This was hilariously entertaining! You guys needed road bikes and the aero helmets used in the Tour de France and I’m sure you’d have won. Great video!
The result was really determined by the starting point, probably would have gone the other way if you started at the ferry rather than spotswood station.
Love the editing, would've been great if you could briefly outline the route you are going to take for someone who's not living in Melbourne who has no clue, otherwise great video! :)

OMG!!! I also have The Train Game! I got it for Christmas last year. We were going to play it on our family trip on The Ghan in April for my Starlight Wish, but didn't end up using it. So it's still in the box/tin. I can't wait to play it one day though. Love that you're promoting it too!
@@thetrainman548 I used to commute that ferry nearly every day of the week, and would take my toddler in a bike seat from childcare. The then ferry pilot would sometimes turn back around if I was late to get me on instead of having to wait another 20 mins. Then there was the time we ran out of gas in the middle of the shipping lane....
Mate great stuff... But you needed to go full lyrcra with a road bike and even shave the legs and the aero gains would've easily saved you two minutes 😂 " If you ain't first you're last "

Your skills have shot through the roof for making a very watchable video. Loving the syncopation of the film in time with the music and the opening was amazing. Professional as all heck! Question: How goes the schooling in lock down?
Seems like the cyclists went up the Yarra and then down Todd Rd. Would've probably been quicker going through Westgate Park instead. Great video though!

That was very exciting sorry you lost the challenge better luck next time I can't believe how knowagble you are on our train network for someone so young I have appreciated finding out the hidden secrets of Melbourne's train network as I am a train nerd myself keep it up best wishes from a fellow melburnian 🚇🚂🚉
I think its a good race, and in the future, might be a good idea to add 1 motorist -driving as part of the race, many times I notice public transport can be faster than bike and driving, and if you can produce a video that proof public transport are efficient and fast-that'll be fantastic

i suspect its a station on the stony point line i heard the line to baxter i think was getting electrified so dual tracks on that line would make sense

I would suggest a similar race between somewhere on the Glen Waverley Line to somewhere on the Dandenong line (Maybe Glen Waverley to Clayton stations) would not be so close!
I was in Melbourne last week, rode the Stony Point railmotor. It’s a great little trip, you must do a report on it, lots of historic rail stuff along the way.
Sad, I brought both editions of the Train Game last year (Melbourne & Sydney) and put them away. These are hard to get in Sydney. I had to travel to Newcastle to get them. So this is why I have put them away. For the Gandkids one day???? I hope.

Those old tracks would have been the short lived Webb Dock freight line, built in the 80s but abandoned a decade later.
