  • In this video, we will review and test the Oxygenics Fury RV showerhead. One of the things you’ll find out quickly when RVing without full hookups is that you need to conserve water, or you’ll end up filling up your gray wastewater tank too quickly. The testing done in this video will show the difference in water usage between a stock RV showerhead and the Oxygenics Fury showerhead.

      I am still using this shower head after several years and it still performs well and saves water when needed. Still highly recommend it. All the best!

    Well done video as usual John..My wife and I switched out the spray head to a similar head on our RPOD 202..also fun note we had enough plastic shards in our original tank to clog the stock head unit...Keep it up!

      Those plastic shards from the fresh water tank clogged the water pump in my Keystone Bullet pretty badly a while ago. Too bad they let these issues pass to the customer. All the best!

      Certainly a good idea, especially if you plan to do camping where there are no sewer connections. Thanks!

    Very well done comparison John, thank you! We do a fair amount of boondocking and you sold me on paying a little more for The Fury given the versatility and options to match water restrictions with the utilities available. One thing worth pointing out to users is that the flow control on these rv heads do NOT cut flow completely, as the trickle allows water temp to stay regulated (roughly where you set it) to avoid scalding when the flow is restored. I’m looking forward to installing this new unit to see how it performs for us.

      Glad the video was helpful. Thanks for adding the point that the flow does not fully turn off. All the best!

    John, thank you so much for this comprehensive experiment! I planned to purchase the Powerblast RV Model however the models with Smart Pause don't have the toggle from high to low Flow. While SmartPause would be a great function to have, being able to reduce the flow would really help to maximize water conservation when boondocking.

    Nice comparison tests! We switched to the Oxygenics single (like you showed) in our RPod a while back. It was definitely an improvement over the original.

      Both Oxygenics shower heads are very good. The single shower head unit was outstanding. The Fury model just gives a little more versatility. Thanks!

    I have a 2022 jayco greyhawk got this shower head I did a sixty second cold water test with both and they are virtually identical in water consumption

    • @JohnMarucci
      @JohnMarucci  2 роки тому

      Did you adjust the back handle to adjust the water flow? The main benefit of this model is the ability to use full force when at full hookups and also be able to restrict flow when needed.

      @@JohnMarucci on the bottom of the unit at the shower head there is a slide you control on,off and flow .just thought I’d let you know

    Great analysis. Does the water flow control on the Fury RV Shower Head shut the flow down to a dribble like the Smart Pause on the other Oxygenics RV shower heads?

    • @JohnMarucci
      @JohnMarucci  2 роки тому

      Yes, it sure does when you shut the control level to the lowest flow. Thanks!

    Thanks John. We bought the single head Oxigenics years ago, but I never installed it. I was concerned about drilling holes in the showers wall not knowing what kind of backing was behind the wall. Can you shed some light on this problem? Should I be able to drill directly above the old shower head mount on my Rpod 179?

    • @JohnMarucci
      @JohnMarucci  2 роки тому

      I would think that you should be able to drill a new location of the shower head on the wall. However, make sure you measure the length of the new shower head as I was actually thinking that I need to lower the location of the wall mount to accommodate the longer shower head. I may tackle something similar for my R-Pod 179 shortly. I would also recommend you ask on the owners forum (not FaceBook) to see what others have done: rpod-owners.com

    Great video as always! What’s the lowest angle you can achieve with the shower head and bracket? Or stock head is limited to spraying fairly high up on the back wall when in its cradle. Can you achieve a steeper downward stream with the new head?

    • @JohnMarucci
      @JohnMarucci  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, in fact I am now having the opposite issue with this unit! It’s heavy and over time isn’t staying up. Thanks!

      @@JohnMarucci You inspired me to do a little research on camper shower heads (so much time until next season!). The Oxygenics are very popular upgrades and it seems the ball joint that allows for angle adjustment wears out very quickly. Someone recommended this shower head height adjustment bar to help solve the elevation problem when multiple people use the shower. Its also made by Oxygenics and is called “Oxygenics 22842 - Chrome Aluminium Easy Slide Bar”. It’s a vertical bar that mounts on the shower wall and holds the shower head. The shower head can then slide up and down in the bar bracket and locks into place at the selected height.

    It's too bad the ball joint wears out so quickly. Did you come up with a solution?

    • @JohnMarucci
      @JohnMarucci  Рік тому

      I put a dab of clear silicon caulk on the ball and set it to the desired angle and haven't had an issue with it sagging.
