My husband and I lived in Boise for 6 years and it is where we met and fell in love - 17 years later and we still want to move back! Thank you for reminding me of it's beauty and all of the reasons we hope to one day live there again :) I love your videos btw, they allow me to be able to "get away" from this crazy world we live in now, even if just for a bit :)

I grew up in Boise, moved to Seattle when I was 8, went back for a few years and had a great time, I will always call it my home and I’m actually considering moving back soon! Such a beautiful city and so many nice people.
Moved to Eagle, ID (next to Boise) four years ago and love it here a little more every day. I can't imagine living anywhere else....plenty to do, nice people, just beautiful.
As a Boise Basque who has rolled about 3,000 croquetas in my life, I can tell you it's a bechamel sauce that has some type of meat or fish inside and fried in panko! A staple always! So happy to see you enjoying our little piece of the Northwest😊

What beautiful views on your sunset hike! I loved those pillowy soft, green, rolling hills! The food looked absolutely awesome...especially those potatoes...I’m a sucker for my spuds! My daughter moved to Boise in July, went to visit. Tried to climb Table Rock, made the mistake of going in the afternoon and was not able to complete the hike. Probably made it 80 percent to the top and had to abort. No shade anywhere. I was so bummed so it’s on my list for next visit. Made me feel better with what you said about the hike, loved the pictures of what I missed!
Actually Paella is made with rabbit and absolutely no chorizo is allowed but as long as you loved it I’m happy; about the peppers they are called Pimientos de Padrón and there’s a small verse people say, “pimientos de Padrón, unos pican y otros non” Padrón peppers, some will be spicy and others don’t. Please do come to the Basque region of Spain, with beautiful mountains, lovely beaches and great food. Ongi Etorri!

We were doing quite well with the Covid outbreaks but because so many people are just doing whatever they want the numbers are increasing and they are talking about closing things down again, sad and frustrating. If everyone would just do what they ask we'd be alright and have a bit more freedom. I'm so thankful for people like you guys 👍
It is very sad and frustrating. We have thankfully seen so many people doing what they need to do to reduce the spread, but also seen a lot of people who aren’t.

It's amazing...I often look to international destinations when I think of interesting things to see and do, but videos like this one remind me that there are plenty of cool things to see here in the US! The ice cream flavors you guys described sound incredible, and the Basque dishes you had sound right up my alley. The hike at the end looked breathtaking, too!
While we love traveling internationally, we also love getting people excited about the US! There is so much beauty, diverse scenery, fun cities, and delicious food here and we are so glad that we can share some cool places with you!
14:38 is the Old State Pen. You can go in and tour the facility and see the hanging room where many prisoners were executed. Said to be one of the most haunted places in Idaho.
We would’ve loved to check it out, well assuming the ghosts were kind to us haha. I think it was closed by the time we got there 😔 But to anyone reading this and visiting Boise, go there!
I lived in Nampa last summer and spent 3 hours in the prison learning the history! So fascinating! I also learned about the Merci Train, boxcars given to each of the states as gifts from France after WWII. Idaho’s gifted boxcar was in one of the old factory buildings. I’d never heard of this gift before but you can look it up and find where each state’s boxcar resides. I am a Washingtonian as well and ours, I believe, is in Puyallup.
What part of Texas are yall from? I live in Austin and am looking for comparable cities in case my family and I ever decide to move out. Can you compare the two?
We are from Austin! Boise feels like Austin before it got big. When I first visited Boise in 2016, before we moved to Seattle (and lived in Austin at the time), the downtown area gave me smaller Austin vibes, with tree lined streets, local restaurants, etc. I really loved it! And we have been back a couple times since and continue to love Boise. The amount of nature close by is amazing and Idaho as a whole is gorgeous! Boise, from our understanding, is becoming more popular and getting more expensive though, similar to Austin. But for now, it seems to be keeping that smaller city vibe that Austin once had. I don't think Boise has the nightlife scene of Austin (we aren't nightlife people, so we cannot speak to that) and it does get colder in the winters (summers are hot!), but it seems like a great place to raise a family like Austin is. Hopefully that helps some!
@@AdventuresofAplusK go to the Village at Meridian. (Google some images, very cool looking). They have a free outdoor summer concert series. Also there is a fountain show like the Bellagio,. Stop in at Big Al's, two level bar/arcade with pool tables and a bowling alley. Great vibe.
For all my years of trucking, I've only been through Idaho a handful of times. I'd love to visit it slowly. I've never in my 65 years heard of 'Basque' food. No ice cream in the world can outshine Yarnell's Real Vanilla. j/s

I loved your video. My family visited Boise twice and we absolutely love it there. We are from CT and we are always talking about how amazing our visits were. The fresh air, peace and atmosphere was so lovely. We often speak about relocating to Boise!
Only some ice cream has eggs in it! Some of our favorites like Salt and Straw and Jeni's don't use egg for most of their ice creams which is awesome! I try to always check and see beforehand. But if I have a little it'll just make my stomach hurt for a bit. Thankfully no death ;)

Just in case you get to Northern Idaho. In Kellogg there is Silver Cup Coffee roasters. Really great flavor and they deal with small batch farmers.

Hahahaha this made us laugh! 🤣 Goat cheese is something we recently started to like, but I don’t blame you for being over it lol! Our top ice creams so far are: Salt & Straw, Frankie & Jo’s, Jeni’s, and The STIL. I can’t eat Tillamook anymore because it has eggs in it 😫 but I do cheat sometimes 😉

I loved your video. My family visited Boise twice and we absolutely love it there. We are from CT and we are always talking about how amazing our visits were. The fresh air, peace and atmosphere was so lovely. We often speak about relocating to Boise!

Only some ice cream has eggs in it! Some of our favorites like Salt and Straw and Jeni's don't use egg for most of their ice creams which is awesome! I try to always check and see beforehand. But if I have a little it'll just make my stomach hurt for a bit. Thankfully no death ;)
