Michael Hutchence, to me, is one of the most underrated frontmen. Oozed charisma, sensuality and confidence. Very much missed. If you haven't heard "Don't Change" from INXS, it's a goodun.
Always somebody has to come in with the underrated BS
Definitely. He was a great frontman.
@@silat13 This time it's true. So, go snipe at someone else. You're probably one of the clowns that's always voting for metal and never satisfied when they break away for a song or two.
@@silat13 Okay. He is too frequently talked about as being an excellent frontman. There are endless articles and arguments in the rock, pop and modern music community overall about his greatness. In fact, I'm sick of hearing all the praise that Michael Hutchence gets. My original comment just adds to all the noise about how fairly rated he is. In fact, I'm regretting thinking it at all. Thanks for making me see the light!
He's my favorite frontman of all time. I don't care what anyone says ❤
"I wonder how many kids were made to this", has got to be the best statement ever!!!!😀❤❤❤
RIP Michael Hutchence. He was such a beautiful person and genius musician.
INXS were huge in the 80's/90's! Try "Need You Tonight" next, if you haven't already. So many great bangers... and while you guys like to check out lyric videos, do at least one video so you can actually see them!
Right?! Our vocalist loved them, and U2, back then. Remembering their drummer was solid.
Suicide Blond is brilliant
True... very true, but then again, everything they did was brilliant!!!
I loved Lex's response " I wonder how many kids were made to that"? Lol. The Kick album is one of the best albums of the 80's. Stands the Test of time. I recently asked a younger coworker if she knew who INXS was? She heard of them, but wasn't familiar with their songs.. I recommended KICK to her.. She came back the next morning and said that she absolutely loved it, giving it a 5/5. Some other INXS songs to consider are New Sensation, Suicide Blonde and Not Enough Time.
the besT album
I think you guys would have a better feel for the band if your see original or live videos. Their stage presense is what makes them stand out above other bands. One of the most successful bands of the 80s.
Yeah one of the most successful bands but when he died his kid Tigerlily got nothing as the lawyers are it all . I'll think she'll be fine as Sir Bob took her in .
INXS - New Sensation !!
More INXS please
Original Sin & The One Thing by INXS are classics
The One Thing is what made me love them and I was only 8 when Shabooh Shoobah came out. By the time they released Kick I was hooked for life.
Original Sin was a big hit here in the Philippines.
@@adamsgrad93 I became a huge fan in 1987 but I went back and bought the 5 albums prior and now the whole catalog is stirring up old memories.
You guys should react to…
INXS - Need You Tonight
🎸🤘
An awesome song from their album Kick! My interpretation of the song is that, we all have the capacity for evil. Just based on the "Here comes the World" lyrical part of this song.
👍 Nailed it.
Exactly! He couldn't get passed the words she was raised on leather flesh on her mind,so he thought the whole song was about fetish sex. Your interpretation was correct.
Nah, this refers to his relationship with Kylie Minogue - he changed her image from goody two shoes to edgy naughty pop star. Hutchence was basically seen as bad boy Danny from Grease while Minogue was seen as the Sandy in that movie. This is a nod to Hutchence’s bad boy reputation - which sadly ended up killing him.
DG l believe the song he wrote about Kylie was Suicide Blonde.
Devil Inside is the second song released from their Kick album. It went to #2 in the US and stayed there for a couple of weeks.
Many people have said Michael's vocal performance and the guitar riff makes this song great. I tend to agree. Anyway, Lex, you were right on the money when you said you couldn't get a feel for who they are musically. The beauty about INXS is they don't play the same sh*t over and over. Their debut album had a ska sound to it. Their second and third were more 80s new wave. The fourth was a little more pop. Their fifth, Listen Like Thieves, harkens back to their days as a pub band in Sydney. Their sixth and most successful, Kick, is a mix of funk, rock, blues and a little rap w/Mediate. Their seventh, X, has more of a blues sound. Their eighth, Welcome To Wherever You Are, is different from all the rest. They took some musical risks and it's, I think, their most underrated album. Their ninth, Full Moon Dirty Hearts, is their grunge album. And the last one w/Michael, Elegantly Wasted, is their darkest. Michael was going through some stuff at that point in his life and you can hear it in the lyrics.
My suggestion is, if you want to get to know them better, start w/their popular albums, Kick, Listen Like Thieves and X. Then, work your way through the catalog. You'll hear some of everything and not one of their albums sounds like the next. That is the beauty of INXS. And that's also the beauty of Led Zeppelin and that's why they're my favorite bands.
That song brought me right back to 8th grade. Big one at school dances. INXS was HUGE at the time.
"What You Need" live from Wembley Stadium is the jaw dropper from them you need to see.
This is just a fucking great pop song. I miss the days when I could enjoy pop music.
POP DOESN'T EVEN EXISTS NOWADAYS IN MAINSTREAM MUSIC! IT IS FKN EMBARRASSING! (NOT FOR YOU, BUT FOR THEM!)
