One of my favorite Easter Eggs is how they let you know that Trevor was a red herring about to be framed by the real killers when he shows up to the afterparty dressed in the same clothes that Sidney's dad was wearing in the first film when he was framed by Billy & Stu -- Khakis, Green Polo, Jean Jacket

Behind Billy and Stu(and maybe Mrs. Loomis), Jill is honestly my favorite Ghostface. She was COMMITTED. She was UNHINGED. And she was FASCINATING. Her motive aged extremely well considering the things people do for even 5 seconds of fame in today's time. Originally, Jill was supposed to survive and Sidney was supposed to be in a coma. Scream 5 would be about Jill now being targeted by Ghostface(likely since being so famous AND connected to Sidney would put a huge target on her back). And I'm assuming the main conflict for that movie would be if Sidney regained her memories, Jill's entire story would go down the drain. But, Scream 4 underwent some last minute script changes and we got the fight in the hospital instead. Jill would've been the first Ghostface to survive a movie and almost achieve her goal. She almost broke the trend. But then people changed the scripts. Still an iconic Ghostface. Still an iconic movie
Jill’s motive was so ahead of its time. Kudos to the screenwriters who thought about this well aged motive. It’s still holds up until today’s society.

@@nomadman5288 you’re true, but the antagonist’s motive was obsessed and seeking for fame in the internet/social media era. That was something new in horror genre at that time. Considering it was came out in 2011, where social media was not as huge as it is today.
Jill sucked as ghostface. Good villain but was barely ghostface and when she was it sucked
I have to admit Jill is definitely up there with my favorite ghost face reveals she was literally INSANE. I also found it interesting Jill basically was mirroring Sidney’s life, gained sympathy, committed to the plan, and came pretty damn close to getting away with it.
In 2011 my jaw was on the floor in the theater. Her motive is the most shockingly plausible reasoning that simply blew me away, so ahead of it's time was Scream 4 & it's social commentary
In alternate ending she did get away with it and scream 5 was going to be with Sidney surviving but having amnesia and protecting Jill in college because someone knew what she done and was killing her friends

This contains one of my favorite lines in all of cinema --- "You forgot the first rule of remakes, Jill. Don't f*ck with the original."
"I'm gonna slit your eyelids in half, so you don't blink when I stab you in the face. You'll die when I want you to, not a minute more. Until then I'm gonna make you suffer!" & "If you hang up on me I'll cut though your neck until I feel bone!!" - I've not heard Ghostface that brutal before this point. I loved this script!! 🥰
This is the kind of risky sequel more studios should make.
FYI, the movie was advertised (heavily) as a passing of the torch.
The new cast was all over magazine covers, etc, talking about carrying on the Scream legacy.
Then Kevin and Wes said “Nah”, and just murdered all of them.
It’s quite the twist if you were there for all the hype on the ‘new kids taking over’.

I loved that about it too! They totally marketed it as if this was the new generation. Going into the movie, I totally thought that we’d be following the new, teenage survivors from Scream 4 on out. Just to have the rug totally pulled out from under me. Which, IMO, was _such_ a great move!
The film was not heavily marketed. The assumption was that it would make bank and box office automatically.
This film was suppose to be the start of a new trilogy where the next movie Jill survived and was in college and the hero but another ghostface starting attacking etc it never ended happening
That was a stupid way of continuing. I’m glad that didn’t happen

The third act with Emma Roberts in this movie is so amazing.
When Olivia is being killed and Jill and Kirby are watching from their window you can see Jill holding her phone against the window to film it like they filmed all their kills.
I hate this “theory” because that video angle would’ve 100% gave it away that jill was involved.

I just hate how much charlie is so underrated! For the one doing almost all the killing, no one really talks about how good of a ghostface he was. Rory culkin did an amazing job with that roll.

