3rd choice behind Willemse and Willie. That’s a C team.
I was frustrated by how greedy some players were and how impatient we were by the tryline. 2 weeks in a row we have left 4 tries on the field. We need to be more clinical. The ABs made it look like it wasn't raining by them.
Why didn't PSDT just slide over the line, by the time he popped it up to Jesse he was almost on the line. And if Sacha fm and Mapimps got those tries I would've felt better but considering I said before the game that I'd be happy with a 12 point win and a BP I guess I can't complain too much, it looks like the Aussie curse is well and truly broken now and in that weather I didn't think it would suit the Bulls players at all, so glad these chaps got some good game time. Great try from Fassi, Marco, Marx is back and I think Aus must just keep on with what they building and focus on their tests against Arg and then give NZ a good run for their money, there still might be another upset yet to come and we need the Wallabies to improve so we can start hating them again. For the Boks, well done on the win, onwards and upwards, wonder what all the haters will say after they had so much to say of the selection and yet the Boks achieved a similar score...
I'm not disappointed with the boys, they played as well as they could in that rain and with the changes made. I'm just sad I didn't see that attacking lineup that we had. Well played Aus, looking forward to seeing you keep on building.

If you can’t scrum, it should be a free kick to the opposition team every single time. Absolutely ruins a game to see an uncontested scrum.
Why should that be the case when it’s because of injury
Been waiting for your review and analysis Tim
Fantastic analysis as always mate. This must be the best Springbok team/era in history. Enjoying it while it lasts 🙂.I think a lot of the success is due to the development at grass root levels in the last decade. Fantastic mix of talent coming through from diverse backgrounds which is excellent to see.
Not too bad in tough conditions. The ref was good. I believe the Boks will do better and hope the Wallabies find their form soon.
The Springboks depth has been confirmed..if there was any doubt..
In their defence,,,nerves aside,,, let's give these newbies a fair chance, the weather dominated proceedings 👌Go Bokke, now for ABs 🇿🇦🙂👌
I think four names can be confidently added to 'the primary list'
BJ Dixon, Nortje, Marco VS, and Fassi...
I didnt mind the game, it was a wet one but still a fun one to watch. Australia had a bit of a fight in them, but the bench once again was to much for them. Hoping to see Aussies keep on improving week after week.
The Boks always struggle in wet weather. It just does not rain as much in large areas of our country.
The reality is the Boks are overwhelming favourites for the games against the ABs. All the pressure is on them.
Kudos to Jan Hendrik Wessels, he scrummed well for his first test at prop, he is going to become a good prop under Daan Human,
SA school rugby final - Paul Roos Gimnasuim vs Grey College in the rain. Look how these school boys play rugby in the rain!
Wasn't the best game to watch live but still good to be there.
Bokke fans pretty much 4:1 to aussie fans (they even had boerewors rolls for sale, which i have NEVER seen at an aussie sporting game)
I think the weather combined with scrappiness of game kinda killed the vibe of the crowd.
Re-watching the game now to kinda see what happened in some stages we couldnt work out.
So how come the SA anthem was so poorly sung ? Did you okes forget the words since you been Australia?
@jksinorbit poorly sung? You talking about the crowd or the singer?
Never thought I would ever see the Ausies this bad. I'm happy with the win, but the real Rugby Championship will start on 31 August @ Ellis Park.
Well done Boks!! Terrible weather but still a bonus point win....can't ask for more.
Now for the AB's.... 13:57
Great channel and I enjoy listening to your views 🇿🇦
10 changes... wet conditions.. non contested scrums.. bonus point win.. job done.. boks will be happy..
That’s pretty much how I see it too
Not happy too many changes, get rid of number 10
@@darrenjackson6810I wouldnt be showing off my lack of rugby knowledge here, if I were you, hey.
Boks won't be happy, the coaches even less so. No team should be happy with that level of performance.
I just accept the 5 points and never talk about this game again. Springbok a professional job done, nothing fancy.
Yo egg man....thank for your honest commentary. You put the punters to shame, mate.
Love this channel great work!!
Tim, are you going to watch Grey College vs Paul Roos this afternoon?
Thanks mate, spot on as usual.
In South Africa not much rain, Rassie must start training with lawn sprinklers..
In the rain we're not to good , only Pollard can play in the rain.
Haha...come to Cape town. We've built boat houses so we can stay afloat 😂😂
100% right Tim this team was there to attack, back line set for running rugby. Mistakes keep piling up.
Thanks. Your comments are to the point and interesting.
Don’t read too much into the game. Rugby Union in Australia has been dead for over a decade.
To be fair, I find it comical that we will be hosting the World Cup in 2027😂😂😂
Congrats to the Boks
You'll laugh your ass off when the lions come just next year!
😂😂😂😂
@@fonz114 Let the misery begin 😂
Sacha made some mental errors out there
Love your videos and commentary. Perthfontein 😂😂😂
If the scrums were on in the second half Australia would have been pulverized. Not scoring when it is 100% on is a concern for the Bokke. A tight game won’t be so forgiving so they have to up their game when the white line is calling. Always enjoy your perspective Tim. Thanks
Great summary- matches my initial feedback as posted, job 👍
Don't blame Joe S, if you don't have the horses you don't have the horses
The weather was the same for both teams.... Australia is in big trouble......from being a real strength in world rugby..... Could easily be beaten by any regional team. Wonder what the solution is. Thanks for your channel.... Really good
The rain in Perthfontein falls mainly on Jean Kleyn
Will you start sharing your videos on X too mate? Big fan!
The toughest team of men in the world, this contest was held in the most apauling weather...
I like the sound of it. "Perthfontein, Perth Elizabeth, Perthspruit". Hilarious😂😂😂
The substitution stunt pulled by Australia resulting in uncontested scrums showed how soft and cowardice this team is.
I love your content, i watch almost every video every time you post
As an south African im sad that auz is so bad its making the souht weak, and ARG not far behind, we need to make the south strong again
Sa C Team wins with uncontested scrums. This is why Ozruga is in thick deep sheep shit
C team is quite arrogant. Only a few positions short of our strongest 23.
@5jacksonsjourney179 the bench obviously was class but there are alot of C team players. Props, hooker, locks, 8th man, scrumhalf, 12 and 15.
@@jameswyatt4443I don't think it's a C team if there are three 3rd choice players in a 23 man squad.
@@jameswyatt4443 well said james
I was frustrated by how greedy some players were and how impatient we were by the tryline.
2 weeks in a row we have left 4 tries on the field.
We need to be more clinical.
The ABs made it look like it wasn't raining by them.
The young guys are learning, give them time.
Great analysis!
My favorite sports gernelist ,Tim, well balanced commentary.
Thanks Tim. I am a rugby fan who enjoys any good game and your annalisses
Love your channel thanks for the great videos.
I'm not disappointed with the boys, they played as well as they could in that rain and with the changes made. I'm just sad I didn't see that attacking lineup that we had. Well played Aus, looking forward to seeing you keep on building.
Have to say the ausie scrum move was brilliant. Dont want to face your opponents scrum take off your props easy as pie.
