To me, this video transcends Dario's as-usual excellent and inspiring work in the interaction with the officer. The optics of a partially jocked-up, side-arm bearing "peace officer" in paramilitary garb looming over a performance artist sitting on the street playing for an admiring crowd has an almost Banksy quality to it. Land of the free, indeed.
Dario Rossi! You are awesome, talented, educated musician. My respect to you for your devotion and diligence. As a person of art, I appreciate and respect your skills. Never give up! You are cool!
I didn't appreciate the disturbance. All that Banging. So I called the Police and Thank GOODNESS they came to our aid! So thankful to the brave men and women of law enforcement for stopping this dangerous criminal from spreading happiness.
@@double0devin2012 I applaud the criticism Devin because if I was who I had pretended to be in the comment I'd hope someone would have had the courage to intervene as you bravely did. :) Read the end of my comment again and you'll see the heavy sarcasm. ;)

Good luck in the next phase of your life and career Dario. And blessings on your dad's soul for creating and nurturing such a gifted and likable genius as yourself. The policeman was polite and the crowd were generous so for me it is a nice clip showing the Christmas spirit. :-)
Ahh NYC. No law enforcement around when some deranged hobo decides to push you onto the subway tracks, but they are on point when it comes time to crack down on a dude rocking jams on the sidewalk.
Freedom? You dont even have "free" in health care system. USA is faaar from freedom they want you to think like that. Freedom is for people with power and money.
Because he doesn't have a permit to do busking at least the police enjoyed abit of his drumming. Still sad that he needs a permit just to do busking, and the police was just doing his job.
I will risk my job if i were him lol. Yeah oc, i understand that, that was just my spontaneous reaction since i hvnt seen him uploaded a new one for awhile. Keep goin Dario!
What about the girl at minute 3:15? Did she took your tips instead of giving you some? I can't figure out what happened 🤔 thanks 🤭👌 excellent skills and music *-* 👏👏👏

Who the dunces stopped becoz they didnt get their permit "Mafia Tax" ..Seasons Salutations & Celebrations to you Brutha Dario, Thank you for sharing your passion.. Peace & Respect frm New Zealand You will surely be Welcome
Dario Rossi, you are incredibly talented. The sad thing is this officer does not know the laws. It clearly states on the "NYC 311 Performance Permit website" that a permit is required should the performer use "loudspeaker, megaphone, or stereo Perform in or next to a park" whereas in this video Dario obviously is not using any type of device to transmit the music/sound. Otherwise, there is a $45 fee for a permit. One can, however, perform under the subway without a permit using those devices. This officer was in the wrong.
not entirely true, This is Time Square. Since 2016 they have specific areas for "busking" and tipped performers. Time Square is a very specific set of rules. It was chaos before. With all the buskers and those costume people.
@@Minoritynomad They should then honestly update this website: portal.311.nyc.gov/article/?kanumber=KA-02069 Though yes, it would be best to just pay the $45 permit and then one would never have to worry about it.
Dario, I am one of your loyal subscribers. I saw this video 4 days ago and just revisited it, now reading your comments above. I didn't see them the first time. There is so much more going on in this video than what meets the eye or ear. At first, I was so pleased to see a new post! More so that you were street busking in New York City, my city, only to be ceased by a the NYPD.... Never saw this happening to you before in any other city or venue. That was discouraging, since you were just getting warmed up. Ahh, America and her unequal Justice system (as another commenter pointed out). But you handled the circumstance with grace. I am just now watching the video again and reading some of the comments, through which I discover that this moment was actually a tribute expression to your father's passing and possibly to a change of course in your life. This moment is both painful and sweet, as well as tormenting. I'm sorry for the loss of your dad and that you were stopped in the middle of expressing his spirit, while processing your own place, moment, future path...I would imagine ...bewildering. There was really a lot going on there, when the cop interceded, but your grace prevailed. That says a lot to your fans, that are always drawn to your talent. What is especially meaningful to me is that you posted this the day after my mother died and your music was giving me a nice distraction and relief. Now that I know what was really happening , I will always witness this moment as her send off too! Thank you Dario! Good luck with your future direction. Keep us in the loop... we will be there.
Why did you stop him he’s got talent all he was doing is entertaining the people I wouldn’t have stopped him if that was be beat he’s good. Stay Safe 👮🏻♂️🚔🚨
So sad you had to stop performing @ Times Square Dario, I once was shooting a timelapse on one of the marble benches at Times Square and suddenly a group of policemen stood next to me (all watching at me and talking about me). I did use a mini tripod and a timer remote so maybe they found that suspicious or something. I am not surprised they walked to you and ordered you to stop, but it's a shame really....artists make the city a lot more enjoyable.
This guy forms crowds so quickly. Unbelievable talent!

Hot damn. I'm not sure if hillbilly techno exists, but I want it in my life.

He stopped him because he was going to be rich in 10min 😂😂😂
It takes some doing to get that many New Yorkers to stand still and listen especially on Christmas Eve!
So great !!!!
Stupid policeman!
Dario, you best drummer!
He was not stupid he just did his job. Blame the law creators
he's lucky to be still alive. Usually they call the SWAT TEAM for much less :))

"just doing his job" so did the nazis at the camps. Getting a permit to do anything takes ages and comes out as negative. This really pissed me off.
