Very true! A lot of us -entrepreneurs get burned out because we are so passionate and driven, at least at the beginning, and we think we can do so much more than our body can carry! I am at the burned out stage now- 7 years doing HAND-made on Etsy, and that's it- i am done and finished with that! When the work sucks every bit of energy and every single minute out of your life, it is time to stop and change something. So i am in the space now thinking how to keep my Etsy shops, but completely change the product, where i don't have to put so much physical labor in it. Aiming for doing less- getting more. This episode came really on time, good to listen to the advice, thank you!
This was SUCH a helpful video.
Yes! I am new at this and I am already burned out! Maybe overwhelmed! Feel alone and unsupported from everyone! Extremely frustrated process. Definitely not sure I should keep going with Etsy and my business. I am a retired RN but this is so different.
Yes, I just took 2 days off and didn't log into the computer for anything those days.
I think i am there right now. I feel exactly what Chris said
Some of these gurus that you are referring to makes 300k + a year does say try to get to a 1000 listings but you ain't telling your viewers the full story about what they are saying regarding that 1000 listings. Almost all of them say it must be quality listening with research and not just something you throw together. At the end of the day a shop with 1000 quality line items will out sell a shop with 100 quality line items.
Chris i like your new doo..clean
Most Etsy sellers are creators smart people, sooner or later they’ll find out the best ways to sell their products without getting burned out!
100k thank you! 🙏

You guys are such a great team!
Yes! True!
Hi, you guys! I know you know who Pam Duthie and Starla are.. they are saying that POD makers are not supposed to be using third party mockups in their shops.. Pam has gotten word back from Etsy that this is the case... I know awhile back ago, you were in contact with them and they said we could.. I'm so confused. Just to be safe, I changed all my mocks to Printify mocks (until I can afford to buy samples for at least some of them)... but now my store looks awful. :( Do you have any advice on this? Should we play it safe and only use Printify mocks? Thank you so much!!
I'm not sure who Pam is, but we do know starla.
Etsy has specific guidelines for mockups and third part mockups are perfectly fine as long as they accurately represent the product and you own the rights to them....at least according to Etsy themselves and their legal team. Ety's change to the image policy on July 9th made it clear that this is the correct way to think about it*
They haven't changed anything with their image policy recently so the guidance from that team should still apply, but using the mockup directly from the partner should always be a safe bet.

Yes, that is what I exactly feel!! and I keep looking for the correct way and effective way to do my search, and creativity to make it work for me.
Etsy always addresses you by your shop name not seller 🚩

ok - novice level seller here. I began one of those 'general stores and after 3 months or so started watching you guys. At first I started to pivot and just focus on the teaching niche...all the while learning design etc...pretty quickly got to 150+ - I'm seeing that my niche doesn't really lend itself to that many other products. (still exploring though) So my question is - should I slowly pivot again and change the niche OR fire up a different Etsy store and essentially start over?? (also I totally ran a giveaway and spent $300 to get 34 email addresses) I'm just not sure which way to go and I'd appreciate input!! Because i'm for sure NOT going to scale to 500+ listings for no reason!
It sounds like you may have missed product depth on your niche research. You can either add more sub niches to bring up the demand or pivot completely. I’m not sure starting a new store is necessary.
I’d do more niche research and look at product depth
Thank you Scott! I missed the live, but during the replay I literally unfollowed ALL the other Etsy/POD ETC accounts.
I printed out your 100k plan. And am going to spend the weekend walking through it.
I hope to join the backstage pass club, but I just need to make some progress before I spend even more $$
Appreciate you and Chris!
