40 yr old and trained for years but stupidly to the point of chronic exertion…which caused injuries….forced to have 12 months off to heal my back. Will get back into it in January…..I wasn’t lifting heavy just didn’t listen to my body when it was telling me to rest. As you get older you need to train smarter not harder. A bloke in his seventies trains at my gym he looks fantastic, literally looks like he’s in his early fifties he said the key is to listen to your body, the human body is not a machine and it will break if you push it too hard….keep it simply stupid and listen to your body.
42 here. When I’m starting to feel sore, I just simply take a couple days off. Don’t wanna overload your body with things that need repaired. One takes away from another.
Can we get the long form of these? There’s got to be a midground between the two minute clips on here and the three hour long solo rants filmed with an iPhone8 on lees personal channel.
Yeah Im 24 and people in my gym either don’t do enough or too much weight without proper form / warm up. Not mentioning what they eat / do outside of the gym , but I wish people were smarter about training , you’ll see the same people constantly around the same time daily at the gym and then next second their out injured😂
Not only that, they come in on Wednesday and fail a bench pr of 155 lbs, then come back on thursday no warm up no recovery just straight to the bench, bless their heart 😂😂😂 i wanna give advice but they seem mean lil
that injury ache while lying in your bed , keeping you awake is a nightmare, I see you found Kratom Lee. Thats what I use to heal injuries and let me sleep pain free when I need it. Those co-codamol and ibuprofen are no good if you need them more than a night or 2.
Im 24. Im muscular, train since 14 and 2hrs everyday. I always do 3 sets warmup, chase pump, feel the muscle, and then, only then, i try heavier weights, aiming to 6-4 reps. Doing 20 sets per muscle... im muscular, lean, in good form. but all of this is thanks to be careful with my joints, get de blood flow, a pump, and warming sets
Indeed. Now working on repairing joints, age 66. All the best to everyone. Thanks Lee.
My fave bodybuilder of all time speaking perfect sense as usual.

I'm 48 and I'm in the garage for 90 min just to do 14 or 15 working set cos I do so many warm up sets
I hear ya, warm ups are longer than the workout at times
@jamesboyle8229 kills a bit of time if nothing else

Please please please change your training style
Train hard if you enjoy it, but there’s need for it, and you are probably not doing yourself any favor along term