Michael Hutchence was a phenomenal frontman and the whole band was great in concert. You might want to check out their live concert at Wembly Stadium in London. Another great song which is from the Kick album is Mystify. Others include Kiss The Dirt, This Time, The Stairs, Beautiful Girl, Heaven Sent, Original Sin and What You Need.
"Dont Change" is the greatest - PEACE LOVE n HIPPYNESS ✌☮
I don't get upset too much when celebrities die, but when I heard the news Michael Hutchence committed suicide, I was bummed out. I saw this band live at my local Spirit Festival.. It was awesome
I've never been convinced it was suicide. I think it was just autoerotic asphyxiation gone wrong.
You are exactly right! Caren Helms.
I had a friend back then who was a massive INXS fan. I got really worried at how depressed he got when Michael died.
When the album dropped back in '87 I played the hell out of that cassette.
Lex...I always love the way you always glance over at Brad to see his reaction when you're really enjoying the songs.😊
In this episode of Brad & Lex, the dark mood and sultry voice of Michael Hutchence creates wicked vibes which Brad will label "naughty" while he seems to circum to this setting by giving us an intrigued "side to side sway" as Lex, per usual finds light in the darkness by disregarding it and shining with her optimistic "love bop".
Always seemed like a strange song when I first started listening to it but then the musical composition and the beat couldn’t be resisted, with a great jamming melodic ending that you don’t want it to end!
INXS one of my Favorite Bands, Love their Music! Very Tragic what happened to Michael Hutchence.
There’s so much great INXS to get into. I’m always happy to see this band on any channel.
INXS where the first band I ever saw! I was 18 and it was at Portsmouth guild hall. It was 1993 and they were a huge band but they did a small venues tour and me and several of my friends waited all day and got to stand at the front row and they were incredible! Still the best band I’ve ever seen live 👌👌👏👏👏
one of my all time favourite songs, Kick is such a great album.
So many fun times had listening to INXS' music. I'm glad I was there to experience it.
Kiss The Dirt is another great INXS track 👍
INXS - "This Time" or "The One Thing" are both great and better than Devil Inside
Same goes for Kiss The Dirt and Don't Change. This is probably their weakest song, of the hits.
"Just Keep Walking" (1980) is a rocker.
Thank you for your opinion
I always thought it was about how we carry our demons and desperation around with us. “Hard to believe we need a place called hell”
My suggestion is Suicide Blonde Live at Wembley Stadium, it's a live performance and so far has never been blocked. Definitely worth watching the performance. RIP Michael Hutchinson ✌️💜🎶
INXS - "Mystify" and "the Gift " are two good ones to checkout
One of my all time favorite songs. Video is fire as well. INXS albums The Swing, Listen Like Thieves, and Kick are all fire
The video is dynamic and worth the watch!!
The album is on my Christmas list. Kick introduced me to the band. The executives didn't like the album at first but the manager released it with the bands money. If it failed the band would be broke. It was a success. And one of my favorite guitar riffs.
This song to me was always about young people who don't have material possessions, yet, but are full of passion and hope for the future, and passion for each other. There's just something carnal about that time in life.
Raised on Leather,,,,,🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😎
INXS is good shit,,,👍👍👍
just amazing love this band
Love dancing in the clubs to this song
Taste It by INXS. One of their most funky jams.
You need to SEE the band perform vs focus on the lyrics. Most of their lyrics are poetic with some discord. They were a phenomenal live act. The guys in the band instrumentally played off of each other. And their focus was dance music - it makes your body want to move. And oh dear sweetheart you need to meet Michael.😜
Great song from an awesome album
What you need is a great one of INXS
Played in every 80's Spencers back in day when back of it was adult.lol
Iconic albums of 1987 (the year I graduated high school) INXS-Kick, The Cult-Electric, Guns N Roses-Appetite for Destructions, Pink Floyd-Momentary Lapse of Reason, R.E.M.-Document, Bruce Springsteen-Tunnel of Love, U2-The Joshua Tree.
That definitely was a great year for new music! I graduated a couple years later, in '89 - and I would add one of my personal faves to your list - "Girls, Girls, Girls" by Motley Crue 🙂
Love Kick! One of my favorite 80's bands, mainly because Michael Hutchence sings at the same register as I do, so I can karaoke their songs :D My fave of course is Need You Tonight
Please try the live version of,"Never Tear us Apart"...
INXS Was Super Awesome!! Great Vibe!! 💖💖💖
Hutchinson gives me Jim Morrison vibes.
check out Need You Tonight 🔥🔥🔥
When doing INXS reactions... using the Wembley Stadium Live performance is a good choice.... unlikely to have any copyright issues and really shows the band in their element.
So true. The Suicide Blonde performance from Live Baby Live is EPIC!!!
Michael is exactly what we need right now, a big party.
F'n love INXS
I hadn't heard that in ages but it was really fun to experience it this way with you guys.
More INXS!
