    New youtube recommended is so smart, this video is totally obscure but was *perfect* for me. Did not expect the robot to be able to turn that fast, and the use of carbon fiber rods to save weight is amazing.

      You'd be better off with something in the FANUC M-900 series. Those ones can lift a couple hundred kilos, so they'd pack a lot more wallop. Probably better integrations with computer vision software too, so you can make sure you're always landing right on the nose.

    Very cool concept, I know as an industrial robot user, mainly SCARA, I'd like more rotation in axis 4, maybe instead of a lever the use of a capstan pulley arrangement?

    I think, you can enable "vibration supression" option in servodrives. That make more smoothly motions and minimize jerks when the motions end.

      @@Kawka1122 its made out of carbon fiber rods and only aluminum for joints. I think it'd do great as a 3d printer

    Would have torque bias as the first arm moves through the second arm arc. Well makes sense in my head.....

    i feel that the UV joint kinda setup would make for very tricky IK and moving diagonally accurately

    really, really cool design,
    what about repeatable accuracy though ?
    At 1:46 whilst travelling fast you could see it shaking at the end of movement - that with 7.5kg on the end may struggle after a fair few cycles

      It may look like a shake but what you most likely see is the 25mm drop movement part of the test program.

      I think top speed should be nearly the same, acceleration on the other hand would probably be way lower

    They're coming to get us.
    I noticed what seemed like a residual arc motion when the extended arm was in vertical axis motion. That could have been programmed out. Same with the pure horizontal.

      That's one way to tackle secondary vibrations from load shift. Another would be to limit jolt through the software. I guess they are going for ultralight, so a counterweight could be an option on the main axis but not on the elbow.

    Looks designed for pick-n-place, but curious if another version could handle a cutting head with a tool-changer. That requires more than lift, and probably two more axis to work. Something to work toward?

    This is cool and all, but my Robo €0€’K can spin Much faster. Mine uses a Vertical Design, with actuator motors around the tip, also uses reinforced skin, sometimes for extra protection I’ll throw on a magnum plastic sheets around the arm of my Robo. Great work 🤙🏼

      It can be used for a variety or things, mostly you see them employed as pick and place operations. Say you have a whole bunch of parts you need to assemble, but you don't want people to contaminate them.
      This thing can assemble that object at a high rate of speed in a closed environment for mass production. In short they replace or assist entire workflows.
