How do you get the registration bubbles on the polyester plastic?

Also what do you think of using your finished mold for paper mache copies of this wolf or another similar piece?

Please tell more about how those bubbles are made in the plastic shims. Also please provide a full product list and where to buy the chopped fiberglass because I do not have a chopper. only a food blender, lol. My current project is a life sized Mountain lion made from paper mache, covered with paper mache clay and joiint compound. so a release agent for that particular layer will also be used and would like to know if vasoline covered with blue tape is a good choice for that layer?

Thanks for posting this..gets a sub. like.. I always had a thing for 3d. 20 years ago I was going to try to make a living at sculpture but decided to do murals instead because I didn't think the demand was there. It was a good call then. Now after all these years Im going to go back to 3D again.

Please put fibreglass and resin into your title, I've been searching for days for a tutorial for this.

I was wondering if you can do a video on how you filled the mold up? Because of shape and legs. How would you add concrete? Plaster etc?

Wow I'm really grateful for seeing this video. Thanks a lot for sharing!
    - do you also have a video of the process after mold is done? How do you cut open the mold on those created walls?
    - how did you create those plastic sheets with ball shape in it? (Registration keys). Are those thermoformed or do you make it somehow yourself?

      Lennart,
I don't think we have a video of cutting and de-molding yet. That is a good idea and we will see if we can get one done soon. We start the de-molding process by cutting the edge of the shim with a reciprocating saw with an all purpose blade. Then we use chisels, wedges and pry bars to start separating it and working off the piece.
We have a vacuum form machine here and make them out of very thin plastic. Most mold making supply stores should have a variation of them you can buy by the sheet. We have thought about selling them ourselves but we would have to charge so much for them we would not feel good about it. I hope this answers your questions. Sorry for the delay, for some reason I did not get the notification from UA-cam about your comment.

Jesus…. None of them wearing face masks. Fibreglass is something you would need to cover your face when working with folks.

Have you ever made a urethane foam (pour foam) mother mold? So Clay object, release, rubber, release, and then pour foam as outside layer. Ever tried that?
