I have no recollection of a senate election in Alberta. When do these take place? I don't remember any campaign coverage for senators or any other communication regarding electing Alberta senators and I get daily news releases from the Alberta Government. How do these people get elected?
They were on the ballot in the most recent municipal election (2021). -rpj
I voted for the Alberta Senator’s
@@RealTalkRJ Huh, I wonder if I voted? I do recall being surprized by now many names were on the ballot. I was also surprized by how many of them I had never seen before. Of course, I wasn't listening to Ryan Jesperson in 2021. :)
I don’t think People quite understand how much more expensive things have become. I was talking to a vendor that builds specialized trucks like Vac trucks and other equipment. The price of a chassis alone has gone up over a 100 grand in the last 2 years. Those kind of hikes in prices of equipment are going to make huge impact on construction projects.
The Constant delays the provincial government has been putting on this project is the biggest factor in the ballooning costs.
Process needs change as PM makes poor decisions that really aren’t independent and some really show that with out looking very hard. System needs change definitely.
I'm laughing (not really) on Erika's shock at how the price goes through the roof and you get less and less. WELCOME TO THE AVERAGE CANADIANS DAILY EXPERIENCE! So out of touch...
Billy Bob’s ah goooood times!!!!
The BEST! Remember buying shots through the chicken wire? -rpj
Outgoing premier, Danielle Smith has no understanding of how senators are elected.
What do you expect from the paper ballots group 😂
Erika is such a grifter. Thank God she didn't get appointed to the Senate.
If you vote NDP, you're voting Liberal. Probly not the representation that NDP voters are looking for.
Exactly...they obviously feel they've got to start making that distinction clear! -rpj
Voting NDP has kept Edmonton from turning Conservative, so I'm happy to keep doing it.
@@JonathanSicoli good for you johnathan. keep voting NDP and you can show us stupid UCP voters a thing or two.
@@ronaldlroberts9109 Thanks! I'm so glad you care. I'm sure UCP voters have some things they care about and want to improve, too, but lately all I've been seeing is the culture war.
It wasn’t a “members only town hall”
How can we change how the senators are put in? They should be elected by the people just like the government does. Aren't these senators independent now?
the reason we dont have senate elections is because, guess who brought home the constitution justins daddy who ran an identical govt to this failed crap weve been living with for nine years . and i feel it looks good on this liberals to not even having a chance in hell of even being the next opposition.
Supposed to be independent. But does anybody really buy that? -rpj
Thank you for speaking up about the state of healthcare, Ryan. I live near one of the rural covenant hospitals- they are closed just as often, perhaps more than the AHS ones surrounding them. They are not a better operator. It’s all about staffing. If we were in a healthy position, maybe it would be an ok time to restructure- it’s never a good time to do it when you’re struggling and it’s not fixing the actual problem. We can see data about good systems in many European countries, so why aren’t we looking that way? Same for education
I don’t understand why we think we have senate elections. I’ve never voted in a senate election, or been asked. I have never missed an election in any place I’ve lived.
(If you voted in the 2021 municipal election, you would have seen it. That doesn't mean everybody participates...) -rpj
Real Talk didn’t start for 240 seconds
He is not that interesting
Daniele is still flooding alberta. My kids didn’t need summer jobs or a doctor.
This right wing lady is horrible.
Canada needs to get rid of Royal decent period
She doesn’t even understand a senator. A senator is a Canadian who happens to be from Alberta.
Edmonton elected gay Randy as their MP. Look how well that is working out with his conflicts of interests and ethics violations
Is this a lefty podcast?
Is Erika Barootes a lefty? -rpj
Well sing is not a smart person he talks before he thinks
She said, spelling his name wrong.
More leftists on the ryan jesperson show. Unsurprising
Darn people that actually want to help others. How terrible.
More like socialists or communists.
@@albertapatriot3877fun fact: socialists hate authoritarian Communists too. Because authority leads to power being concentrated in a single group of people, and people can be wrong. As can systems.
I'm not sure what's next for Alberta, but I'm not onboard with Danielle making these big group decisions to be 'anti woke' or spend our money on rebuying AHS infra, TWICE. Having pushback from someone who isn't a UCP toady can only mean she has to consider what her opposition thinks.
Erika's a leftist? LOL. -rpj
@@RealTalkRJ Alberta specifically is under the influence of some powerful flavor aid. It unironicallly pushes people further left when they see how full of themselves the UCP are