Jill going batshit crazy and fucking herself up _hardcore_ at the end is one of my favorite moments throughout the _entire_ Scream franchise. She just sells it _soooooo_ goddamn well! Which helps to make that scene *everything* in my eyes! lol.
If I can say _anything_ about the character of Jill Roberts with complete certainty it’s, *”That bitch is fucking CRAZY”.* lol.
And then, at the _actual end_ of the movie, even though it’s corny AF, I also absolutely *love* the exchange of, “Clear.” “Clear?” “Clear!” lol. I just love _everything_ about it! lol.
The score to this film is so much better than the one in Scream 2 as well. This one is sleek, tense and suspenseful.
Roman wanted the life Sidney had before the killings.
Jill wanted the life Sidney has after the killings.
Wes' original idea was to end the movie on a cliffhanger.
The next film would be set a few years later, with Sidney still in a coma. Jill and Kirby would be going to College, before a new Ghostface causes a rampage on campus... putting pressure on Jill because the new Killer knows the truth.
It was Kevin Williamson’s idea for a cliffhanger ending. Not Wes. You know Kevin Williamson the man who wrote 1,2, and 4. But in 5 Sidney was going to have amnesia not wasn’t in a coma.

A great return to the franchise it was way ahead of it’s time with technology and the motive. Jill is my favorite ghostface not only is she the smartest ghostface but almost got away with it and came the closest to killing Sidney. Olivia’s death showed the return to form with the gore that was missing in scream 3. I love how Sidney officially comes to terms with everything that’s happened to her and instead of running away from ghostface in her first encounters in the previous movies this time she charges in and beats ghostface’s ass and the phone call before that happens was great.
Yes imo Roman and Jill are the smartest ghost faces. Roman for being the master mind and Jill for planning and covering her tracks perfectly until she let that stupid comment slip

I agree that she was really smart with how she played that! I'm pretty sure Charlie killed Olivia though, because she was playing her role on the phone! I absolutely love this movie!

Scream 4 was too ahead of its time. Wes Craven knew what was up (RIP). Fun fact, he purposefully put a filter over the movie that all movies were doing at the time because this films motive is a play on remakes (remakes were rampant around this time in 2011). Legit was a genius. I feel this movie has gotten more love over the years because of how accurate it was. Predicted vloggers/youtubers before it was even a thing. This is the most rewatchable out of the series, in my opinion.
The filter was ass and doesn’t hold up. I get why they wanted the filter but it bothers ppl to this day 😂
Scream 4 was a BLAST… S5 and S6 can’t even scratch the surface of the excellence that is S4

When this came out back then, ppl thought the motive was ridiculous. It’s not so ridiculous now. It was way ahead of its time.
I never clicked so fast 😂 this scream brought it back to basics! Ghostface got more violent and menacing in this one. It's not a perfect movie and the brightness annoys tf outta me lol but it's definitely good ! A very solid scream movie. But tbh 5 and 6 is way way better. Can't wait for y'all to react to those! Fun fact for scream 5 there’s an HUGE easter egg that’s a callback to scream 4 and is also very relevant to scream 6! Pay extra close attention to when richie is eating pizza in his motel room watching youtube vids!!
Everyone loves Dewey but he literally does nothing in these movies like ever lol.
8:38 That’s not Crazy Frog, it’s the original track that Crazy Frog sampled called “Axel F” by Harold Faltermeyer written for and used heavily throughout the 1984 movie Beverly Hills Cop. So yes, it makes perfect sense that Dewey, would use that as a ring tone due to his law enforcement career and he would have been a tween/young teen when that movie came out; it was a quintessential cop movie of his youth (and the biggest grossing film of ‘84… and, when adjusted for inflation, the 3rd highest grossing R film of all time). Harold Faltermeyer was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Score and was one of the long list of people who won a Grammy for Best Score Soundtrack Album for that movie and piece of music.
Scream 4 is one of the best imo. Jill is my favourite ghostface, like others said she’s unhiiiiinged and it’s amazing. Emma Roberts was perfect for the role.

