I really enjoy the show and the detail you share. You are able to explain some of the small but important details that help us understand how things operate that provide your data. For a 74 year old semi-hippie, this is really awesome technology. When I went to Mississippi State University in 1971 there was "the computer" on campus. It took up a large amount of space on the second floor of the Eng. building. We love this technology and how it works! Moving on; an example is your placement of cameras at specific locations to show the on-site conditions in real time. That is really interesting to me. We had so little information on on Katrina moving into Mississippi until CNN managed to get coverage. That lack of data, compared to Helene is phenomenal! Odd that Camille and Katrina were both huge storms that when encouraged to evacuate; many people said "we'll ride it out". I love learning; everything I can. OK enough singing. I would ask only that you look directly at the camera often. I know you are constantly scanning the various parameters and data sources available to you. We all know you are monitoring a lot of shit! (For real, you could do an entire show on what you do and how you do it..! What you are surrounded by.) But, by looking at your viewers, you are keeping them engaged, we feel more comfortable. Smile and crack a joke. I think the best description is "almost mechanical". Sometimes it can sound like you are narrating a horse race. Sorry, that was the first thing that came to mind. I hope that doesn't offend you. None was intended. Anyway, thank you sir for this effort, where I will continue to go to when I need weather information. Best regards
They literally just updated the hurricane and said it is at a category 3 and it's not near land yet. There is high probability for it to turn into a category 4. Let's pray it doesn't.
Hey max, thanks for your coverage of this storm. Way better than mainstream reporters. With the storm surge at 15-20 ft above level, the citrus county area particularly highway 19 will be flooded. How do you feel about the flooding in cedar key?
Yep, it seems to be heading on a turn to the east. Not the west like they thought. And it is also now a 3, and is rapidly intensifying with many hours to go before it hits land. This looks like it will definitely be a 4 even perhaps a high end 4 when it hits land.
So....when does the severity and frequency of these events finally move our society to a more minimalistic one? Asking ironically from a high speed internet device. Really curious though
I woke up at 5:55 am this morning to a giant tree falling on my home and crushing both cars. I hope the worst is over for us. I could have never imagined how bad this could get.
It was a nightmare I lost. Everything. Hurricane was Abad storm.i had 5 feet of water inside my apartment..when they say leave. Believe me you need to do.
The hurricane hunters make zero sense they are finding pressure in the low 950mb area then putting their advisory at 959mb? Its obvious its strenghthing so why not put the pressure at what you actually found with the instrument...?
@@martyb5058 I heard it on UA-cam, Ryan hall yall, he has a meteorologist on his channel named Andy hill and he said live on air a hurricane hunter reported it.
I don’t know about where you come from, but we call “landfall” when the eye first hits land. This storm landfalled way before 11:10. It’s kinda like watching the med community call ivermectin a “horse dewormer” 😂.
Yes and it went from 120 mph winds to 124mph winds in like 10 minutes. It is now rapidly intensifying. It's also getting tighter as it goes in. Not good.
I truly feel that this hurricane is onlygoing to be a cat 2 , maybe a low 3. Everyone keeps claiming a cat 4 but it’s half way to landfall and it’s still a cat 2? Is this all speculation at this point
No. It's based on historical data, the favorability of the conditions, and the water temperature. Right now, there is nothing impeding rapid strengthening of this hurricane until it hits land.
It’s a Cat 3 now and has plenty of time before making landfall. I can bet it’ll be a Cat 4 regardless of what anyone else says. We shall sit and wait….

I think its safe to say yes its a dangerous storm and its potential to be catastrophic is definitely a possibility.
400 miles wide! Wow! Thanks Max. From SC.
I live in the central of Alabama, & I feel lucky to be on the Left side of this storm. I'll pray for all who are in Helene's path.

It's a cat 3 now. It has 8 hours before it is going to hit land and it's going over very warm waters. It's going to intensify greatly from now to then

No model projects this to be over a low 3, this is just hype. Most have it decreasing.
Just found 115 knot flight level winds so strengthening steadilly