You guys are so fun. Thanks for sharing.
Try "Melting in the Sun", "Too Look At you" and "The Loved One" for three classics just under the radar for most.
inxs ‘suicide blonde’ & ‘disappear’ are both great tracks.
"Don't Change" is their best song IMHO.
"Just Keep Walking" INXS is brilliant. One of my favourites. You will love it !
You guys want a better feel for INXS check out the official videos for "Don't Change" or " You Are The One Thing". Early MTV and killer sound. You Are The One Thing is VERY blatant symbolism.
I like to watch Inxs videos. Especially the Webley concert!
You should look at their live version of "Good Times" with their Australian brother, Jimmy Barnes. I think you two would really enjoy that song. It rocks out pretty hard. 🙂
This is the main song I want them to react to. So awesome, and written by George Young, the older brother of Angus and Malcolm Young of AC DC.
INXS like other Aussie bands of the day are uniquely Aussie! We have our own rock genre "Pub Rock" which is uniquely Aussie, if they survived the Pub Rock Scene of Australia then they'd make it in this world & survive anything & the boys made it internationally & never forgot where they came from & still live in Sydney's Northern Beaches where they grew up which is great... Unlike another Aussie band that did sell their souls to make it internationally & u rarely see them on the golden soil that made them
Cant wait til hear, Need You Tonight!
Early INXS is the best - dancing on the Jetty, what you need, don’t change, just keep walking, this time, listen like thieves
They had a song called Horizons on the "Underneath the colours" album that I couldn't stop listening to.
It’s about Hutchence’s relationship with the then bland pop star Kylie Minogue, who he transformed into a performer with an ‘edge’ just by having a relationship with her, and his bad boy reputation - which ended up consuming him.
By the way, if you like this you’d probably like Icehouse: ‘hey little girl’ and Great Southern Land. Same era, same nationality, same cool vibe.
So glad you are reacting to these classic songs but you are missing out on so much from the MTV video Era. They made most of these groups/ songs. Especially INXS and the B52s. Consider watching these videos on one of your live streams so we can get you opinion on these songs you have reacted to lately. Enjoy!
INXS is a very underrated band. They were brilliant at times, and not so much in other times, but!... people should often search for what is the best of Humanity, and if that is the case, INXS will definitely be there!
You need to watch the Live Baby Live videos, Hutch was at the top of his game. A great frontman!!!
The thing about INXS was that almost EVERY song they made became a huge hit - no side B
Aussie Rock🤘🤘🤘🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺 They have a sh!t ton of hits
I'm a 65 year old straight dude but I can't figure out which you kids is cuter. Your reviews make my day. Keep this up please!
Man! I just can't get enough of you guys.
Inxs was a very underrated group
I enjoy their song Elegantly Wasted
This song is next level good.
To this day I still absolutely love this song.
RIP Michael Hutchence, one of the best front men ever.
the alternate name for this song should be 'Speeding Ticket" great driving music
I think you should check their live appearances, guys. They were brilliant stunning even better than the studio recordings and Michael was dancing and pulsing like he had devil inside. One of their best concerts was in 1991 , Wembley but you gonna love them all. You are missing the real essence of the real INXS with those videos.
Fallon Down the Mountain and Kick are amazing!!!!
Michael stalked the stage like a sultry leopard...
I got some for you. Corrosion of Conformity-clense my wounds, Rage against the machine-killing in the name, HIM-right here in my arms, The Cult, My Chemical Romance.
We all certainly have devilish desires. No doubt about it.
Lex interprets the song as erotic. Ok, that confirms she's definitely seen pictures of Hutchence. :D
I suggest the following INXS songs: Don't Change & The One Thing
INXS made a lot of classics for the dancefloor - real cool stuff!
Next INXS: New Sensation...really upbeat and amazing
Check out "Sirius/Eye in the Sky" by The Alan Parson's Project. It's my all time favorite band. It's like a mellower version of Pink Floyd. Bloody geniuses! I'm still in love with you, Lex!
The album Kick has been certified six times platinum by the RIAA and peaked at number three on the Billboard 200. The album also spawned four US top 10 singles ("New Sensation", "Never Tear Us Apart", "Devil Inside" and "Need You Tonight", the last of which reached the top of the US Billboard singles charts
The girl can't stop smiling she gets it
I've always been more of a hard rock and heavy metal guy, but I REALLY like INXS! Great songs, great sound, great singer!
Heaven Sent
Is an awesome tune to follow up this one.
The song is about worldly people and rampant materialism.
Hedonistic. Don't change is one of the greatest songs ever. The official video is pretty cool too.
I was about 14(?) When this album came out. I still believe it's the sexiest/coolest album since Purple Rain. I'm biased but it really still sounds So good. Thanks!
Don't change is one of their best songs.
Hey there from south Louisiana. Hey Lex, know what you'd love? ELP. Pictures at an Exhibition.
That's Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, also Lucky man by ELP, and others, the album Tarkus, too.