I followed Wes Craven on Flickr during production of Scream 4 & he was obvious he was asked to shoot & reshoot by the studio. The opening was reshot & there is an alternative version available but the studio wanted more of a role for Roger Jackson as Ghostface before the sisters were killed + there is almost another movie with the amount of deleted scenes. Over 20+ mins of it!! Someone put them ALL together (Known as the extended cut & its viewable on UA-cam btw)
I made that extended cut back in the day and people took it from google drive and even made blurays of it haha.
I tried asking Miramax back then if they could add even more of the deleted scenes in a future release cause there are:
at least 2 more with Kate Roberts (before Jill leaves for school she is having breakfast and a bit later she visits Sidney at the booksigning where she is being a bit 'off').
Sidney talking to the doctor (who turns out to be the brother of Steve from part 1).
There was a scene with Trevor in Cinemaclub standing up and then starts blaming Sidney for everything.
A scene at the Stabathon where Gale hides from a ghostface who turns out to be a stab fan who then starts peeing next to her car.
Judy arriving at the Stabathon where she calls to ask why the ambulance is taking so long.
Jill calling the cops on her phone acting like she is being attacked (while Sid watches).
There were quite a few more.

The original plan was to keep Jill alive, Sidney would've survived but wouldn't have any recollection of Jill being the killer and the sequel would have taken place in college were Sidney would be a professor and Jill a student, and a copycat would have emerged, ending Scream 4 with a ghostface winning would have been a bold but exciting move.
Sidney would still be in a coma, not a teacher.
1, 2, and 4 are my favorites of these movies, but i honestly love all of them. Most consistent horror franchise out there. I can't wait for yall to get to 5 and 6.

So you probably won't see this but in original drafts of the script Dewey and Gale did have a kid. However this was eventually changed because Wes and co felt it was weird to have Gale showing up at crime scenes with a baby, and they couldn't figure out how have a kid and have Dewey and Gale do all that they needed them to so they decided to have to cut the kid.
You guys talked over it but new randy said earlier in the movie that basically the only way to survive a modern horror film was to be gay. That’s why he said he was gay when ghostface attacked him
i remember watching this in the cinema and wow, was a total experience and it’s my favorite: ahead of his times, best opening scene playing with us, best OG vital moments in they life, great new cast and the best reveal…

From what i remember the cop being stabbed in the head and surviving for a few seconds was based on an actual event where someone was stabbed in the head and didn't immediately die.

Now 5 is very divisive. Some people love it, some people hate it with all their might. Don't mind the hate comments trying to disencourage you to watch it. Like we've been saying since 1, there really isn't such a thing as a bad Scream movie. Can't wait for the next reaction! And until then, I'll be rewatching these to keep the anticipation under control. 😅
Yea not a bad scream movie in the bunch. Just 2 1/2 disappointing ones. I’ll give them a solid C
So a fact I only realized on my last rewatch of the series. Dewey never actually left the force. In part two he leaves Woodsboro to check up on Sidney. And in part 3 he says he’s in LA on police business trying to figure out who broke into the woodsboro police station.
Nice reaction SCRE4M was released ahead of its time and aged like fine wine because we living those days now lol. Excited for SCREAM 2022 or 5CREAM, SCREAM 5, SCREA/V\ yea get ready for that one 😢

The Hospital scene was studio interference. The original draft script by Kevin Williamson ended the movie on a cliffhanger at the house when someone shouts "We've got a live one here!! > * Fade to black *.. The plan was Jill gets away with it 🤯, Sidney dies but in a Scream 5 Jill gets stalked by a knowing Ghostface..
If we didn't get the ending at the hospital we would not have the fantastic lines "consider this an alternative ending (a nod to the draft script ending) & "You forgot the first rule about remakes, don't fuk with the original" though which I'm torn on 🥰🥰
Also in a deleted scene Dewey works out Jill is the killer instead of Gale

This film was YEARS ahead of its time when it comes to critiquing social media and influencer fame.
Jill is the BEST Ghostface! She's insane!
So, in this one, I didn't catch a few things right away till after I watched it a few times.
1. When everyone was getting alerted in the classroom about Jenny and Marnie getting killed, Jill was the only one who didn't look at her phone.
2. When Jill and Kirby were watching Charlie killing Olivia. Jill had her phone positioned directly on them, videoing it.
3. When Trevor was at Kirbys, he was wearing a similar outfit as Sidney's dad Mr. Prescott in Scream, who was also being framed. Also, Jill was wearing plaid like Billy in Act 3 on Scream.
Fun fact: Originally, Kevin Williamson wanted Kirby to die, but Wes Craven changed it to where he left a possibility that Kirby could come back. When Charlie walked away from her, the camera was still on her moving on the ground. They were going to end this one with "there's a live one here," and Deweys asks if it's Sidney, and then it ends as a cliffhanger. They were also going to put Sidney into a coma after the house scene, and then Scream 5 was going to pick up where she recovers but has no memory of what happened. Jill was going to be in college and finds out that living Sidney's life isn't as glamorous as she thought. Now, there is a killer after her who knows her secret. But because they didn't know if there was going to be a 5th, they didn't want to leave that as an ending for Sidney if it didn't happen because they don't want her to die or have the audience think she was when she wasn't.
Jill is the best ghostface. I know ppl think stu and billy should be by virtue of originality, but jill gets the closest anyone ever gets to winning. And she is DEVOTED TO IT.
This movie and Jill’s motive are so ahead of it’s time. Could totally fit in today’s fame obsessed society.
Billy & Stu will always be the OGs, but Jill was epic in her own way!

