Interesting that in the US, they don't even test for alcohol, but get drivers barely able to stand walk a straight line. In the UK it's a handy excuse for police who want to search a car to claim 'I can smell cannabis in this car'. I passed my car driving test whilst stoned. Passed my HGV class 2 and then class 1 stoned. Smoked a joint, driving to the test! I was TESTED, and I met or exceeded the standard to pass those tests WHILST stoned. Now im look at becoming a medical user so I can continue to drive without any worries.
It’s driving under the influence that can still cause you major issues because you’re realistically stoned, the influence even the next day being in your system is enough for a conviction that you’ll have to go to court and prove you wasn’t over the influence.
I have a friend who introduced me to Curaleaf, he was drug tested and failed obviously for cannabis, during that time he became a curative patient, and has a prescription, his company have now told him he is free to drive again. He will never be drug tested in future, Andy is driving a company vehicle for them? So how could it be illegal to drive your personal car when companies are told with a prescription you were allowed to drive their vehicles?
This issue swirls around repeatedly and has done so since the 60s. The problem is the law, cannabis should never have been targeted by those who think they have the right to control others. Now, America, the country which launched the ludicrous 'war on drugs' which has itself led to the creation of hundreds of 'legal' highs, many of which actually are dangerous. Every scientific survey ever conducted into cannabis and driving, from an extensive survey in California in the 60s, to more recernt ones, all using realtime road monitoring as well as driving simulators, showed consisently that regular users' driving while 'under the influence' was better than average; they drove a bit slower, showed more awareness of other road users and road conditions, were more polite considerate, and better at anticipating possible dangers and taking avoidance action. The problem seems to be that even those arguing for cannabis acceptance and for a change to the bigoted attitudes [as these people], have accepted that there is impairment without any evidence being presented. Perhaps they assume it wouldn't be illegal if there was none? Well, there never was a scientific justification for the law, it was presented to US politicians with a racist slant, and an entirely fictitious account of what it did to users brains, all created as misinformation to enable the hemp plant to be outlawed for commercial reasons. Now with two thirds of US states legalised, it won't be long before the Federal government falls into line, and then where is the UK government's ludicrous, illogical stance without the big brother's backing? All the effort going into manipulating round ignorant legislation should be ditected towards expanding the use of cannabis to encompass all the medical issues so far ignored; I am prescribed for chronic pain, bnut I also have g;laucoma, which has shown actual real improvement since I was [prescribed, I also have ADHD, which some clinic are prescribing for, and my insomnia makes up to four conditiuons being treated with just one medicine. If that isn't an obvious plus for the NHS, I think it must be run to enrich pharmaceutical companies. Perhaps everyone should be campaigning to have the legislation scrapped, and not be so keen to separate themselves from so-called 'illegal use'. Many illegal users are self medicating, having found out for themselves that it helps with their condition. A good example being military vets who use it to treat the PTSD which is any sane person's response to the killing fields of international politics.
Thanks so much for this. We should make flyers and spread it around. People are too ignorant lacking of key information. Too much prejudice and discrimination around .

label "may cause impairment - do not operate heavy machinery" is essentially the drug company waiving *their* liability for *your* impairment. It is the sole responsibility of the person taking the medication to judge whether they are impaired or not. "Only drive when stabilised"
Roadside test will still show you as impaired 24hrs later after consumption so your personal judgement has little effect on the way the law works against you
How impaired is a person suffering chronic pain 24/7? I'll tell you, much more than any tiny effect from cannabis. I would suggest new users might be best getting used to the herb first before venturing into the road network, but for long time users they know when they are safe to drive, and the amounts taken medicinally even in your 'bad day' scenario are way less than those inhaled for getting high.