Released in 2011 I took my then 18 year old cousins to it but the world had moved on with "horror porn" like Saw & Final Destination desensitising that generation so Scream 4 was tame to them. I thought it was really good, more brutal than before & was ahead of it's time. Jill's reasoning was the most frighteningly plausible for a long time, my jaw was on the floor!! 🤯 It only now gets the love & a cult following it deserved in 2011!!
Just some random fyi, there are 2 versions of Scream 4 with different audio... somehow.
The one you watched was the 'European' version (it has more lines (that come from characters talking off screen and/or redubbed stuff), but no added scenes).
The actress who plays Olivia basically adr'ed ALL her lines in a weird porn voice in this version... most of her voice (Dewey's too) in the USA version is more natural.
From beginning to ending there are dubbed and added lines. The USA version definately sounds more natural though.
I remember when the 'pay per view' version hit the internet it was a huge thing cause there were so many added/ changed lines.

Jill Roberts is the most unique Ghost face cos she was the only case we got to see from the killer's perspective and her motive was the most psychotic (until maybe the fifth installment), but thirst for fame was truly a great motive..
Behind Billy and Stu (get outta here Roman!) Jill is actually my favourite Ghostface as she technically achieved her goal when you break it down.
Remember she wanted fame... She's the type of killer that would upload her and Charlie's videos to the dark net with or without Charlie's consent just so she could get views, likes and inspire future Ghostfaces and other psychopaths globally.
Yay! Thanks for the reaction guys! Jill is definitely one of the best Ghostface reveals. I knew it was either she or/and Charlie, but only because Rory Culkin and Emma Roberts are Hollywood royalty and have a way of looking very evil and innocent at the same time-😆 it just HAD to be both or one them! I find that after this, the franchise is kind of grasping at straws trying to top the first 4 with more gore, but they have substantial, watchable and enjoyable storylines and are great movies. Can't wait to see your reactions to those!

Scream 4 is pretty amazing in my opinion & Jill is one of my favorite ghostfaces because of her commitment & how she is the closest to succeed at getting away with it. This being the last to be directed by the wonderful Wes Craven, I really have a soft spot for this one. He really gets you with the intricate details here! One of my favorites is when Olivia is being attacked, Jill is standing in the window with Kirby recording her POV for their “movie” from her phone against the window. The deleted scenes & unreleased ones I’ve heard about are also insanely incredible. The alternate opening is just as top tier, if you all love this series please check that out! It’s preferred widely by many who have seen it. Wes also had an aftermath of the intro of Dewey at the crime scene with the girls paralleling placement of Casey & Steve’s deaths in 1. I believe this was just another notch to hit with how this was meant to be a remake, but became a deleted scene due to Bob Weinstein’s desires for the film. I also think Jenny Randall was targeted because she was the “other woman” Trevor cheated with, & is also discussed in a deleted scene. Wes also had an alternate ending of Jill having actually succeeded & planned to have future movies centered around her. I just adore Cravens mind & love the work/heart he put into the films. 5 is another to look forward to, but 6 is just on another level. Complete chaos in 6 & I have the worst time ranking the films holistically between 1, 2, 4, & 6. You guys will love the final 2 films based on your commentary/reactions. I can’t wait to watch you all! Much love ❤️❤️

Actually the plan was to have jill survive and the ending was at the house with sid & jill on the floor and scream 5 was gonna have a ghostface coming after jill bc they know that jill was the killer in 4 and sid was gonna have amnesia but they didn’t go through with it. Scream 5 is rough as i previously said but it’s still pretty good! Now scream 6? I LOVED IT! It was so good! The chases, kills, set designs & character development in 6 is so good i loved it!
The actress who played Kirby was in the show Heroes - "save the cheerleader, save the world". So when she *said she had powers, I'm thinking she was referring to her role in the show. Although her powers weren't like that.

Best part of number 4, hands down, is the presence of Madame President.

You were correct that it was someone from the film club, however the killer is never someone you haven't been introduced to and that goes for any mystery book or movie so it could only be Charlie or Robbie and no one else. It's always someone you know, not some random person in the background.

Honestly Roman is my favourite due to the fact he did it alone and went hand to hand with Sidney and his victims he wasn’t letting anyone else do the killings he did them all by himself.

If you guys haven't, I definitely recommend watching the gag reel for this one. The amount of times someone dressed as Ghostface just randomly showed up to pop out at the cast is so funny. And the deleted/alternate scenes as well - they had an alternate opening where Jenny dies first and in front of Marnie instead of Marnie dying offscreen. There's also a Tatum reference in one of the deleted scenes so there would've been a Tatum reference in every Scream movie up to this point if they hadn't taken that out.
Jill's reveal was such a big deal when this came out. Emma Roberts had always played the "good girl" previously and so everyone thought Jill would be more of the same. I remember my friend and I both blurting out "What?!" in the theater when Jill revealed herself. Now that Emma Roberts has started playing a wider range of characters and ones that are much less cotton candy sweet, lol, I've seen a few people go "Oh, it's Emma Roberts. Jill's definitely Ghostface." But I swear it was a huge thing when it first came out because we all bought into the way she was always the nice one. And instead she was a total psycho here lol.
Jill is my favorite ghostface. I'd love to see her go back to Scream 7. I also want Sydney back. And it would be very cool if Jill realized her guilt and mistakes, and helped Sidney and the others kill the ghostfaces.

just realised the kind of genius of having a young woman with a similar adolescence to Sydney but just in a different generation and one who turns to homicide to cope. I loved the group's reactions to all the new characters and the OG trio too. Kirby the goat of course but I was a bit surprised for the Judy love you guys had.
"I don't love this" is my feeling with this movie since I first saw it but you all made this one fun and on future rewatches I'm sure I'll think of the banger jokes from you all, like "all this for clout?" lol

how Scream treats hospitals through the series is kind of the most 'Horror Movie' thing they do I think. This movie is the most schlocky of the Screams in terms of production, visuals, gore, character choices etc but it's a sign of the other movies from the genre at that time I suppose.
Jill and Charlie are solid ghostfaces, and the two actors do well with the deranged couple vibe from the generation raised by true crime reruns. The fame angle works in this one especially with how society is now (and always has been really).
The Jill staging scene is iconic though. She didn't exactly cook but she... reheated leftovers from the OG.

The Scream films are easily my all time favorite franchise! So I’ve _really_ enjoyed watching you guys experience them for the first time! I honestly get excited every single time I get a notification that you guys have uploaded a new Scream reaction!
Now, I’m probably a bit biased due to how much I love this franchise, and while some of the movies are certainly better than others (I mean… it’s impossible for that _not_ be the case, no matter what movies we’re taking about. But I digress. lol.), I genuinely enjoy each and every installment. I feel like they’re all similar enough that they they feel like they’re in the universe but they’re also different enough that people will prefer different movies for different reasons.
Anyway, I’m SUPER excited for you guys to watch the 2 newest installments! (And that’s coming from someone who’s watched every Scream film, except for the first one as I was “too young”, in the theaters.) I just hope that all of you guys enjoy both of them as much as I did! 😊

This is my favorite film of the franchise. It's Kevin Williamson with his finest writing. Ghostface is at his most menacing. And, the best Ghostface quotes come from this film.

1:03:00 finally someone is saying it. Just enjoy the movie and stop over thinking it. Scream is a horror that makes fun of horror tropes so of course it's not going to be completely realistic. It was created the way it was created ON PURPOSE.
